His current chassis is an experimental army model. It used to have a laser cannon, but that got removed.

His original chassis was obsolete, yes. Which is why he got an upgrade.

I think that was his first replacement chassis. Back when he first got knees and elbows to use. And no killbot, it was an fbi agent that was terrified of dora from when they went to school together. Canary yellow dress wearing faye knocked him out with a judo chop, dora switched chassis so the agent wouldnt nab pintsize, and that was more or less that. Ignoring the various things pintsize melted with his laser.

I like how this comic has nearly twice the amount of panels as normal. Sure, they may be only half as small, but in this case it allows Jeph to make more use of the same space, rather than leave big open holes. (Those sometimes are nifty if he's experimenting with perspective and angles or puts older characters or references in the background though.)
