Perhaps you are referring to this:

    MM1, pp. 312:
Nonabilities: Some creatures lack certain ability scores. These creatures do not have an ability score of 0—they lack the ability altogether. The modifier for a nonability is +0. Other effects of nonabilities are detailed below.
Strength: Any creature that can physically manipulate other objects has at least 1 point of Strength.
A creature with no Strength score can’t exert force, usually because it has no physical body (a spectre, for example) or because it doesn’t move (a shrieker). The creature automatically fails Strength checks. If the creature can attack, it applies its Dexterity modifier to its base attack bonus instead of a Strength modifier.
Dexterity: Any creature that can move has at least 1 point of Dexterity.
A creature with no Dexterity score can’t move (a shrieker, for example). If it can perform actions (such as casting spells), it applies its Intelligence modifier to initiative checks instead of a Dexterity modifier. The creature automatically fails Reflex saves and Dexterity checks.
Constitution: Any living creature has at least 1 point of Constitution.
A creature with no Constitution has no body (a spectre, for example) or no metabolism (a golem). It is immune to any effect that requires a Fortitude save unless the effect works on objects or is harmless. For example, a zombie is unaffected by any type of poison but is susceptible to a disintegrate spell. The creature is also immune to ability damage, ability drain, and energy drain, and automatically fails Constitution checks. A creature with no Constitution
cannot tire and thus can run indefinitely without tiring (unless the creature’s description says it cannot run).
Intelligence: Any creature that can think, learn, or remember has at least 1 point of Intelligence.
A creature with no Intelligence score is mindless, an automaton operating on simple instincts or programmed instructions. It has immunity to mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects) and automatically fails Intelligence checks.
Mindless creatures do not gain feats or skills, although they may have bonus feats or racial skill bonuses.
Wisdom: Any creature that can perceive its environment in any fashion has at least 1 point of Wisdom.
Anything with no Wisdom score is an object, not a creature. Anything without a Wisdom score also has no Charisma score.
Charisma: Any creature capable of telling the difference between itself and things that are not itself has at least 1 point of Charisma.

I'm not sure that's really worth recording. Most of the posts saying he was weren't actually meant seriously in the first place.

The stuff in that thread about character deaths, on the other hand, definitely should be. I'd recommend this post as well. There's also confirmation in there that Nale's death did occur partially because he thought he was untouchable (as opposed to the argument I've seen advanced that he was just too angry to care).

That post also confirms that Sangwaan is indeed dead. I know that's incredibly obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people have contested it and claimed "well, we can't be SURE she's dead". But now we can be.

Saagwaan was a villain, though--she is actually the cat girl on Tarquin's team (just like Geoff is a simalucron for Miron, and the barbed devil Durkon called is actually Laurin). And we didn't see the Xs in her eyes, so she "died" off-panel, which means she isn't really dead unless we see the body! And half the time not even then! But the heroes have to think she is dead until they encounter her again.

The thing with Saangwan: There's a thread where the "kills" for each character are added up. The rules for that thread include one that we have to actually see the "X"s in the eyes for it to be a kill. Therefore, technically Saangwan didn't count as dead for the purposes of that thread, which is a bit different than saying that she might be alive.

Plenty of people were saying she might be alive, too.

It'd be a stretch to call Sangwaan "developed." I don't think the Giant's new post confirms anything as far as she's concerned.

(I think she's dead, but hey, I didn't think that Malack was a vampire.)

That's more or less what Rich was actually saying:

If the character isn't important enough to die through their own agency, even indirectly, then they're not important enough to learn much about in the first place.

Saangwan is a good example. She totally got killed not as a result of her own choices, except maybe her choice to be there on the wall in the first place. But we also know almost nothing about her. How did she get her powers? Was she born blind? What did she think or feel about what was happening? We don't know. And that's on purpose.
(I'm reeeeaaally confused why people are fixating on that part of the post, BTW. As someone who wasn't even lurking during WaXP's online run, was Sangwaan an 'ensemble darkhorse' or something)?

People liked her and endlessly speculated what had happened to her. Around the time the resistance arc came up and she was nowhere to be found, it finally died down.

But, well, Never Found The Body in a forum full of people who like to think themselves as Genre Savvy.

Also, Nale did not realize he was so heavily wounded.

More importantly, the damage modifier on Tarquin's attack was exactly plot.

Seeing as his statement that the dagger did "1d4+Plot" damage is followed by the words "in all seriousness, [blah blah blah]," that probably shouldn't factor into the thread's synopsis of Rich's statement.

Indeed; Nale being left incredibly wounded like that was why my IRC buddies and I were predicting Tarquin would kill him in a matter of panels. Why wouldn't he just get a potion or heal from someone in Tarquin's massive army? So he can be left vulnerable for a dramatic one-shot.

This idea was probably ingrained in our heads from a certain joke near the end of Haleo and Julelan.

Actually, that's probably a useful thing to have confirmed by Word of God, because before I was, like, ten years old, I simply didn't believe it was true.

    That's an interesting point.
