Neat. Like the white coat, highlighting worked well there, Same with Perdita's top.

On the ronin, going punk colors? I think you blended the not natural hair color of pinkish purple well.

    Thanks.
Not necessarily "punk" colors, the picture on the card for that one had pinkish-purple hair, so I thought, "Why not," and gave it a try.

EDIT: I'm hoping to finish the other two Ronin, and the three Death Marshals today. They're all pretty close to being done, but I have to go out and buy Rising Powers (and hopefully Wrath) a bit later.

If the brass is small or dull maybe... but yea I don't think really shiny and camo go well.

Overall, like the new work too, but the glasses/goggles on the ronin looks like it bled a little onto the rims, you might be able to correct that with a sharpie, or a quick brush work.

Brass and camo looks fine on my Hunter Warjack but its not exactly "shiny".

Yeah, I saw that after I posted the pics. There's this tiny rim between the glass and leather. I'm going to try to make it brass again.

You're talking about the Federated States of America Royal Dominion of the Americas, son. We don't use non-shiny brass.

I love the little arm fins on the power armour guy. Only commentary on Arjac is that in the picture he looks to be hiding behind the shield too much. Is it possible to lower the arm slightly to show more of his face?

Managed to finish my last contest entry. This is something I've wanted to do for over a year. My wife gave me this Dark Sword Hunting Wolf mini for my birthday last year. I'm really happy to have a chance to paint him up. I styled him after a Red Wolf. The bushes were fun to make and turned out better than I expected. The unfortunate bunny is a Reaper mini.

    Thanks guys

For the bushes I did the following:
    1. pulled apart some steel wool to gather some strands
    2. twist the center of the bunch together to create a trunk for the bush
    3. superglue and let dry
    4. cut the bundle in half at the glue point to create 2 bush armatures
    5. arrange the steel fibers to create arough bush and clip away wild strands
    6. airbrushed the wire armatures brown, then washed with Babab Black for the bark
    7. use spray adhesive on the top and sides
    8. quickly dip the armature into some flock

Once that was done I airbrushed some green in successively lighter shades to create the look I wanted for the foliage. I also suggest wrapping the trunk of the bush with masking tape so you have a larger handle to hold onto and to protect it from the green paint when you do the leaves.

The rocks are actually pine bark mulch- it's an old railroad trick, because it look like shale. Once I glued the bark in place I created a paste using white glue and some basing sand, about a 1:1 mix, and spread it over the whole area where I wanted soil.

So, I have an old incomplete (missing 1 pawn) plastic chess set and I was wondering if I could use it for something Warhammer 40k-related. Any ideas? I've thought about just glueing them to bases and using them as miniature proxies or objective markers or some such, but there should be something more fun to do with them, right?

Use them as decoration for anything where a giant chess piece might fit in. A Lord of Change, maybe?

CT, amazing work on the wolf and rabbit. What was your process for the fur, or more specifically where the red meets the balck?

Ichneumon, you could do an urban bit of terrain where it's one of those novelty giant chess sets they have in parks. Make it a full terrain piece with a game in progress (preferably one move from mate) with a few pieces scattered about the board and the rest piled up in a couple of big bunches for more significant cover.

Working on my Mass Effect minis - Tali's mostly done, just some cleanup of the putty, her left hand and attaching her right arm. Shepard needs her hair re-attached. Liara's head's curing as we speak , and her body's completly almost done save her neck, due to her head not being attached (sounding a little too creepy there).

    So here's Tali:

I'll be doind Shepard, Liara, Tali, Garrus, Kaiden, Ashley, Jacob, Miranda, Kasumi and Thane. The Krogans and Mordin are problematic as finding a suitable base is proving tricky. I also haven't found a good one for Zaeed yet.
I'm waiting to see Jack's ME3 look before I do her, as I think her current look is stupid. I'd like to do Kelly, Joker, and Anderson, but they're lower on the list
    Princess in the streets.
    Princess in the sheets.
    Don't touch me I'm royalty.
