    Atem

Atem hands his deck to Nauda. "There are very few fae in my deck, mostly fiends, dragons and mortal practitioners but take who you will."

It's true there are only really two fae in his deck. Mystical Elf and Celtic Guardian, both fae who allied with the mortals.

    ***

    Oracle

"I'm not helpless without my machine. Not as formidable but hardly helpless." Barbra says checking her escrima sticks mounted on the back of her wheel chair, the shotgun under her desk and the batarangs tucked under the arms.

"When were these rambling notes from?"

    ***

    Black Canary

It's a good thing they got out of the car. If they didn't do that they probably could have shaken Dinah but since they got out of the car they rendered themselves and their sense of equilbrium vulnerable to her sonic cries. Must be the henchmen off season.

Then the Joker's bullet hits, she loses focus on her cry and it ramps up it's frequency to almost lethal levels for a few seconds before she falls down on the car's trunk.
    ***

    Kirby

"I get my mouth moving like that and it makes me hungry."

She look at him nuetrally and says, "I don't know anything about it. It was made for me as a gift from a race of aliens called the Chozo who have long died out." You can tell that she is not lying.

Deathshead is not pleased by this revelation, evidenced by a scowl across his face. He says, "Very well, since you prove unhelpful, but truthful, I will give you a preview of your fate." With that he gets one of his newly acquired subjects and begins the horrific operation. The victim is injected with drugs to put him to sleep and numb any pain felt, so that they might not die or struggle during the procedure. He then has his assistants saw off the legs and fingers of the victim, so that new apendages may be installed. For the waist below area, a Tesla generator is surgically attached, shaped like a dome with wires connecting across the surface; while the fingers are replaced with steel claws. The victim is injected with a serum that causes the muscles to rapidly grow larger than they ever should be, sometimes the skin breaks and has to be stitched back together. Finally, the victim is lobotomized, and the frontol lobe is replaced by a processing device that connects to the other parts of the brain, acting effectively as a replacement and control device; and finally the head is covered with a thick, steel helmet for protection.
The creature is released from its restraints and obediantly awaits orders from its master. Deathshead claims, "This was based off an earlier failed experiment I had called the Loper. Before the beasts were uncontrolable, a failure, but with the advent of the computer, I was able to devise a solution to this problem. Would you like a demonstration of its capabilities?"

"You mistake me for one of you dogs, Major, who get excited at the thought of blood. I'm not; killing is not something to do for fun or entertainment. And this killing had little point. So no, I didn't think your men needed my help in their casual slaughter of people who could not hope for defense. I report for combat, not slaughter. I'm sane, unlike your little army of dogs. Do you understand?"

Even someone like Captain America can't trace the pathway of the bullet to them. Iron Man, however, uses a mechanical suit, one that could decipher the path, no matter how chaotic. He gestures the other two to Rip's location, as he flies there, followed by Thor, who's carrying Captain.

    Basement
Edward smiles as he goes about the ritual, and Bakura and Ganon can feel power in the air. Whatever they were being given was coming soon, and it felt...strange. Powerful, definitely, but not in the normal sense. Like they were being given a power far older than either of them.

"Do I?" He says. "I think you are the one who misunderstands. You seem to be under the impression that I need you. That you are in some way valuable to me. Perhaps you think I keep you around for your scintillating conversation, or artistic ability?" He has the perfect face and voice for sarcasm.
"This is not some neat battle, lines are drawn up and charges made. This is war, and your job is to win by any means I decide are necessary. If you can't, then I don't see much point in keeping you around. Understand?"

The Zeppelin hovers over the nearest settlement to Forks. La Push, the Indian reservation, was without portals to hell opening up everywhere. That suited him quite well.
The town had probably heard about Forks by now, so why play around? "Sergent, this shall be the site of our forward base. You shall command the squad that shall be in charge of clearing it out of the way. You have half an hour."

