[3.5] Straightforward 10 Lvl Vampire Prc
I'd like to ask for a few comments for the following idea. Its not yet an evolved concept, sorry for any disappointment.
In 3.5 the vampire template in fact just cripples most player characters due to its ridiculously high LA. What do you think about turning it into a 10 Level PrC for non-spellcasting characters (with spellcasters things get complicated and potentially to powerful, if it simply grants +1 caster level advancement at each level). The details about getting which abilities at which level can be left aside at this moment of the thought. The idea is that when you take the last 10. level of the prc you have everything the vampire template offers (including the weaknesses), albeit you gain "real" levels (hitdice, saving throws adjustment, skill points etc etc) instead of LA, perhpabs with full BA (remember: i'm just having non-spellcasters in mind at this point).
I know that given entry at level 6 (5 levels something, 1 level vampire) one would be level 15 when your're a complete vampire. At that level casters can imitate most of your abilities. But ignoring this point, what do you think about this simple concept?
It might be necessary to create feats similar to "Ascetic Rogue" and so on, so that you can stack your vampire levels with important abilities of your base class, though.

It was a part of someone's homebrew sig.
If i find it, i'll give you a shout.
