So, I have two requests I'd like to make:

    1. A severely disturbed creature, barely recognizable as human, a lurker-in-thickets and haunter-of-woods. Creepy and unsettling in a blighted-forest sort of way. Extra points if he or she has one or more necrotically challenged animals nearby.

    2. A mounted veteran, hard and stoic, weatherbeaten with an air of long travel about him. Ideally he'd have strong features and a dark beard, and I'd like there to be some ambiguity to him--shades of both grim warrior and high nobleman.

Thanks in advance, it's very much appreciated.

Anyway, thanks for your contribution. I haven't seen a couple of those, and hopefully one of them sticks.
in that case i'd try to get a better read on the features they're going for. are we talking gills? fins? webbed fingers? scales? blue/green skin? tentacles? normal people underwater? something like the deep ones or the Sahuagin?

you need to get more specific.

i want you to take a good long look at the monster below this text and tell me what it used to be, and how you know. makes it twice as creepy to know.

edit: whoops! missed the human requirement. most of those should still work though. the monster on the blue background especially.

I really don't have much more information than "legged aquatic humanoid" (although, when I say humanoid, I mean humanlike appearance, not humanlike body structure). Otherwise, I'm just checking around for images.

Looking for a female, with a Mechanical left arm. wielding either a one handed or a hand and a half sword. white and blue battle robes, and scale mail, if possible.

Also a female archer, with a kind of urban assassin feel. Long or short bow, no cross bow. also carries a small spare blade.
    Thank you.

    Signet, the eternal.

78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.

    Where did you start yours?

On an island where many NPCs were slaughtered by ooze monsters while the party tried desperately to escape. Ah, Memories.

Thanks for finding those, some of them are quite interesting...and that one in particular is decidedly creepy.

...but yes, I was hoping for something a little more humanlike, more on the deranged-and-emaciated side of things. The Pathfinder artwork of Xanthir Vang is closer to the feel I'm looking for--although ideally I'd like something with less cloak and more rags, maybe with sticks and dead leaves caught up in the hair.

Hey there! I usually just sit back and lurk in this particular thread (though some of the longtime people have probably seen me before), and I'm pretty bad at finding pictures when I'm not looking for a specific purpose, but as usual I'm willing to pay tax via photoshop.

So if anyone has a picture that's almost perfect except for that one little thing, let me know and I'll at least take a crack at it.

Thanks for these. That last one is extremely disturbing.

What I'm looking for is not quite that…extreme…but more of a living-human version of same. I have a reasonably clear image in my mind, of a wild, emaciated, somewhat deranged figure, either lurking in a thicket or with leaves and twigs matted in the hair and clothing.

If you're looking for male you could trying searching up Cole MacGrath from Imfamous. Aside from that more details would help to narrow it down.

First of all thank you, I guess I was too vague with my request, but yes the character is male and while I guess I could use Cole, the setting we are playing is based on easter asia, so a more traditional martial artist would be better; I don't have many other visual details because I was hoping to get inspired by the image
