Now firstly, you've assumed I have the undead type. This was a mistake. And you can feel free to load me up with Holy type effects all you like. I may even dance for you. On the upside, the resurrection broke the mute effect, so I suppose I should thank you for that, but I have a little matter to go attend to in town.

Qwaz again stood in candlelight looking at maps and strategy papers, though he now felt a lot more vulnerable in a tent than the strong brick walls of the Hunters Lodge. The days since the first encounter with Sephiroth had not been kind to him; there had been little sleep since, and the gut wrenching death of Auron the previous night had just made things worse.

Qwaz knew he was a dead man walking.

“If only I had some leverage. An item to use, anything!”

The quiet man beside him nodded and headed out of the tent, presumably for such an item. A Murasame, a Black Mage…or even better, a Bevelle Candle. Qwaz stood alone over the map, trying to work out where everything had gone wrong.

“It’s hard to know who to trust anymore, with the Remnants in our midst and the Al-Bhed having their own agenda. I wonder what the heck they’re doing, they must know we’re desperate!”

“Hedging their bets most likely Qwaz. Very wise I would say.”

Sephiroth stood in the entrance to the tent, his crooked smile not reaching his dead eyes. The scars from the confrontation with Auron were already beginning to fade. It had cost the Remnants much, but it was clear to Qwaz in that moment who had gained more from the battle.

If only Auron were there now.

Qwaz tensed and threw the strategy table at Sephiroth and lunged for the exit, just avoiding the Remnants outstretched arm as he jinked out into the cool night air. He charged through the motley assortment of tents and lean-to’s, wild-eyed and shouting at the top of his straining voice.

“Sephiroth! Everyone! Watch out, the Remnants are amongst us!”

Most of the camp awoke just in time to see Sephiroth impale the brave Auroch on his blade, and push him bodily into the screaming sea. By the time the survivors had scrambled for their weapons the Remnant was already gone.

Near the ruins on the far edge of the beach, the quiet man smiled.

The mood is sombre when dawn breaks over the mourning camp. Their leader gone, put to the sword just like their protector scant hours before, things look hopeless.

And they’re about to get worse.

The tortured screech of metal heralds the arrival of another of the Al-Bhed’s Machina constructs, this one a huge lumbering behemoth of corrugated steel, oil, and chains.

The Machina is likely to take out anyone sent forth to face it, that’s for sure. What’s more uncertain is just who the Al-Bhed are targeting, the survivors or the Remnants?

Summary

Qwaz was killed by the Remnants. He was Keepa, a Besaid Auroch!

The Al-Bhed have released a Machina into the Besaid refugee camp.

I also recommend voting for only wolves. Wolves should all attempt to lynch Qwaz just to make sure he's really dead.

Ramsus looks suspicious to me. Most days, he eagerly leaps onto bandwagons. After we found Helgraf, he continued to point at him even though we knew he could defeat the encounter.