He then turns to Mercer. And he does a strange thing. He gets up, walks over and shakes the living plagues hand. Despite his size, he doesn't have much in the way of biomass. About half as much as he should.
His hand is soft, and weak. But this was a man who had charged machineguns with his men and a veteran of a thousand hopeless battles and sieges where he survived on nothing but sheer stubbornness. He may look like a soft, weak, middle aged man, but he was braver and tougher then any ancient hero you cared to name.
"Welcome to our army, Herr Mercer. Welcome. It is a pleasure to meet you."

    The Avengers
Rip skips back, and begins to load another bullet. Zorrin, however, begins her fight right away. She raises her arm, and her tattoos twitch, then come to life, wriggling and twisting, threatening to tear off her arm. Then they do, spreading on every surface until everything in sight is just walls of text and ancient runes, bar the glowing purple eye in the palm of her hand.
The runes rush over Thor, and he stops, confused.
He was just flying with his Avengers, and someone had shot Bruce banner. Now they hat too...
He was just flying with the Avengers, and someone had shot...
He was just flying with the Avengers, and...
    He was just flying...
He had been summoned to Asgard! His family were outfitted for war, armed and armored, faces lined with the determination of those who know the end is coming, and have decided to resist anyway.
They couldn't win, and they knew they couldn't. But they would fight nonetheless. It wasn't about winning. It was about standing for something, and meeting the end with all the dignity they could muster.
It shouldn't have ended like this. They deserved better, but they had no chance of avoiding it. He recognizes a few faces among the Einhajar, and momentarily has an urge to go over and speak to them, but he represses it, wanting to spend this last moment with his family he has been away from so long.
A hand clutches his shoulder. It's his father.

The Avengers are shocked as Thor stops flying, and simply hangs, motionless, as though cut off from his body. Zorrin is cackling, she's never used her powers on a god before.

"And I, you, Major," he replies, shaking back. He removes his hood, showing short, spiky black hair. He hasn't taken this off since his theoretical birth, so it was a sign of respect.
"I've seen what you've done with the place," he motions towards Forks," and I must say that I like it. It's an honor to work with you." This man was living up to Mercer's expectations and this decision was seeming more and more plausible by the second.

"No. They'll find a way back. But by the time they do, it will be too late." A screen flickers at some unseen signal, to show the watchtower spinning out into empty space, fully two thirds of their roster trapped within. More then a few big name heroes were desperately trying to pool their powers to find a way to fix it, but about all they'd managed was to keep the oxygen working.
"Nothing will interfere with this. I won't let it."

He stares at Landa, hate boiling through his veins like quicksilver. No words are spoken. There is no need to speak.

At his silent gesture, another car flings itself at Hans. Then another. Then another.

    Jerusalem

His bath completed, Jerusalem takes out his computer, frantically bangs keys together as a new column emerges, and then uses the television to order pay-per-view porn. Then another. Then another.

"Is everybody in this century a prude? This is just...horrible. So...vanilla. Where are the sex midgets? The puppets?"

    Crowley

He honks the horn of his car.

"Come on, ladies! I'll leave you here! I really will!"

    Spider-Man

He defers to Batman. Parker doesn't know the cowl has changed hands; to him, the Caped Crusader is the older, more experienced hero.

The figure that was once Landa leaps out of the away, the car missing him by a narrow margin. He doesn't loose control, his body lowering and drawing itself back into position with ease. If a normal human tried to move like that, they'd sprain every muscle in their legs and possibly their wrists. The second one he throws himself beneath, righting himself almost before it had finished passing over him, but the third on clips his shoulder, breaking it hideously and sending him staggering. But he rights himself far faster then he should, not even seeming to feel pain. His arm hangs by his side, flopping bonelessly, not healing, and the right side of his chest appears deflated, as though it was a football somebody stomped on.
He leaps at you, his remaining claw outstretched, like a great cat pouncing. There is as little metal in him as possible, either they intended him to kill you, or by simple coincidence his claws are silicon based and his enhancements are biological in nature. You're going to have to bore this out.

