Playground Weekly Top Ten #1!
((This was in the Media Discussion forum. But, it actually belongs here. So, here it goes.))
Alright folks. Everybody here has opinions on something, right? Course you do. Who doesn't?
So, I want to know. What are these opinions? Well?
So, each week, I'm going to run a poll of some random topic. And you guys throw in your suggestions, and I'll compile them into a "Top Ten" list. All of the results chosen by you.
I'll get the new topic up on Saturday nights, and have the previous week's results up by Sunday at the latest.
Now, I'm going to set down a few rules.
Spoiler
- No arguing opinions. The last thing we need is people fighting over what's better here. Just state your answers, and leave it at that. If you wanna tell somebody they're wrong, well, that's what PMs are for.
- Everybody can give up to five answers for each week. Put more up, and I'll ignore any past the first five. Also, to make it easier on me, once your five are up, that's what they are. No changing answers. Too much of a pain.
- Any answer can be taken, as long as it fits that week's category. If I have to send you more than one PM, asking how your answer fits, then I'm probably gonna toss it. If I do, I'll let you replace it with another one.
- I may post to show up to date results. I may not. So, don't be surprised if I don't.
- All previous lists will be placed into this post, for easy reference.
- If you have a suggestion for a topic, please, PM me. I can't guarantee I'll use it, but it's a good chance I will.
Well, that's it for the rules.
Now, for this week's topic.

Okay, new week, new topic.
Hmmm...let's go with...
Top Ten...Cover Songs!
That's right. Songs by one artist, that were originally somebody else's song.
With this topic, since there's so many to choose from, I'll allow six votes.
Also, I'm going to ask that the votes actually have a format to them this time.
Song Title - Cover Artist - Original Artist
So, here we go!
1) Kidnap the Sandy Claws - Korn - Danny Elfman
2) RESPECT - Aretha Franklin - Otis Redding
3) Land of Confusion - Disturbed - Phil Collins
4) Thunderstruck - Hinder - AC/DC
5) All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix - Bob Dylan
6) Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm - Michael Jackson

Re: Playground Weekly Top Ten #1!
In hindsight, that topic was poor choice. My bad.
Hmmm...okay, here's a good one.
Top Ten...Action Movie Stars!!
Inspiration behind this one? The Expendables.
Okay, who's the best action stars? Anybody that stared in an action movie.
Here go my five:
1) Jason Statham
2) Bruce Willis
3) Samuel L. Jackson
4) Jet Li
5) Bruce Lee

Re: Playground Weekly Top Ten #1!
1) Sean Connery - The Original Bond, and even at 60-70 years of age, able to kick some major tuchus in The Rock. Accept no substitutes.
2) Bruce Campbell - Hail to the King, baby.
3) Robert Downey Jr. - He's becoming the thinking man's action star. Witty, with good emotions and enough detachment to make any ridiculous stunt seem plausible.
4) Daniel Craig - Perfect marriage of old fashioned Bond and new.
5) Jason Statham - Perfect counterpoint to Downey. All of his recent films have been action, action, action. And he's shown with films like Snatch and Lock Stock that he can handle some black humor as well.
I know you said no arguing opinions, but I REALLY felt like sharing mine on this one... no rule against that, right? Especially since a few of my picks are a little non-traditional.

Re: Playground Weekly Top Ten #1!
Well, I'm listing them by series. So though I may think one game is better within the series than another, it'd the series as a whole I'm rating.

Soul Blade/Calibur|Soul Calibur III
Tekken|Tekken 2
Dead or Alive|Dead or Alive 3
Darkstalkers|Darkstalkers 3
