Not exactly. Yes, he's been a magic generator for six months, but that's because he's stayed at home. Ellen, with her travelling, balanced out on generation a long time ago. So it's really just a question of how quickly that rebalance takes effect.

Also, it would probably be an appropriately awkward and embarrassing way for Elliot and Diane to be formally introduced and would bring her into the Circle sooner rather than later.

It could always be a red herring. Even if it's not, Shive is not the sort to make things simple. "Sister" can mean anything from direct blood relative to alternate reality duplicate. And that's the narrow spectrum.

Why do you think there is innuendo? Ellen's legs are hurting from having something heavy on them and stuck in the same position for an extended period of time. Now, there is innuendo in playing dress-up with your girlfriend, but Ellen declined, because she needs to stretch her legs.

Nanase is suggesting that they play dress-up with the doll with her still in the doll, which would mean Nanase's real body would remain where it is, which is somewhat forcing Ellen to stay in the same spot because Nanase is on top of her.

Considering that this is fiction, I can totally see such uncanny timing.

But yes, I'm going with the agreed-on sketch hypothesis, mostly because otherwise it would have to be a retcon and out-of-character for Sarah. We'll have to wait and see.

I gotta say, I will be extremely shocked if it isn't a sketch, because I never even considered the possibility of anything else. Even coming to this thread, all the other ideas seem very farfetched. I don't even remember EGS having any dreams that weren't immediately obvious as a dream sequence.
