    Round Nine: Begin!
Years 116-117 of the Aenic Calendar

Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.

    Good luck!

    Investigate!

[115] Investigators from the Five Tribes, known for their ability, alongside an Adrax Awarian native force begin investigating the assassination of Grand Sheep Jack. Evidence indicating a killer is slim. The wounds on the neck are identified by an experienced guard as strangulation by a killer with an iron gauntlet. The killer appears to be a male by the size of the hand and likely humanoid with four fingers and a thumb. No reliable witnesses come forward and no motive can be ascertained for any realm. The Aeldir may have taken offense to Jack’s actions regarding Luska but surely they would not assassinate the head of a coalition they were just starting to trade with? It seems that whoever was behind Jack’s assassination are very good at doing what they do and covering their tracks and seemingly unrelated to any known realm.

[115] With Berrium and Jade collaboration the investigation into the death of High Queen Roethye reveals that the Satsujin were not responsible. The most prominent and talented Satsujin groups in Quintas had disavowed any knowledge of the killing and some disavowed even recognizing what Primus was and all had reliable alibis marked by other deeds of assassins.

Coalition investigators were able to make decent penetration into Aeldir communication and gave their opinion that the Rose Demesne was not responsible. The only indication of agents in Primus from the Aeldir are recent and relate to the hunt for the Ruby Child. Meanwhile intense obstruction and the distrust of war kept the investigators from learning anything from the Three Crowns.

With the Satsujin and Aeldir out of the running the investigators present their opinion it was either the Rabhid Dynasty, the Nevarri League, or the Artistry of Skianz that sent an assassin. They are the only parties with clear motive to want Roethye dead during the Six Crowns Conflict and no sharing of information has been forthcoming from the block.

[115] When she had first heard that the High Queen was looking for her the wetnurse, Prisca, had been certain it was to have her killed for disobeying Lady Conferrus and that the offer of amnesty was a ruse. The Aeldir are believed to have found her early after her flight from Valkyrie and made contact, beginning the process of moving her and the child quietly into the League of Allied Provinces and then off to the Demesne.

Prisca had been on her way to Almyros Bay in Paschalia when the Dandric Knights of Berrium sent to find the woman discovered her despite the care with which the Aeldir had moved her and brought proof of Breydice’s sincerity. She and the babe were escorted back to Primus by the Dandric Knights and given a royal welcome. The woman and the child were brought to the High Queen and left in her care.

[115] Following stories of a blonde traveling maiden across inns from town to town eventually leads Prevaz and Nevarri investigators to the mysterious woman. She reveals herself as Enyrre Blackswan of Avonlea, a former servant of the Queen grown disillusioned with the Prophetess Council. She had been travelling northwest for a few years and when she heard of the battle had felt obligated to come and help. Ascetic Qorobus Daiy reaches out to the young Avonlean and invites her to join him at the opening of the Temple of Peace.

[115] In Conlarbores the investigation into the tales of missing people around the mountainous foothills discovers a macabre site within a mountain cave. The bodies of the missing are found embalmed and entombed within what seems to be an ancient crypt. The crypt is of a moderate size though well crafted, carved into the walls are a variety of strange and unknown runes. Signs of recent habitation prompts the investigating party to wait for the tomb's inhabitant but no one ever turns up. The unaccounted for disappearances seem to have stopped however and what to do about the strange tomb and its contents is left to the King to decide.

    Claim!

The Grand Principality of Anceris, cocksure in its recent acquisitions, hardly attempts to obfuscate its activities above Carraig Dún, bribing and buying officials and nobles of the region into swearing fealty to the Grand Princess. A number of resistant local nobles hoping to parley the recent appearance of Carraig Dún into turning their homeland into a topside embassy for the under-realm with all the prestige and value that would confer are bullied and intimidated by hired swords until they relinquish their fight or vacate the region leaving it to become another feather in the Grand Principality's cap. [Claim 1/1]

Chorn’Ostrav (70), once claimed by Fantastigoria through cultural ties of witchcraft is now claimed again by the Grand Principality of Anceris through the cultural similarities between Fantastigoria and Anceris. The northern half of the island now joins its southern sibling and little brother to the west under Anceris jurisdiction. [Claim 1/1]

To the shock and appall of some a cult of personality develops around the Aeldir leaning claimant and his Mask of the 12th Maestro in Fantastigoria Primacentra (74). Tales are told of his reclaiming it with the aid of the Aeldir and the long history of cultural exchange and signed treaties of friendship lend Fantastigorians to flock to the cause out of a sense of restoring a time when Fantastigorian fortunes were good. With no support the independent minded 14th Maestro is defenseless and no Avonlean sponsored candidate leaves the capital to proclaim the Aeldir pretender as their new 14th Maestro. [Claim 1/1]

Uncontested and desperate for orderly restoration of their lands the people of Fan’Gourmet (75) flock to an Avonlean sponsored matriarchial Duksae in enveloping the region under the Queendom’s protection and jurisdiction. [Claim 1/1]

Uncontested and desperate for orderly restoration of their lands the people of Fan’Grove (77) flock to an Avonlean sponsored matriarchial Duksae in enveloping the region under the Queendom’s protection and jurisdiction. [Claim 1/1]

In Fan’Xabla (73) the competition between the most influential apprentices of the Forge King becomes a diplomatic showdown between the Grand Principality of Anceris and the Rose Courts of the Aeldir. With both sides claiming legitimate rule and capable of pouring healthy amounts of wealth and support behind their chosen contender the competition stretches on with only minor advances of one side over the other that fail to last long. The support of the people is near evenly split and the whole region is near boiling with tension yet, the old Forge King continues to live. The claiming of the region falls deferred as the partially paralyzed Forge King from the reign of the 13th Maestro struggles to maintain unity in the region but the deference to his rule is only a formality and his death shall mark the true testing of the Aeldir and Anceris.

