On another note, I think writing this fanfic is the third time I've managed to cry while writing something. Usually, as an author, I've found it easy to take a step back and look at the story objectively, removing a lot of my emotional attachment to the characters and effectively ending whatever emotion is was that was going to make me cry in the first place. I guess it's somewhat harder to do for a fanfiction in a story that isn't finished yet. For all I know, the sad backstory I've crafted for one of the two characters is completely true.

Right now, my fanfic is approximately...*counts up pages of scrawled writing accumulated through bus trips and boring lectures*...2800 words. And I'm still a decent ways from being done. And then I have to type it all up, second-drafting it while doing so, then edit it...All in all, it's going to be a while. But when it's done, it's probably going to be long and dialogue-oriented.

Lexington is a half-elf with a snaggletooth. Coffee even said so when he was first introduced.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall her ever saying what his other half is... Just making an observation.

I believe you mean the half-elf template isn't core. I'm certain if you looked hard enough you could find one.

Checking ethics at the door for a moment, it should probably still be noted that
    a) Coffee uses templates
    b) The Kagoan Militia has a regimental hairstyle
    and
    c) Black is by far the most common hair colour amongst the Kagoan people, if my memory of Murphy's Law related facts is the case.

Are you sure one of those specific dead guys actually wiped out a drow village in the comic? The human on our left with the pony tail and the brown boots does look like a Kagoan we've seen before, but really - can that be confirmed or denied on the basis of boots that I think are just like Lloyd's, a Kagoan breast plate and a regimental hair style?

Judging by Mr Blue Boots in the second panel though, I'm sorta tempted to agree that this'll turn out to have been one of Lloyd's contemporaries - maybe the one from his village? If it is though - have we actually seen him since the massacre? I don't know that we saw him killing any more drow than we saw Lloyd kill. It was a mob that attacked the village, not one guy.

If you meant the pale green guy or the mage, then I guess my recognition skills need scratching up. I got the impression from the dialogue though that the guys had been strung up for being Plaavan sympathists. Which rather would imply that ...Geoffrey? Didn't deserve that fate much more than Lloyd does. Not that I've seen you say that Lloyd doesn't deserve this fate; I'm making assumptions there, I guess.

ETA: Looking back through the first Kago arc it would seem that Mr Dead Guy Brown Boots wasn't present at the scene. Mr Living Guy Blue Boots, on the other hand, was. I don't know if we saw Geoffrey after he went off to join the army or not (having been enlisted as per The Abridged Edition).

Parts of my speculation are included in my fanfic. I've finished the first draft, by the way. Unfortunately, that first draft is all on paper, so I'll need to type it out. Even more unfortunately, my computer is sick, so it's going to be a while until I can get it typed. But once I do, it's gonna be awesome...hopefully...and pretty weird in places.

I have the sneaking suspicion that someone whose name we know is going to end up hanged by the end of this mini-arc. Also, we might see that "ambassador" coming back to Kago to give his news.

My troper sense tells me something very, very bad is going to occur in Trassix soon after this mini-arc to counterbalance all the good and peaceful things that have happened there. My pet theory for this is that Rust is going to see the refusal of the "ambassador" as an act of war and arrange for Riley to be assassinated at his coronation, giving Kago the perfect opportunity to storm Trassix with ten thousand troops...

I have an active imagination, alright?

Hey Coffee, I've got a question that concerns my fanfic. The answer shouldn't affect the fanfic very much (if at all) but I'm a little curious - roughly how far is Kago's capital city away from the place where Janine grew up? I figured since you have all of Aequar mapped out in geographically-accurate detail that you'd be able to give me an answer without too much effort.

I don't do speculation (much), since I'm never ever right. However, I'd say that the mages are about to rebel, not realizing the true power that Rust has over the Kagoan army and Rust's true nature.

    They'll be crushed.

    A) Why is Radic shapeshifting - or fighting for that matter - in the last month or so of her pregnancy?!
    B) I seem to recall coffee saying that fetuses are put into a demi-plane or something until she shapeshifts back. Or Shapeshifts with the mother and back, i don't remember =/

I said that wild-shaping while pregnant is incredibly dangerous and most druids don't do it unless they absolutely have to.

And I agree with HalfTangible, Radic would never wildshape or fight in the last month or so of her pregnancy unless she absolutely had to.
