Well, Nanny's out of hospital and back home and better off than she's been for a while before she went in. Bampy, on the other hand, is getting worse; seems to be in a good bit of pain and he can't stand under his own power anymore and (and probably the biggest problem) is dispirited and just waiting for it to be all over. It's looking pretty bleak, really. Nanny seems to be handling it well (but then again, she is a of the war generation), at least on the surface.

So mixed, really.

Plus side: As Mum has a new tablet, I have been able to swipe her netbook for RPG stuff for the use of.

Minus side: Netbook has not been booted up for over a year, so rest of evening likely spent a) updating Netbook Win 7 (sigh) and b) transfer approx 21 gig master document files (and 3.6 gig CAD files) from Win XP drive to Win 7 drive and (attempting to) transferting via USB link to Netbook drive (at least in process providing fresh back-up onto both Win 7 drives.)

To be fair, that 21 gig does also contains Mum's photos (which about 16 gig). My own documents folder is "only" about 6 gig, of which nearly all is stuff like my RPG PDFs and such, leaving "only" about 100 megabytes of actual documentation (excluding CAD files and pictures...)

Reminds me of my grandad. We were all round there once, normal day, and then suddenly out of nowhere he just asked my nan and my aunties if they could phone the parish priest to come round. I giggled because it seemed such a weird thing to say, and at the time I wasn't really mature enough to realise what he was really saying to them.

It didn't go quite as quickly as everyone thought after that though, and he was never really completely listless, just ... accepting would be a good word, I think. But I've still never quite forgiven myself for that.

So for my latest Gal Civ 2 game, the galaxy generated is a barren place. How barren? The Iconians surrendering to me took me from 7th strongest civ to 3rd. And they only had their starting system. So yeah. Still things are looking decent. I did get an ascension crystal going and I'm going to see if I can sneak that victory.

I didn't realize GalCiv2 is such a small game. That actually makes me want it, because it means it's not pages upon pages of spreadsheets and micromanagement.

The beauty is if you want three pages of colony management, or just a micro-empire of 9 worlds, you can set it up that way in the game options. The AI is even just as aware as you are about this set up and will play it accordingly.

Teen Titans Go! is just frackin' hilarious! It's the Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth of superheroes!

I'd seen a couple of episodes before, but there's been a marathon on all day and it is priceless!

And on the topic of Cartoons That Other People Notoriously Dislike For Upstaging The Older Versions that I happened see this morning... Ultimate spider-Man really is not bad at all and is certainly the most unique take on Spidey I've seen.

Also, the LEGO Marvel cartoon is just like an episode, only even more hysterical - rather like the LEGO Star Wars ones.

I give 'Go' the benefit that they hint more to the Raven-Beastboy ship than the original did (Watched both Terra episodes). :3
