Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Did, and not quite. It was... 3? 4? ...years since I was in it, and I've developed quite a bit ever since. Back then, I was okay at it. Not terrible, but certainly not in the top either.
No, I have other business regarding it now. But with all likelyhood, my business will have to move out to its own premises. And I'll have to figure out a way to get my hands on the right tools. Will have to ask when I go and check out my stuff...Last edited by Teddy; 2012-11-23 at 11:50 AM.

Been 19 years old for nearly 3 hours and I don't feel the slightest bit special. Not even really expecting any presents.

Sounds like a good time to go to sleep, then. No birthdays become any better from lack of sleep.

Although I do suppose they could become more productive... Stupid electronics...
I would congratulate you, but it's not your birthday in my time zone yet, so it'll have to wait another few hours for it.Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Happy birthday! I give you a present of song. Be forewarned; it is relaxing, but very long.
Eh, I know the feeling. The best presents are food and drink, though. You can enjoy them immediately, and they don't clutter up your room later!
Heh, it's another twelve hours here.
Either, really.
Cool! Why did the prof leave?
I'll have to take a look at it.
"Yes Amidus, you really need another hobby."
"Shut up, other voice."
Well, I know it wasn't me...
Sounds like a happy birthday indeed.Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2012-11-23 at 12:14 PM.

Does that song actually change in the hour it plays for? So far it's nice and relaxing.. Might help with my headache.
I think my Dad might be getting me something.. And my scummy ex got me something and is giving it to me tomorrow when he comes to pick up his crap.
He's throwing out pictures and compliments like.. like candy..

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
I know the feeling from my 20th birthday, except it was the night after, not the one leading up to it. Given, it was a rather productive night, it was just that I was completely gone in the head afterwards.
Not really a professor, since we're talking high school level education when we go so far back along my line. And I have no idea, since I haven't had the opportunity to ask anyone yet. Either she's on a leave of absence or she's moved on to a new job...Last edited by Teddy; 2012-11-23 at 12:32 PM.

SpoilerTHE BATTLE HYMN OF MORDOR
Words by Mattias Wohlen.
Tune 'When Johnny comes Marching Home' (trad.).
Goblins, orcs and trolls we are, hoorah, hoorah
No end of us the World can see, hoorah, hoorah
We slay, we kill, that's our goodwill
No matter how cruel, it's all a thrill
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
From Mordor we are coming back, hoorah, hoorah
To burn, destroy, to slay, and sack, hoorah, hoorah
We butcher and cut, we rip your guts
We rape your daughters and burn your huts
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
The land of Rohan we will raze, hoorah, hoorah
Their stable homes we'll set ablaze, hoorah, hoorah
We slay of course both man and horse
We've yet to learn the word remorse
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
The dwarves will dance and do a skip, hoorah, hoorah
Before the Balrog's slashing whip, hoorah, hoorah
A merry day, the balrog will flay
Every beard and limb away
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
Lórien fairest forest is, hoorah, hoorah
We burn it all, it is amiss, hoorah, hoorah
We slay the elves, amuse ourselves,
They'll find no maid among themselves
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
Come here my hobbit, do not flee, hoorah, hoorah
Come back, come back, come play with me, hoorah, hoorah
The hobbits char in fresh hot tar,
The cooking smell will spread afar
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
The wizards try to us repel, hoorah, hoorah
We kill, we send them down to hell, hoorah, hoorah
We win the west, we are the best
We kill you all with jolly zest
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.
The king of Gondor soon will die, hoorah, hoorah
When his homes in cinders lie, hoorah, hoorah
The West is gone, the World is won,
The whole of bloody creation undone
We kill, kill, kill, kill, we are the Dark Lord's host.Avatar by CoffeeIncluded

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
That is hilarious.
Well, my high school chemistry teacher was a technically a professor (she also taught chemistry at a college). She didn't like to be called that, though (something that never stopped a few of us ). I just sort of assume college unless someone says high school anymore.
Ah, okay.Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2012-11-23 at 12:41 PM.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Guess what guys? That guy I mentioned? I have a date with him tonight. (as in Saturday night) I'm just kinda in shock. He's hot and cute, has abs, a cute smile and eyes, is really nice and sweet, is taking me out to dinner (splitting the bill I think) and is buying me a bottle of alcohol for my birthday. Then I'm taking him home.. Heh.
THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! If it wasn't for Socratov who encouraged booty calls/one night stands, I probably wouldn't have had the courage! *raises glass of Jack Daniels and coke to Socratov*

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
All of my high school teachers except the ones in administrative positions were also professors (not that the distinction mattered because in spanish the word for both is one). About half of my classmates are fated to eventually be reinstructed by them, which I find sweetly ironic for a number of them.

Re: Coid's Crowing Conundrum of a Canticle of Crookedly Random Banter #185
Hehehe... There is no escape. Interesting how some languages have different words for teachers at different levels of education, and some don't. From what I remember, French also uses just one word for both.
Congratulations!
I'll just have some lemonade, if you don't mind...Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2012-11-23 at 05:54 PM.
