Betty Scranton looked out at the rain. Work, or no? Most johns wouldn't bother going out on a night like this. Then again, most girls wouldn't either. And if she did get any business, she could always tell the boss that she stayed in like any sensible person would, and keep the night's income for herself. If the boss found out he'd beat the crap out of her, but that was nothing new. And every dollar she stashed was one dollar closer to that bus ticket out of this god forsaken city. Worth the risk. And worth going out in the rain.

She wore her usual gear, the only concession to the rain being the omission of mascara and exchanging her strappy high heels for a pair of tall boots. One rib of her umbrella was broken and repaired with a coat hanger wire, but it would do the job.

She headed out to her street corner, looking for business.

"I mean, every other guy you rob these days is either a mobster, a gangster, an undercover cop, or an eight-year-old." "And chances are he's a mobster, a gangster, or an undercover cop too." Herman shrugs. "Oh well, it's not like they don't have any money."

Herman empties his talking glass of moonshine, gets up, sneaks past the barkeep, and goes off to knock someone over the head with a blunt object and take his cash. Two dark alleys later, he runs into Fleeing Coward.

Cedric was looking over his new hotel: The Grand Bill Hotel, and thinking that he could have built the hotel at just the wrong time. Still making a central place for any sort of business would help him a lot. He had been given permission to add a casino and the ladies of the night to the hotel by the Mafia, though they had demanded a big share of the profits. Still there should be enough business to make him rich. Now the only question was where was Fat Tony with the girls?

It was morning the small apartment i call home was begining to brigthen up with the midday sun, I look at my clock "12:30? Damn." I was supposed to meet Cedric a 10:00.

So many questions unanswered. Would he get his status back? Could stepping outside the city cure this? Why hasn't he tried it? Where's his vodka?

Kyrian groans as he sits up and walks over to the dresser. There, twin revolvers wait for him and slowly he straps them onto his waist. A bracer sits nearby, and soon that is situated on his left wrist. A small glow emits from the small grooves in the bracer, then fades away.

Hmm, wonder if I'll be running into that Thufir today...
