Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Soulsilver Run
Lots o progress since the last time I updated. Retired Bullet and Snozey (neither are dead). Had a Farfetch'd named Sir Leeks that died. Thanks to my overcaution when trying to catch pokemon box 1 is almost 2/3rds full. I'm all the way up to the 8th gym now with a woefully underleveled team from trying to distribute exp evenly and I am not looking forward to the grind. Any particular recommendations? I'm thinking level Jaws and Fluffy for the gym fight. Jaws can deal with most of the dragons with Ice Fang and for those that aren't weak to it I'll have Fluffy come in and start zapping.
Lvl 37 Jaws the Feraligater
Lvl 35 Fluffy the Ampharos
Lvl 34 Hope the Togetic
Lvl 32 Pepper the Flareon
Lvl 34 Stabs the Nidoqueen
Lvl 28 Rocks the Sudowood
Deaths
SpoilerChipy the Radicate
Blossom the Oddish
Sir Leeks the Farfetch'd
edit: Especially looking for recommendations on where to grind for the most exp.Last edited by userpay; 2012-09-11 at 11:10 AM.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Route 44 grass is good for levelling anything that can land super effective hits on grass types (which I would guess is 3-4 of your pokes) and surfing on the same route will probably do well for the ampharos, but you may need to attach an Exp. Share to Sudowoodo and only bring it out against Lickitungs...

Nope, no rock head. I'll probably replace him with Dratini or something if I get one.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
I'm thinking of making a 2v2 team, since I've never really explored that option ever (before jumping into 3v3s and rotations). One combo I'm having some hanging issues deciding - does anyone know if Sweeper + Healer works? The two I'm looking to use are Cloyster and Audino, with the following stats:
Spoiler
Cloyster (252 attack, 252 spd, 6 hp) Focus Band
Skill Link
Adamant nature
Shell Smash
Ice Shard
Icicle Spear
Rock Blast
Audino (252 hp, 252 spd, 6 def) Light Clay
Healer
Jolly nature
Helping Hand
Heal Pulse
Reflect
Light Screen
But then, I had an idea: Simple Beam makes the target's ability become Simple. Which means Cloyster's Shell Smash would make it -2 def, -2 sdef, +4 att, +4 satt, +4 spd. However, I wouldn't be able to rely on Skill Link, which would make my choice of moves a wee bit smaller. I also have no idea what I'm doing in 2s, so :I.Last edited by Derjuin; 2012-09-11 at 11:56 PM.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
no... it would make it -2 for defenses, not -4. Also the move pool issue can be solved by running a special set with surf, ice beam, and hidden power fighting.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Does anyone know of a good remix fusing the R/S/E regi-trio theme with the Rayquaza theme from the same games? I can find plenty of seperate ones, and I can simply play those at the same time manually, but it's tricky to get them synchronized when doing so.
Please?

Why not use download the musics and put them together in Audacity?

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Oh bluhhhh, that's crap. Apparently Keldeo is BANNED in the battle subway (why??? none of the other swordsmen are). Also I just now got into the Dream World - it was quite fun! A question for those more experienced with it - can you bring back more than 1 pokemon per visit? I'm hunting for a Vulpix with its hidden ability, but I don't want to miss the others available...

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Only one at a time; the extra spots on the Friend Board are for promotional Pokemon, like the current Porygon promo. Since you say this is your first time in the DW, one thing of note: Vulpix will not show up in the Pleasant Forest until you have 10000 Dream Points.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
boj0 will get internet back around Tuesday!
In the meantime enjoy this tasty video
Wrapping up this challenge was crazier than I thought, between how well the team ended up working and the hassle with the internet at the end; I must say that I enjoyed the experience overall.
10/10 would try it againOnce you go blue, nothing else will do. Once you go Quarian...someone will die.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Shame Rapidash seemed to be the least useful there, but what can you say with a team with a surprising success rate? I must admit, Stunfisk is surprisingly potent. What nature/EVs did you use of that? (You might have said, but I can't remember.)
(I'm wondering whether to try using something similar on my nominal Magnemite/Magneton whrn I get as far as my second BW2 game.)Last edited by Aotrs Commander; 2012-09-15 at 07:03 AM.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Yeah I never really found my groove with Rapidash, so it was hard to get decent footage.
Stunfisk, if I recall correctly, was
Static
Bold
Leftovers
252 HP/252 Def/6 SpDef
Scald
Toxic
Discharge
Earth PowerOnce you go blue, nothing else will do. Once you go Quarian...someone will die.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
So. I'm thinking of using a Gliscor in my Elite Four party for Pokemon Black.
So far, I'm thinking Impish Nature.
Any suggestions for moves?Busy with Life
