Re: Random Banter #196
Not bad. Some are better than others. Best eaten at 10:30am or later.
Mmm....
So you say. I think you'll find that somewhat difficult.
PARRY! RIPOSTE! *taps on shoulder*
Not sure what you're laughing at.
I'm always silly.
Just an assumption; my dad and his dad both have thin hair, and my mom's dad started losing hair in his mid-20's.
Sure, sure. I promise I won't eat too many of them.
...How? But... scrambled eggs are pathetically easy to make! Even I can make them! (normally from a failed attempt at making an omelette)
Heheheheheh
I got up at 1pm, I think I'm entirely excused from lunch.
Technically I have either 1 or 4, depending on which ones you count.
I haven't had the time to play it, sadly.
Indubitably.
...17.
*nods sagely, then thymely*
But... but then you'll die!
I suppose not.
So people tell me.
Aye, and see (far) above. I'm just hoping I take after my father's side instead of my mother's side.
Heheheh
Indeed.
I'm always spot on. Except when I'm horribly inaccurate, or don't remember what I'm arguing.
Hey, none of that now.Avatar by FinnLassie

Re: Random Banter #196
QI was the one that informed me about the antiquity of trepanning. Also that it was performed in Papua New Guinea in the C19th and their general surgery over there had a higher success rate that several of the more famous London teaching hospitals (and elsewhere) at the time because their tool were chipped from river-washed stone or something, and this (amongst other thigns) meant their 'operating theatres' and aftercare was more hygienic than the modern world's equivalents.
QI: got to love it.
And what class lad you to write on (Ancient?) Egyptian medicine? An AP one presumably.

Re: Random Banter #196
QI is truly excellent.
It was an Honors Ancient World History class. Basically, we had a selection of historical fiction novels, which we had to read/do a project about, and then we had to come up with two research questions related to the book and pick one to write a paper on.
Naturally, I waited until nine o'clock the night before the book/project/questions were due to start reading to book. Awesomely, I didn't even pull an all-night to do it, and I got over a hundred percent.
The paper I also started the night before, but I do not count it as I technically did research on two days beforehand.Spoiler: This signature is a historical relic from a long-ago time of regular forum activity.Aww man! Even all the witty self referencing sigs are gone now!

I don't think I have failed to notice this, Amisilly.
Well, I'll break the news then: baldness gene is inherited from your mother.
Better not, or I can't cook you anything nice with it!

Deserved, right...
Not a nickname, a reference. Though I suppose I should be more glad you missed the reference...
How cruel, even as I make myself my own damn sammich, too.
Hmm, no grappling, no striking, but they're dodging... Nuke the site from orbit?
That is what makes us so endearing, after all.
Eww? I'm just examining his headcase. *pops Amidoodle's head back on*
If you think that's all that there is to cooking, you're sorely missing out on the value and importance of what oils one chooses to use.

Re: Random Banter #196
*winces* Uff, my gut.
I'd have to start calling you blind if you hadn't.
Yes, this I am aware of. It's what makes me believe that I'll lose my hair someday.
Mmm.... okaaaaay.
Now they'll even look like proper hippie jeans. That, and I can always wash some of my other pairs with bleach or something and get the same effect.
Always a good option.

Re: Random Banter #196
I suppose so, aye.
Mmm, that does sound depressingly like Rural 'Murica, yeah. Aside from grandparents being the primary guardians of children, anyway...
Hmm, point.
eh, wot-wot, indeed.
I think it's part of why we all love you.
He's right, you know.
Well, good luck regardless.
That's our Amidus!
Do you know the trick where you lift up the lip of the omelette and let more egg-liquid down onto the pan?
Nah, not until 3 PM. Once you hit about 3:30-4:00ish, you get Low Tea, then I think 4:30-5:00 is Mid Tea, and then 5:30-6:00 is High Tea.
Based upon taste?
A shame, that.
Quite so, just so.
HAH!
*goes to listen to some simon and garfunkel.
Honestly I'd probably welcome it. I hear it's a grand adventure.
I mean, not that I'd know...
*grunt* Good luck, yeah.
But are you cool spot?
But your decoy has to work properly for the homecoming game!
And yet only one of my brothers seems to be balding...
Mmm, cookin'. Good stuff.

Re: Random Banter #196
I always am.
Here's hoping I don't need it. *raises glass*
Heheheh
I had not, although that makes sense.
Well, I normally eat between 11 and 1, so it's a bit out of my normal lunch.
The other three are step-sisters. Now, if we're going on which ones I actually like, there's 2 either way...
Indeed. I'm uncharacteristically busy lately.
It was glorious. I probably could have fooled her for longer, too, if no one else had said anything...
Off to the fair, are we?
So they say. I much prefer living, though.
Mwahahahahaha
Aye, indeed.
NO ONE PLAYED THAT GAME, COID!
Just set the music, D&D, and dark humor switches to ON, and you'll be fine.

