This deal is, to us, but provisionally fair; although you might have bartered for polar bear rides, since your territories are possessed of their own meese. However, we should like to know if -- given that we have entered a treaty -- our prior habits of sitting on your shoulder and nibbling your ear would reduce our dignity in your eyes and thus encourage liberties upon the treaty's terms. This, too, has become a consistent difficulty for our people in such matters.
Sadly, my territories would be mooseless. Moose have never been wont to wander towards the more southerly regions of my homeland, and what few we had in our northernmost regions were driven even closer to the Arctic by the unreasonably tepid winter of last year.

As to sitting on shoulders and partaking of ear nibbles, rest assured that these do naught but inspire further reverence. Your people could rest upon the shoulder of a king and honor him with your presence, being not afraid to bite that royal lobe which your lessers would be slain for looking upon with harsh eyes. In honesty, should I breach a treaty with so noble a race, then may all of those serendipitously discovered threats be carried out upon my person, and my body be left for carrion.

You can get quite far just by learning how to simplify a problem. In everyday mathematics, you can usually let yourself be off by a few digits without anyone caring all too much (this doesn't extend itself to the tax return, but you get the idea). Given, I strive toward exactness even when head counting, but that's more out of pride than neccessity.

Hrm... I think I am the only person to have gone outside and grilled some hamburgers in November. Those of you in less temperate climates may not be impressed by the 40 degree (that's Fahrenheit; I suppose it's around 10 Celcius) weather, but I actually put on a long sleeved shirt for it, so I suppose that means I think it's cold (despite it being, what, early spring weather for you Canadians?).

I have also reminded myself that grilling in the dark equals overly-well done burgers.

Well, that's about as cold as we've been getting it up here, but it probably wouldn't turn too many heads if someone was out grilling - I know a few folks who don't start wearing socks until there's at least an inch of snow on the ground! But hey, good for you for defying the (relative) cold!

It went between -1 and 1 today. Snowed for a short time. Nothing on ground, but it was pretty to walk through.

That's like, 22-25 I think in American degrees.

If it's hovering around zero, then it'll be more like low 30s Fahrenheit.

Wish I had some snow here. I suppose I'll get it eventually (unless this year is like last year, where we got an inch of snow in october and then nothing for the rest of the year).

Snow has sprinkled fleece-like again here; and again, it will melt in the next few days. The dance of November begins, and by another week or two, the permanent bastion of winter's whiteness will have laid its foundation and we shall not see grass again until March or April.

After over a week of waiting, my Grandma's orchid has finally opened finished flowering. Such a gentle flower to take so long to open, but it does not mesh well with my desire to share it with others.
    It was worth waiting.
I have also stumbled upon old photos of other parts of our garden and our cats that I shall upload elsewhere.

I haven't seen any snow in at least a weeks time now. We have our typical November weather as well, you know, a time spoken of as the era of despair. After the first frost has deprived the trees of their spaceous paddings, a wave of relative heat brings away the crystalline blanket and leaves us with but biting wind and endless rain in a land of void and skeletons. The uniformity of the gray sky, not all too unlike the blanket of a much reviled institution, serves as an example of the true meaning of infinity, and it's only further enhanced by the conquests of Night's cold embrace.

Freezing rain and chilling gusts seeps the cold into your bones with an efficiency a blizzard would envy, and you gaze longingly toward the wardrobe with our human substitues to fur and blubber, but alas, any attempts at shielding yourself are punished thoroughly through stagnant ventilation and thermal reflection. If only it was a few degrees colder, you hear yourself say, but your wishes go unheard agains the endless walls of nothingness, aptly painted in the single hue of gray. (End spoken with a tongue of bitter poison.)

Algorithms are easy, just do as they say and you're done. Formulating an algorithm to solve a problem is trickier, but since you always should start simple, still manageable. Combinatorics is just the lowest tiers of mathematics reapplied in excess.

Hmm... The name Popcorn Orchid would better apply to one that is a lighter shade of yellow, this more effectively evoking remembrances of buttered popcorn.
However, for all I know, that is its name. I shall check on Google.

Edit: They're of the Oncidium genus. Possibly Oncidium Altissisum or Oncidium Sphacelatum.

So, either Wylder's Dancing Lady Orchid or the Popcorn Orchid.

And since there's a test tomorrow, MoonCat decided to read Lord of the Flies cover-to-cover just to try and cover her back.

Started at 10:35. Ended at 11:58.

I have no idea why, in the whole month and two days we spent reading it, we only had about six actual class discussions, if there were twelve chapters to read, and we were all reading a chapter a night. What did we spend the rest of the time on?!?!

But hey, in good news, History teacher says I got 25/25 on that essay of mine she lost.

Speak of the devil, it's snowing. Not a lot, mind you, and "snow" is quite a missleading term, the white goodness is probably better spoken of as small, frozen nails (the stress is on "small", "nail" is just the translation of a Swedish expression), but it makes the ground white in a few choice spots, and it's snow nevertheless.

I'd say I channeled the spirit of an ancestor, but I'm not sure I even have any English blood in my veins. That said, I've been studying English since second grade, so I suppose my skill should be at least somewhat justified. That, and I feed on words like others feed on good food, nurturing my eloquence like others nurture their subcutaneous shieldings. Might explain why I get so cold at times...

Lucky you. I blame the Gulf Stream, you know, in general. That said, I love our climate in general as well, so I shouldn't be so hard on the former just because of a few weeks' downtime...

Lucky? More like lacky! I wish I had snow over my ankles. Many of my peers may not, but I do. I wish I had pavements to shovel, buried schoolways to trudge through, bitter cold burning my cheeks and having to pad myself to a level that makes soldiers envious. Screw the trains, when it's white, that's when I'm alive.

I've discovered it won't snow as much here as I'd feared

ion, I scored 63% on my midterms (average) which is... enough. On a more important educational note, complaints have been made about the terribad physics lecturer, no formal complaint yet, but things are happening

In that case, I agree. Let it be known that the lands north of my current territory will be strictly under the control of the Budgie-Lord, and my kingdom shall not encroach upon his.

I don't know what a Ringu is, but that video was terrifying. But fear not; I was not destroyed. Much.

Ringu is the original Japanese version of "The Ring" and about 100 times as creepy, especially *that* scene. It makes my skin crawl, which is no mean feat on a demon.

Is that the thing that's supposed to kill you in seven days, or am I confusing it with something else?

Anyway, I have to go to the dentist tomorrow to have this wisdom tooth of mine looked at.
    Joy.

I am both looking forward to this and not looking forward to this.
    Goodnight everyone!

Having never seen "The Ring," I have no idea what *that* scene is. (And I'd like to keep it that way, thanks. My nightmares are nasty enough as is.)

Hey, it's gotta be better than constant tooth pain, right? Personally, I was GLAD to have my wisdom teeth taken out - my mom made pudding, which she doesn't usually do, and her pudding is delicious. Like, totally-worth-the-pain delicious.

My mutant power is that I have no wisdom teeth. I was born without them. Can I get some pudding anyway.

Sure! The only real problem, aside from getting my mom to make it (she's a little paranoid that the half-century old cast iron pressure-cooker might explode) would be getting it to the post office and mailing it to Sweden without eating all of it.

My mutant power is to force-feed people pudding if they don't like it because it's pudding. Especially chocolate!
