Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Because I only had two eclairs in the first place, and the other half was consumed by all the folks begging me for a bite.
Also, are you sure you know what eclairs are? Because a full-sized eclair is usually eaten on its own, possibly wth a second. There is no way you would eat 19 of them.
What's the problem? Even if you don't find them kind of yucky, as I did, you still don't care about them that much, I'm sure. You never even mentioned them until Hostess closed, you're only sad because of nostalgia.Spoiler: This signature is a historical relic from a long-ago time of regular forum activity.Aww man! No, probably these.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Yes, I had a chocolate eclair.
So why the heck were you mourning?
The moon isn't space!
I wasn't mocking him.
I'm talking about large pastries covered in chocolate, with cream on the inside.
Nope. And I'm a dude, not a guy.
Yes, that's it, although the local ones have chocolate on them instead of whatever it is in that picture.
Yep.
I think the proportions are different, and no, there's a pastry shell filled with cream, and the shell is covered with chocolate. But yeah, it's basically a large version of what LaLa described.Last edited by MoonCat; 2012-11-20 at 08:28 PM.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
I asked him why he was mourning Twinkies when I was under the impression that he was. The only thing other than that was me saying that I didn't like them, and that it seemed like he only mourned them because of nostalgia. Neither of these fit under the definition of mocking anything. If there's any fault you feel you must find in that, it would be insensitivity, but at no point do I "tease or laugh" at his statement/emotions "in a scornful or contemptuous manner."

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
That sounds only slightly worse than my own cooking skills. I can make pasta, hamburgers, eggs, sandwiches, and things that only require warming up, and that's about it.
Don't worry; you can live on just those.
Ah, good. You should send us all some cake.
(Personally, I don't like being at home (there are way too many people in my house, especially near holidays), but I'm probably the minority here)
Well, that sucks. Hope you can get another quickly (tire, that is).
We should use it for every speech, just in case they die while we're talking.Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2012-11-20 at 09:41 PM.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Nothing honey mustard and salt can't fix.
I sympathise and have been there; I just kept going until I got to a lit place and out of the ramp ignoring the probable damage in lieu of the possible more horrible dangers.
I hope everything turned out/turns out fine.
I also have only heard it in relation to the speeches made for departed ones.
You can actually live on pasta alone, I do for months. SO MUCH VARIETY!
You can have ravioli, spaghetti, lasagne, cannelloni, risotto, tagliatelle and many many more, you can have them in many types of made up, from egg based to purely wheat based; and if you start considering sauces the possibilities are bigger than possible with a normal breakfast-lunch-dinner schedule for 100 years meaning you could eat a different pasta each day without repeating until you die.
It's not: don't worry you can live on those; it's more like "don't bother, everything else is not as good."Last edited by AsteriskAmp; 2012-11-20 at 09:49 PM.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
I still might send you our recipe for pumpkin dessert; IT IS THE BEST THING. And my mom didn't come up with THAT adaptation for about a decade after my sister was first diagnosed (she was diagnosed a year before I was born). But it's actually been pretty awesome seeing awareness of celiac grow just in my lifetime. When I was little, we'd tell people my sisters and dad couldn't have bread, and they'd just be like "oh, that thing I've never heard of sounds terrible!" Now they're like "Oh, did you hear Betty Crocker is doing gluten-free stuff now?" (hint: we HAVE already.) But hooray for my family being able to eat in restaurants!
You know I would if I could afford the postage.
I like being home because my siblings are my best friends, and I actually LIKE my parents (shocking, I know) and the piano here is SO MUCH better than the one at school.Quotes!

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Heh, good point. Steak and pizza are too good to eat only pasta though. I'm not really a chef either; my stepmom could easily do all of that (she differs rather much from me in that nature), but I would rather just make linguine in a vodka sauce over and over again.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
You are not alone!
Except on the piano part, I return to my high school just to get to play the piano while everyone else is in classes.
And the siblings part, they are not so much friends as a category on their own, but we get along fine.
What piano do you have?
Why not have them all simultaneously?
Steak is fantastic with many types of pasta, mainly bolognesa and pomodoro but also works fantastically with pretty much anything. Pizza... not easy to mix with pasta... but possible.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Well, our piano is an electric one and not even all that fancy, but the one at school is out of tune, it has a lousy tone, the second E above middle C doesn't work, and the pedal only occasionally functions.
I'm still jealous of my friend Alex, though. He has a Bösendorfer and he doesn't even like playing piano.Quotes!

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Prosciutto is uncooked ham; ham is prosciutto cotto or cooked prosciutto.
The difference in taste is very noticeable considering ham is normally more "meat-ish" tasting than prosciutto.
Considered tuning it yourself? Even if you can't pull it perfectly it will send them into alarm mode and get them to get it tuned.
An unloved Bösendorfer...
That is absolutely not fair in terms of cosmic retribution... those things are... glorious, magnificent and bloody damn expensive as well as full sounding.
