Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
I'll PM them, if you want. When DM77 came back to run Classisc XI(?), I PM'd lots of long missing players to play his game. And some did. And some PM'd me just to say thanks for thinking of them, but they can't right now. But they didn't mind being asked.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Really? Dominated by Masons? I want to see that game log...
I mean, Masons are just an arbitrary group, assigned at random at the beginning of the game. Even if I include them (which I might not) they have no reason to _dominate_ particularly, or even not backstab each other for five minutes. Perhaps it's a function of the traditional WW paranoia that other groups of people don't form organically? Or maybe there was a rule difference which led yours to play differently? Maybe I should give everyone a preassigned Masonic group and see if they stick.
@Sapo, IF pretty much said what I was going to say. I'd like to add that, because of the election mechanic, power roles aren't that useful without help. I might have some balance tweaks to make to information dissemination, though... see my original post for a few slight changes.Last edited by BobTheFerret; 2011-03-25 at 04:37 PM.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Except for the fact Trixie rolled all the meanest players in that game (Tsofu excluded :P) into a mason group. And, they had a rule letting them win without town. So, they about did just that, even including open collaboration with wolves, the whole manoeuvring was about placing the only wolf who could kill them despite their hogged Baner power into a lynch, IIRC.
I remember I managed to fool masons pretending I was a wolf for two days in that one, and would do a bit of damage to their plans of wolf cooperation, but as usual, no one listened to me and they used wolf kill to stab my villager face :>

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Oh, and the link to the relevant game - was loads of fun*. ^^
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136910
*Fun in a way I believe it is hard to script, it just sort of happens.
Unfortunately the places of power were not utilized to their fullest as the people with the dullest powers were "hogging" them.
Oh, and the victory-conditions for the mason group aren't listed openly so I think I'll include them here for future reference.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Trixie's game does indeed seem interesting; however, I don't think my game would run into the same problems with small groups dominating, since her game had a group victory condition for the Masons. My game can't end in group victory, so no groups are likely to form and cohere.
I'm not sure how many players my idea would run best with, and suggestions would be appreciated. I'm thinking I'll want to start with 18 players, both because small groups will probably be more energetic and because (assuming I understand the rules) that's the only way I'll be able to slip into the schedule anytime soon. (Speaking of schedule... will someone tell me when to go? Or do I just get to name a time? When should I make a thread?)Last edited by BobTheFerret; 2011-03-26 at 07:05 PM.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Just to be clear, that is the correct procedure for a small (20 players or less) game, but if you want to create a larger game in future you will have to sign up for a spot on the schedule.
But since 18 is less than 20, in this instance you may go forth and create your thread!"'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
... Okay, well... I tried to post as WW Isocerne City last night, but it seems to be taking a really long time to get moderated. How long does this usually take, exactly?
Meh, whatever. Whenever it appears, I'm open for recruitment. The rules are slightly different from the ones in this thread; I'm still OK with discussing changes up until I start, though.Last edited by BobTheFerret; 2011-03-27 at 01:19 PM.

No. I liked 3 of your games, 100%. I liked one of your games, lets say.... 50%. So I liked 3 1/2 of all of your games.
And I love the avvie. It's very pretty. Can I have one?
