Re: Vampire V : Paris by Night...
The night starts out like each before it of late - fog rolling into the city off the banks of the Seine.
Here and there the fog parts, revealing disquieting scenes.
Outside the Opera house, a small gathering of dark-robed figures gathers up the ashen remains of super dark33; scooping up every last bit of ash, soil, and bone fragments before slipping away into the fog...
In another building, a body thrashes on the floor; limbs pulsing and twisting; blood seeps across the floor and occasionally spatters one of the walls.
Another street, another home. A large, disgusting rat scurries about the walls, climbing up to windows, peering in and then hissing in disappointment. One direction or another or another, whatever it sees is not what it was expecting. Shortly before dawn, it scurries off.
Shortly before dawn, a horrific baying begins; the sound starts in one part of the city, then is picked up in another, as though to challenge the sun itself for mastery as the feeble orb slowly crests the horizon. The clouds blot it out entirely within minutes.
And the hunched beggar sits in the middle of the square as the rain begins to fall, arms spread wide and palms skyward, laughing, laughing laughing...
Night ends and Day 11 begins...Catatar made for me many years ago ... pretty sure by banjo1985

All the waiting, all the waiting... It had come down to this. His lover revealed, her "companions" dead and gone. At the bus stop, he was ready for Lord Loss.

Re: Vampire V : Paris by Night...
Well, with over 75% of the lynch vote, it isn't looking good for Lord Loss. For the remaining ~25%, you've got approximately 8 hours to get your votes in.

Re: Vampire V : Paris by Night...
Save for a handful of people who issued no vote whatever, it seemed all Paris was unanimous in their desire to see the monsters removed from their city. And the monster in question was Lord Loss.
Track down this murderer
he must be found...
It had all been going so well ... he'd been well on his way to spreading the infection to the populace. He'd gotten those fool Vampires to not only infuse him with their power, but to make him the incarnation of the Drakul. He'd lied, cheated and manipulated everyone to achieve his goals.
Hunt out this animal, who runs to ground!
Too long he's preyed on us - but now we know
And if he'd had one more night ... just one, he knew he would have succeeded. Paris would have been his new kingdom; his paradise - and he would not have been greedy with it, not like the Vampires. No, he would have shared it with the people, shared his vision, his gifts.
And now?
Who is this monster, this murdering beast?
Revenge for Lamech!
Revenge for Van Helsing!
This creature must never go free ...
Now it had all come apart. The Parisians feared him even as they howled for his blood. The Vampires abandoned him. His fellow Nobles turned him out, and his final gambit had failed on both counts.
Hounded out by everyone!
Met with hatred everywhere!
No kind word from anyone!
No compassion anywhere!
So be it. If they would seek a monster, they would find one.
With a defiant roar, Lord Loss shifted into his rarely used war form; enhanced by the vampire blood flowing through his veins.
He bounded up the stairs, taking them four at a step; crashing through the door at the top. Matthias2207 stands there, a bayoneted musket in his hands as something formed out of the stuff of his nightmare blows through the door, breaking one of the hinges with the impact. He aims and fires; the musket ball strikes square in the chest.
It is not enough. Claws sink into flesh and tear in opposite directions, pulling Matthias apart in a spray of blood and organs. Before the remains of the body hits the floor, Lord Loss is already moving again; his fury rising as he sees one of the hated nobles who betrayed him, still wearing his feathered mask. His quarry runs, and his blood sings as his two natures unify - for all of his blood is the blood of a hunter.
Around the corner, and the burr of a rapier blade penetrating his skin - the fool has stopped running. Which means he is dead. Oversized clawed hands grab the fools' head, jerking him forward; enlongated muzzle snaps on either side and tears, pulling off the mask and scoring deep lacerations to both sides of the face.
Something is wrong - he can tell immediately. The broken noble in his hands, despite the intense pain of his wounds, is mocking him once more; laughing with what little breath remains in his lungs. Why?
Then a new thunder rolls in Paris, the sound of massed gunfire. Rounds fill the air; several striking the body of Mustiado, far more slamming into the monster assaulting him; driving him back ...
... and then his hearing, nearly deafened by the cascade of gunfire, picks up a shouted order.
Artillery
He hears the roar of the cannon discharge, throwing himself flat to the ground; the round passing through the space he'd occupied less than a second prior.
And now ... now they were his. He drew up to his full height, let out a bloodcurdling roar.
And that was when the wall, weakened by the cannon fire, collapsed on him. Several tons of marble drove him to his knees, to his belly.
He lay there, buried by a weight too terrible for even his greatly enhanced strength to move, bleeding and broken. The last thing he saw was a boot. The last thing he felt was a circle of cold metal against the base of his neck.
Then there was one last report - and the life went out of him.
Lord Loss was lynched - he was some sort of abominable monster
Mustiado was autolynced - he was the Master Politician (and as such, his role is revealed on his death)
Matthias2207 was autolynched