    Mercer
It is painful. Exactly what is being done should be discussed in the OOC thread, but the enhancements involve replacing tissues and brain surgery at the very least, so I can safely say we don't have words to describe exactly how painful it is.

    The Major
A hatch opens, and huge machines that have been slaved on for years by the remainder of Wolfensteins forces and scientific cops are unloaded, to be placed in the exact middle of the town. One by one, they start thrumming, ready to create a new race of soldiers. They just need fuel.

    Rasputin
The stars are mysterious things. Rasputin has died countless times, and each time wandered past the crystal spheres that enclose this reality, and seen the stars engraved upon the eternal glass. They move in a pattern, in a way so wild that modern man calls it 'the seasons', in a way so ordered the ancients called it chaos.

The ancients were wise beyond their primitive understanding.

Out, far out, beyond the blackest, coldest regions of space, is a place. A place so terrible, so incredibly damaging to life, that no mortal man can stand there and live. Which is all the more reason it is exceptional that Rasputin has been to that place. Rasputin has been to the place Hell prays to in fear at night. Rasputin has been to the prison of the Ogdru Jahad.

He has seen the Great Dragon dreaming, screaming, howling for escape. He stared into their colossal eyes and known the fire of God. He was purged by the Dragon, long ago. Once nothing more than an insane monk drenched in the stench of depravity and drunkenness. But that was not the Dragon's plan for him. The Ogdru Jahad's holy fire made a new man out of Rasputin, cleansed him of his earthly wants. Now he devoted himself to the Seven Gods of Chaos.

And they promised the same for the world. A cleansing fire, a glorious rebirth after one last holocaust of blood and destruction. Rasputin had tried once, twice, three times already, and failed. He had fallen to despair, resigned to live the rest of his unlife in the little acorn Grandmother kept him in.

But the Dragon spoke to him again. And Rasputin understood that faith, true faith, was continuing to try, no matter the squalls. It was picking yourself up again even if you knew you would fail. It was enduring failure for the promise of reward.

    And Rasputin moved again.

It was all coming back together. The plague of frogs was even now hatching across the free world. The Red Horseman rode out. It was time to shake the Dragon in his den again. It was the matter of -how- that confounded the Mad Monk...

It did not matter. The Dragon would show the way, as it had before. The stars were no longer mysteries; the stars were right.

Rasputin made his way over to the Major, once again half-requesting, half-demanding, "Major, it is time to begin the second part of Ragna Rok. I have another request, something more than a few guards and a nest. I need power, Major, an incredible amount of energy. It does not matter what; all that matters is that there is enough to blind the world with but a spark."

    The Apostles
On the other side of the ridge outside of forks, Zinco waited in anticipation. The valley behind the mountains was glowing. It had been difficult to transport this many resources across the sea and America, but Zinco had the resources to do it.

Scientists and technicians set up field-labs that sang with the bubbling of chemicals and crackled with electricity. Engineers pounded bolts in jet-packs, mobile suit mechas, and death beams. Klaus was in his tent, smoking a cigar with brandy to a recording of Parsifal.

Up on the top of the mountain, Kroenen looked down at Forks, at the destruction below. It was almost enough to send the gas-masked mad scientist into a fit of laughter. What could only be described as nearly two dozen metal coffins stood next to Kroenen. Wheezing into the walky-talky through his breathing mask, the re-animator was giddy as he called, "Klaus! Klaus, you should really see this! Just like the old days! Everything is in flames! I can see the little people running like ants!"

The shorter veteran came out of his tent and growled, "Focus, Johan. Remember our objective. Such dalliance is what led to our last failure. Or do I need to remind you of Von Klempt?"

"No, but there is no reason to quell my nostalgia tonight. Tell Zinco I'm releasing subjects one through twelve. Replaceable, but a good trial number."

