Kazumi - If you're married, you understand.
Chief - Better facial hair.
Flumphs - Love for the old school, though the quote made it a close call.
and... can I put half for each? No? Yes?
This one's too close for me.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Kazumi - Ya gotta love her.
Chief - Very close win.
Shadowdancer - I always liked him a lot.
Tarquin - Battle of the Dads huh? That's pretty awesome.A handful of true friends, an infinite supply of sodas, a collection of bad movies, and a full supply of webcomics are all one really needs to be happy.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
78% of all DM's start their first campaign in a tavern. If you're among the 22% who didn't, copy and paste this into your signature and tell us where you DID begin. The players were attacked individually on the road on the way to town by werewolves. To survive, they had to team up then and there without knowing anything about eachother (literally -- all character sheets were completed without other players' knowledge).

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Doesn't a 96 person tournament need the top 32 seeds to get a 1st round bye?
Otherwise:
R1 96
R2 48
R3 24
R4 12
R5 6
R6 3
With the top 32 getting byes:
R1 Bottom 64 of the 96 play; top 32 seeds get byes
R2 Winners of R1 plus top 32 seeds = 64
R3 32
R4 16
R5 8
R6 4
R7 2
If you want seven rounds with no byes, you need a 128 person tournament.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
In sporting contests that require 1v1, yes. But it is possible for a popularity contest to utilise 1v1v1, or 1v1v1v1, or even 1v1v1v1v1.
So yes, you've discovered the dark secret of this tournament; that the grand final will be 1v1v1. I'm sorry to have deceived you all.

Spoiler7: Nale - 11 - 35.48%
VS
Kazumi Kato - 20 - 64.52%
Nale folds like a toilet paper golem again. Tarquin will be so disappointed.
Chief - 24 - 77.42%
VS
Hilgya Firehelm - 7 - 22.58%
Honestly, I thought the first great love of Durkon's life would do a little better. I guess she is pretty old-school.
Shadowdancer - 12 - 38.71%
VS
Flumphs - 19 - 61.29%
Hey, the flumphs succeeded at something. Good for them.
Eugene Greenhilt - 4 - 13.33%
VS
18: Tarquin - 26 - 86.67%
Poor ol' Eugene never stood a chance here.
In light of the recent broken glass/tree conspiracy to take out Rich, the update schedule on this thread has changed to 'at some point after a sufficient number of votes has been reached, and no votes have been submitted in the past few days.' If voter turnout burns out completely (a possibility now that people won't be flocking to the forums as a comic is uploaded), then I'll just put this on hiatus until Rich recovers.

I think my posts look nicer with a small bit of extra room at the top.

"...But now we must defend ourselves against two highly-skilled legal professionals--"

Samantha VS Lien

Actually not Samantha, but Lien. I've just always liked that quote.

Their: a possessive pronoun like “her” or “our”
There: refers to a place ("the Kobold is over THERE"), or to indicate the existence of something, or to mention something for the first time. ("THERE is a Halfling sneaking up on him")
They're: a contraction of “they are.”
Also: Your/You're, Its/It's, Then/Than.
And... I believe in you.

Re: Favourite Character Tournament
Huh.
Evisceratus, for the sheer will to punish Evil when being lv 1 Commoner.
Kilkil. Qualified Fugitive Assistance Program.
Inkyrius. One banana nut muffin, please.
Lien. Samantha would be better off if the contest was named Most Dumb and Unsympathetic Character.
