It's a thing to bring up fantasy gaming comedic web-comics and pretentiously criticize them for copying OoTS, when the only similarities are...fantasy gaming and comedy.

All the arrows do seem to be pointing toward that currently, yes. We'll see if there's a twist but fur will fly and I can't wait to see Emily and Angelika duel it out. Very much in theme for the current arc.

Well I was more referring to the fact this is (at least) the second time someone has created an account, made an "outraged" topic, and then never posted again (admittedly, this person posted twice, but then never posted again). This gives a reasonable probability that the topic creator in fact was just doing this to try to give the comic attention.

Been reading it. About halfway through, and so far it's pretty decent. I will echo what other people have said though: I had no freaking idea Pauline was female for a considerable amount of time.

Well, how about some misogyny to wash away the homophobia? No? It's not working? Oh well.

I'd say something about the "fan-service" going on with the main character and, mostly, the blonde pigtailed chick; but I'd feel dumb talking about male gaze on stick figures. It's there, though; just stupid.

No, I just completely zapped out what you were replying to (despite the quote ) and thought you were tired of seeing in the comic what we were discussing in the previous page, e.g.:

In addition to the Angelo and Brian thing, there is the running joke about whatsisface, the husband, being a closeted gay who married to convince himself that he was straight, in which the punchline is always "and then maybe I was gay!" There is also the truly awful running "Twisted Fruit" joke that starts at 169 and continues until that character (the only other gay person, who is also conveniently evil) is killed with a "twisted smoothie" joke.

It probably continues past there, but that was really the point where I quit the comic in disgust.

I think the most recent MLA stripis referring to the whole elf/human thing, which the cultist people seem down on (well, they hate elves, so one follows from the other).

Didn't Angelicka mention something at one point about their dad being angry about Julie marrying Lenny? I was unsure whether this was because of his race, his sexuality, or anything else (there are a whole load of potential reasons).

I think it has to do with Profession because what kind of Noble (Julie was to be a diplomat) want their daughter to marry a commoner who works in dangerous jobs, like stabbing people.
What I mean by White and black intermarriage is that I never notice that Julie is disguised as Elves and When Lenny says that she is his wife, the cultist thought that she's an elf.

I don't think OLA and OotS have much to do with each other creatively, other than they both use stick figures. OLA doesn't do nearly the amount of game mechanic humor that OotS does by any stretch, so I'm doubtful OLA's writers were referencing a fairly old OotS comic, especially without OLA linking back to it. If anything, the Souballo Empire is rather racially intolerant, especially towards elves, given their resistance against the Empire in their movements. Angelo's Kids aren't exactly open-minded about other races, either, given they have a tendency to 'purify' places they wish to expand to.

In this case, given the troupe of Angelo's Kids they're currently with don't seem to know at the moment that the elf in the party is Julie, it's probably a comment on a human-elf marriage.

I have a preference for PF half-elves over D&D half-elves outside Diplomancy and messing with Paragon classes but here we are.

...What the hell would be the point of that? If he wanted some publicity he would have just said that he was the comic creator and made a thread here! Nobody was agreeing with him so he just left cause things got awkward.

And seriously, some people are calling the webcomic homophobic cause the main villains are a gay couple? I'm pretty damn sure thinking that gay cant be evil is whats homophobic here. The main male hero is bixesual for crying out loud! Anyway, yeah, Emily is probably a spy but for who? I dont actually think shes working for the empire cause the heroes are already quite outnumbered as it is, one ice AoE spells in the back would be pretty much all it would take to bring them down at this point.

Well, according to the lore. Bretons are descended from Elves and Human intermarriages (Ugly backstory as pleasure slaves and concubines). Does the half elf different from human with elven ancestary.

I guess that depends on the setting. Usually half-elves are the first generation. Bretons seem to be more like men of Numenor, only with uglier backstory.

It's a ploy, I say, a ploy to lull the party further into unwaryness toward Emily, especially since Julie found her out for spying on her in the woods. Helping them now against Angelo's Kids can only setup a greater betrayal in the future, when the time and place can be made more advantageous than what the AKs can manage with their hamfistedness.

Also, I agree with Seth, specific link is better than generic link.

It's an elf, they all have longswords, it's a racial feature.

Confusion and Invisibility makes me think probably Wizard. Can't really say if s/he is multiclassed with a more martial class till we see it actually fight, since it's only thrown spells and run away so far.

Theres no s/he involved here. Its a guy, its the son of the Barmaid, we already meet him when Angelika went to buy her new tents.

So it is. Also, hurray missing visual gag from a dozen or two comics ago that I looked back on to see for myself that it was an established character. Now that I recall who it is, I think he's probably too absent-minded to have noticed a little detail like that, considering the state of his shop.