    "As you say."

    The device phoned out. The coffins exploded open. Twelve corpses shambled out. Each was at least seven feet tall, lank but still muscled. They looked like they had been sewn together many times. Green light poured from holes and wounds on their body, while machinery whirred. Occasionally, a spark of emerald lightning trailed from their head and over a mechanical spine. On each zombie's head was the emblem of Project Ragna Rok;

Slowly, the corpses plodded down the mountain side towards Forks, leaving a trail of fetid slime and deep foot-prints. Kroenen knitted his fingers together and suppressed his joy again.

As the hatch on the Deus Ex Machina opens, Suika is there. She enters the zeppelin with a smile on her face.
"I don't want a fight, I just want to question the leader of this assault. I need to know where a certain Green Man named Ganon is," she says, looking out among the people there.

    The Major
"Sergent Ganon is currently supervising the extermination of pests." The major replies, then turns to the Captain. "This is supposed to be a mobile fortress. Why is it that anybody seems to be able to waltz in here and do as they will? Discipline whoever is monitoring security. Now."
The Captain salutes, and moves to carry out the orders.
Bellow, La Push, true to his word, is being decimated, every inhabitant put to the sword, or dragged over to be used as fuel in the machines. A cacophany of screams, tears and begging, the crack of flames and the snap of destruction, interwoven with screams of glee and hideous wild laughter. It was insane laughter, tinged as much with self hatred as hatred for the world. For this was the great power of Millenium, that they valued nothing in this life or the next, no human quality within themselves. The destruction was all that moved them now.
The soldiers turned monsters had become warriors and tacticians of ferocious skill and courage, careless of their own lives, corrupt of soul and mad of brain, haters of all that was not as evil and perverse as they are. They weilded power without morality, force without justice, cruelty without reason. Nothing excused them. They simply no longer had anyone holding the leash that restrained them, they instinctively recognized and defered to The Major, but only because in some animal way they recognized in him the ability to be truly evil, the antithesis of anything a human should strive to be, who had arrived to become one of the finest examples of his species in the most roundabout way imaginable.
That man has had no revelation, no higher purpose. Quite the opposite, at Warsaw he saw the futility of his cause, and the meaninglessness of his life. He saw how the ideal he pursued would become meaningless, and it would all be forgotten. He swa that the end had come, and that death would come. And he was offered a way to escape it.
And he refused, and kept his humanity anyway. And in the longrun, that had made him more powerful then the greatest of monsters, for he could choose to be otherwise and didn't.
The Major turns to the mystic, his eyes alight. He looks mad again. Madness was ever a part of the Major, usually under the surface but threatening to explode at the slightest opportunity. "Oh, you will have your power. You will have power beyond your dreams. We will build it for you soon. Soon. First, we must pile high the sacrifices, set our own pyres and build our own tombs. First we must be ready!"
"Into the breach once more, my friends! Let's burn this state to the ground by Nightfall, and leave not even insects behind!"

    Iron Man
The dandy man throws something, and the missiles are cut cleanly in half, both impacting around the building leaving the nazis untouched but obscuring them in a cloud of smoke. More cards shoot out, cutting into your armor and slicing through flesh as easily. You lose control of one of your boosters and fly around, losing ballence and control, to eventually crash at the roof of the bulding, to find an obscenely muscled woman waiting for you, holding a scythe.

    Thor
For a moment He sees the Face of Captain America, and goes over to speak with him, then he realizes it's just another bearded norseman.
Tyr, a gold cap over his right hand, stares at him. "Stand by me brother. Lets have an end worth remembering, eh?"

    Mercer
The surgery is over. The Doktor unrestrains you, and places a piece of wood on the table. "Try to absorb that." He says, curious at the resuly of his experimentation. The surgery was more hasty then he'd like, but he was really only repairing the rather slip-shod, clumsy manner the origonal creators had used.

