Well, it isn't the answer, but if you start seeing yourself more and start getting used to who you are......or can get an idea of who you want to be, that will help loads.

The problem is, I'm very familiar with how my body is, as well as how I want it to be. But it will never be how I want it; the best I can do, with several years and thousands of dollars, is get close. And I'm really tired of that . However, all is not invain, and you advice has been heeded, after a fashion: instead of being naked, however, I'm trying out my new limited wardrobe. And it does feel good!

So there's a bunch of kids that live a couple of doors down from me that have seen me walking past as both a guy and a girl, and I think are very confused. I still remember fondly the first time I walked past them as a guy after being female for a few weeks, and a loud "Oh. My. God!" was heard as they realised that I was the girl that they'd seen around recently.

Anyway, I was fairly sure that they'd pegged me as a guy who sometimes dressed as a girl, but I saw them again today. I'd made an effort for androgyny today, and I think if I saw myself in the street (you know what I mean) my first instinct would be female, but I wouldn't want to make the call. I saw them, and one of the girls asked curiously, "Are you a lady?"

My response? I smiled, and said "Maybe."

I agree with Celtic! This was amazing and made my day! I'm very jealous of your ability to do that! Of course, if I were to have that ability, I'd stick myself to just looking female, but either way...

At this point I just peg you as pretty.

I must have lucked out and managed to avoid the people who were all gung-ho about gaybashing when I went through. I guess things have heated up again since the last brouhaha in the last 90s.

Dresses and makeup are the female version of chest bumping. Yes, it has the added benefit of showing your qualities to potential mates, but primarily it's all about establishing dominance in the peer group.

There's apparently a network for LGBTA scouts in Sweden, and they reacted strongly against the BSA's decision to ban gay scout leader.

I think everyone reacted strongly against that.

Personally I left the Boy Scouts after only a couple of months, when we found out just how extremely intolerant they are.

Well, that is a start at least Baby steps are not a bad thing, esp when it comes to being comfortable in your own skin. I am still not fully comfortable in the skin I was given, and I am not even dealing with complex emotions associated with said skin.......I'm a pretty simple dude when it comes to my emotions. All I would say is, keep at it and hopefully one day that glorious time will come when you look into the mirror and you smile........and just an fyi, I am not even there yet either, so don't feel down about not liking the way you look. Speaking of this, my ass needs to get started back to the gym.

Dang, you've been to a lot of places. I've been to New England, Miami (Florida), northern California, LA and San Diego, somewhere in Mexico near the border with California, and Japan. Also a Canadian border town for a couple of hours. And that's more places than some people I know have been. Does your family go on a lot of vacations, then?
As for languages, I learn quickly, so if I tried I could pick up the super-basic stuff in time to visit a place. I'm just kind of anxious about traveling much alone.

Oh, if we're counting states of the US, I've also been to Virginia, DC, Massachusetts, New York (city when I was little, upstate mountains this year), Vermont, and Indiana. Plus brief times in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. And I knew I forgot somewhere: French-speaking Canada!

I want to learn Irish, and French, and can't decide which order to do it in so I've wasted the last five years. And unfortunately, I only have a knack for Scott's gaelic. XP

French is approximately a billionty times more useful, if that helps.

If I were you I'd keep in touch with him, if you can. Let yourself be sad, but try to give yourself nice distractions. As Astrella and others have said, it's not men, either all or a subset, who "make" sexism. It's made by our whole culture, and has deep roots far back in time. Simply, and glossing over the nuances, women are pressured by other women to groom themselves way more than men are expected to because our culture places so much value on women's appearances and less value on their other facets and contributions. Your mom is going to tell you to wear make up if she knows you're more likely to get the promotion than if you don't wear it. Is she the cause of sexism? No. Is she perpetuating it? Yes, but you could hardly blame her, she wants what's best for you.

Gay people don't need to play gay characters, just like heterofolk don't need to play heterofolk. Although being an all-queer pack would be interesting. It would have to deal with prejudice from other Uratha though, else why would they have to band together?

It sort of did in my school. Sort of. Some of the sports players were pretty nice, others were really conceited. There were some people who fit the nerd stereotype to a tee hanging out with all of them, but ones they didn't like tended to get harassed sometimes.

But that's not a jock/nerd dichotomy. That's people. You can try and fit that square peg into a round hole, but it's circumstantial. The fact that needs and jocks get along disproves the existence of the stereotype.

You also see it happening in a different form nowadays. The gangsta kids are the new jocks, because now adults in the industry are aroun ho grew up with gangsta kids and not jocks.

That being said, it's a beautiful language and I'd like to pick it up. It sits lavender in my mind, and has its place. Different than te deep bluegreen and orange sparks of Irish.

Myself, I'd enjoy the ramifications of all the social outcasts forming a pack, but it would naturally play up triggers that people want to avoid in RP-as-escapism. And I wouldn't mind playing in what amounts to an Anita Blake wolf pack, but I don't think Rawhide or any of the other mods woul appreciate such a sexually charged game, and it relies too heavily on sexual dominance anyhow.

Myself, I'd enjoy the ramifications of all the social outcasts forming a pack, but it would naturally play up triggers that people want to avoid in RP-as-escapism. And I wouldn't mind playing in what amounts to an Anita Blake wolf pack, but I don't think Rawhide or any of the other mods woul appreciate such a sexually charged game, and it relies too heavily on sexual dominance anyhow.

True... It's conceivable to have everyone meet for unrelated reasons or something, but it would be alienating to restrict it.
