How do I direct link to a post, now?

So, in the top right corner of each post, there's a number. I used to click it, and I would be taken to a new page with only that post on it.
Now, when I click it, it simply refreshes the page and auto-scrolls to the post. This is problematic for creating new links to single posts.

Does that functionality no longer exist? Or am I doing it wrong?

My research shows that single post view was removed due to problems with search engines and indexing.

I'm not clear on what the point of that was anyway. What's the advantage to specifically seeing/showing just one post, removed from its surroundings? I prefer how now I get to the post on its thread page with just one click! :) I'd usually jump to that from single post view anyway.

Causes some stuff, like the Homebrewer's extended signature links, to load faster, I believe. Used mostly when you were linking to only your post in a thread that wasn't entirely yours.

So, I've been delving deep into the code and the view single post feature has been completely gutted from it. However, there is good news. I think I will be able to bring this back, eventually.

Ok, I've hacked something together. View Single Post should work now. The link address had to change, but I've set up a mod_rewrite rule to change existing ones on the fly with a 301 (Moved Permanently) redirect, so all existing links that follow the correct format should still work.

When I introduced the Spoilers Show/Hide All drop down menu, I inadvertently reverted this change. I've now reinstated it.