    Magneto

As Landa lunges towards him, Max manipulates the Earth's magnetic field, allowing him to rise above the ground and take flight, avoiding the Jew Hunter's attacks. He uses Hans's momentum against him, sending a trash can lid at the man's face.

    Spider Jerusalem

    "****ing Whorehopper!"

Spider picks up a coaster, and throws it at the the television, shattering the screen.

"You heard Batman. I want a name. Right now, the blood's rushing to your head. You're going to black out soon. Tell me, and I'll cut you down."

A power source for the super soldier creating machines had been thoughtfully retrieved from the Antartic base, specifically listed by Deathshead, the mysterious device known only as Die Glocke. It was a Bell shaped steel device that housed somehting like a miniature Black Sun, and it could generate enough energy to power New York till the sun consumes the Earth. The soldiers were advised to keep a fair distance from it once it was activated, as it had strange effects on living creatures in the immedate vicinity, such as a field of anti-gravity that wpuld randomly generate, to transporting a being to another time and/or place. Prolonged exposure would cause cells to deteriorate, and the physical body to melt into a pile of goo.

What's left of Landa looses it's ballence for a moment, and turns to reveal a cracked lense over it's right eye. Green, viscous fluid is leaking out. The thing whirrs ominously, staring at you, then raises it's reamining hand. A long, thin, vaguely organic cable-like thing fires at you, wrapping around your leg. With a terrible force, it begins to retract, threatening to rip you're leg off.
As he was a hunter in life, The Doktor rebuilt him into a more efficient one.

    Ganon
You find yourself in the center of carnage as the men who are theoretically under your command slaughter everyone in sight, or drag them into Deathsheads machines and turn them into whatever they did. And in the middle, the lead lined machine hummed enough to make your teeth vibrate.
The Cannibal would be right at home here. He wouldn't even lead this battilion. They looked like men, but they weren't. Except their commander. He was, but somehow that only made it worse.

    The Apostles
Two men arrive. The clear leader hangs back. He's dressed in white, obviously in imitation of his commander, and looks smart in it. He has a delicate, fine-boned face, and long blond hair. Tiny spectacles perch in his nose, and he looks for all the world like he's a particularly prentious high-culture enthusiast. he walks with a slight skip, and their is a disdainful set to his lip. He looks like he looks down his nose at everything.
And then you met his eyes, and they almost made up for it. They were the eyes of someone who could already see you dead...
The other was dressed in a jumpsuit, and had a face covered in gold rings and piercings. He whistles. "So you're the old guard. F*cking a. Do you outrank me or what?"
Luke ignores him. "The Major instructs me I am to take these." He guestures at the patchwork corpses with a flick of his hand. "And try them out."

    Rasputin
The major points to the bell. "Herr Deathshead made the instrament of both our victories. When we are done, use it to work any devilry you can dream. For now, listen to the lamentations and be at peace."

She smiles again and hops out the Zeppelin, flying down towards the carnage and landing near Ganon.
"Ganon, why did you attack the Volturi?" she asks him, saving the fighting for another time. If this was truly Ganon, she would only be able to hold him off in a fight, leading to a stalemate.

    Mercer
He touches the wood and it conforms to a blackish color, then liquefying and becoming a part of him.
"Perfect, Doktor. I feel even stronger than I was before!" he says, nodding to the good man.

"You are." He replies. "You may find your body clumsy at first, but I improved your design and composition, streamlining away inefficient and superfluos systems. You'll find yourself far more effective as you are. Now, you'd best report for uniform, then to Rasputin."

"Thank you, Herr Doktor. I guess I'm going to get fitted for a uniform now. Where would I report for that?" he says, flexing his arms and standing up, examining his body.

As the Doktor said, your body is different. Your limbs are slightly longer, and respond faster. Even your perceptions and senses are different.
"The armory is ten rooms down, first leitenant." He says, carefully replacing his tools.