Re: Random Banter #196
Well, I'm not much for inviting myself to a party. I aways fear I won't be welcome unless I receive a proper invitation...
I really like Schwarzwald, but it's probably not chocolatey enough for your tastes...
This is the reason to why they stopped releasing doves at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, if my sources are correct. For some reason, people weren't happy when the symbols of peace and understanding decided to commit mass suicide by flying straight into the Olympic fire...
Also, this hardly comes close to the sheer stupidity of the common pheasant, who needs to watch one of it's own peers fly straight into the side of a barn just to learn that it probably should dodge away at the last second if the barn doesn't move out of the way when you fly straight at it. Seriously.Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Re: Random Banter #196
Indeed. *toasts*
Learned that my first day on the job. I'd thought my dad's omelettes were always a bit thick. Turns out he was doing fritatas instead.
Mmm, my lunch goes till about 2, I must admit, usually. I'll go as late as 3 though, but that's usually when I eat breakfast at 10 or 11.
Hehe. Oh, step-sisters. Usually sources of endless awkward jokes and ribbing.
Well, always good practice for university life, I suppose?
XD
Something like that
Living is also a grand adventure.
*evil hug with bear arms*
I DON'T KNOW WHAT GAME YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, NO SUCH GAME AS COOL SPOT EXISTS FOR THE SNES OR SEGA GENESIS, AMIDUS!
That accounts for everyone but the cheerleaders, sure, but what are we going to do with them?
SPEAK NOT OF SUCH BLASPHEMIES TO ME! Vegetable! Pah! Soy! Pah! Those belong in those BS regions they make up for the movies.
That's the idea. It's not the pokemon badges that matter. It's the pokemon journey.

Re: Random Banter #196
Well, today my family just tried some calzones I picked up at the supermarket, and everyone loves it now.
And what was amusing was that my mother told me that calzone means "underwear". At first I thought it was in Italian, but after a bit of research I realized that calzone means "underwear" in Spanish.
Believe me, these calzones taste better than any underwear I've ever tasted!

Re: Random Banter #196
It's not lunch if I eat it after 2; it's a sandwich in the afternoon.
I like my stepsisters... well, except for the one I've only met once. I can't say I know her well enough to like or dislike her. The two that I've met recently (including the one I occasionally live in the same house as) are cool, though.
That's more like eating lots of pizza and doing schoolwork... I suppose you could call that "busy". Busier than I have been, anyway.
I still get a good chuckle out of it, and that was a while back.
Sometimes, for sure. Sometimes it's just a pain in the ass.
I'm sure that's the attitude Sega took towards the game after they published it, too.
Oh, turn on the innuendo and sarcasm/sardonics switch too. The ones that don't get the first jokes we can make fun of with the next ones.
I did say I didn't blame you for leaving it off.
True, perhaps, but I'll still argue that there are frequently better uses of my time than hovering on this thread.

Re: Random Banter #196
But what if it's not a sandwich?
Hard to like or dislike someone who is unknown to you. At least you don't find her hot, I suppose. Cool is good though. Blood sister a bit of a hellion then, I take it?
Sounds like the life of a college kid, yeah.
This is good.
Sometimes.
Who can say when it comes to Sega and attitude? Or teenagers for that matter.
Hmm. So you're saying we should try to leave some alive this time? I'm not sure if you're being merciful or cruel.
Fair enough.
Like making music or honing your skills.
Well, you're not that far from Myrtle? Then again I haven't the foggiest where you'll be in October.
Either you've not tasted enough underwear or you've been tasting the wrong kind of underwear or these are some pretty good calzones for store-bought.

Re: Random Banter #196
Blasphemy!
Truth. Also truth. More truth. Eh... not exactly, no. Just a general pain in the ass. She's okay to deal with when she doesn't want anything, or when she's mad at someone else and wants to complain (and sometimes she's good for a game or two of something), but otherwise she's not worth being around. I normally avoid her. I can't honestly say she has no redeeming qualities, but she makes it damn hard for me to give a **** about her, you know?
Forsooth. Let the gods of pizza rain blessings down upon me.
Everything is good.
Technically, at least 2/3 of things are non-good.
The cat's expression is priceless. It's very well arranged, and good music, to boot.
I wish that had still been a thing when I watched tv.
Merciful!
Cruel!
Who says it can't be both?
Ah, skills. I think I still have some of those...
I'm 7 hours away from it now. I'll be roughly 5 and a half hours away in October, but I'll be at school... that'll be close to midterms... (although it might be after, depending on when the two things are). I could, but it's not likely.Last edited by Amidus Drexel; 2013-07-19 at 09:34 PM.

Re: Random Banter #196
I like to buy calzones at the store. The pizza store.
There's a firetruck idling outside the house. It's blocking the street and there are no firefighters nearby. I know they like to use this road as a shortcut to the supermarket for dinner while on duty, but this is new.I have found a RL gaming group but I'm willing to meet other GitP people nearby.

Time to master the art of washing your clothes in the sink and/or tub, then.
Mmm, commitment, eh? I like that.
Wuff. Sounds like a real piece of work. I'm sorry.
Aye!
Oh, you.
I somehow managed to consistently missed it.

Re: Random Banter #196
I eat sandwiches and sandwich components for lunch, unless something better presents itself. (pizza, for example). Granted, when left to my own devices for food, I all but starve. I just can't be bothered to go get anything unless I'm incredibly hungry.
Well... I probably should feel bad, but I'm just overwhelmed by indifference.
Doesn't beat this, though.
Naysayers. Naysayers say it can't be both. DOWN WITH THE NAYSAYERS!

Re: Random Banter #196
An ambulance came right after I posted and went to the house next door. I did not want to look any more. That is the job of only one neighbor at a time. I will ask her about it tomorrow.
The dust they leave on my fingers smells bad but it can't taste worse than catching fireflies and then forgetting to wash my hands before going for candy. And ladybugs leave a bad smell behind too. You know that some people are trying to tell us bugs are tasty and we should eat more of them? Like crickets in honey and locusts on pizza? I think they don't have any taste buds.
At least those chickens should be doing the job of eating all the bugs around you now. And not the garden.Last edited by Taet; 2013-07-19 at 10:49 PM.