[114] Northern Aarsrosil conquers Region 232 but if the region isn’t stabilized soon it could prove troublesome.

    Terror!

[114] Decasage Serafim Rosenbaum is found hung in the capital of the Tillwell the morning following the announcement of victory in Evergale to the shock of many. A note is found that explains her sorrow for the people and testifies to her death being at her own hands. A number of Geshem in the region are disturbed deeply and poets begin to write lamentations regarding the Tillwell’s lost position as a member of the Rose Demesne from when it was the capital of the Geshemefar, a nation for and by the Geshem. These poems, known as Laments of the Rose after the most famous of these poems, cause the people’s desires shift and the region now requires paper or papyrus that more copies of their poems can be made. (The Tillwell (17) is in unrest until stabilized through Round 10 end or its new resource requirement is met)

[116] People of Liberantia, upset about the loss of a hard metal import begin to mutter about the ability of Jack's successor in guiding the people. (Regions 130 is in unrest)

[116] Left untended for many years now the people of Region 173 under the Nevarri League grow fed up and take up arms seeking freedom to care for their needs from the Nevarri. A coalition of 2,000 armed citizens rise up seeking to cast out the League. (Region 173 is in rebellion)

[116] The bedraggled Fiid find themselves again facing disturbance at home alongside the People's King managing to organize a fighting force of 1,000 able men in Rasp a coalition of merchant sponsored mercenaries have risen up in Fiid and Lerr and each region faces 1,000 armed and able bodied soldiers. (Regions 37, 39, & 40 are in rebellion)

[116] In Region P7 an eager Nifhel chief rallies together a local force plying their desire for imports to satisfy their needs and attempts to seek independence from the Great Clans with a rebel force 3,000 strong. (Region P7 is in rebellion)

[116] The Grey Empire begins to fray under the stress of the recent war and with so many provinces left unattended to the homefront erupts in a rash of rebellions with only the capital and the newly founded colony safe from unrest. Yahagmir, the White Isles, and Region 33 begin exerting independent rule and each island sponsors a naval unit to push out Grey Imperial power (Regions 30, 32, and 33 are in rebellion)

[116] Already volatile from lack of trade goods its proximity to the recent war pushes Region 41 into rebellion before the ink has even dried on the Treaty of the Ninth Peace. Ascetic Marandia Uthri of the Ninth Struggle and her 5,000 fighting men find haven in the region and begin to attract those dissatisfied with the conclusion of the war swelling numbers to 7,000. The region declares its de facto independence, challenging the Nevarri to try and reassert dominance in the region. (Region 41 is in rebellion)

[116] In Primus a splinter faction led by a minority of House Conferrus, challenges the assertion of the High Queen of her right to have killed Lady Conferrus for seeking to destroy an evil omen. That this demon child shall be brought into the royal family is too much to tolerate. Plying the general unrest of the people over trade deficiencies the region sponsors 2,000 women to support a declaration of rebellion against the new High Queen. (Region 57 is in rebellion)

[116] The Kingdom of Shafar, despite facing many recent gains is built on the bones of the defeated and the ambitions of conquerors. A dissatsfied populace and cunning lords are rarely good for a king and the Boqorka finds this out all too quickly as across his kingdom rebel chieftains stake their claim to pieces of the great rider's kingdom. 2,000 riders each in Mabonde Ya Kijani, Shafarstan, and Mabonde Upepo declare their own kingdoms, daring Ganbaatar to take them back (Regions 252, 326, and 327 are in rebellion)

    • <Curiosity> Upon hearing of the Mysterious Island re-appearing so close to Luskan lands, Lady Kellianth orders several different explorers to find it, and find it quickly! There may very well be some missing Spring Court members on the island! (Luck 5; Investigation/Exploration Total: 22)
    • <Curiosity> Hearing of Freia Silvervein, Lady Spring invites her to come make jewelry in Tir Amser. A message is sent to the High Queen Thalia, politely informing her of Kellianth's intent, and wondering if there might be any deals that could be struck to have Avonlea support the Rose Courts bid for the jeweler. Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show

    • The Spring Girl, Cynnfoni, in Anceris, receives a two pink dresses, and a letter recalling her back to the Spring Court, to show to 'Cousin Drustan' and 'Grandpop Balor' that they are 'being silly', and that the Girl is perfectly fine. They letter seems to suggest that as long as that is true, Cynnfoni will return back to her duties in Anceris, should they still want her there.

It is some weeks later that a messenger informs Lady Spring that Cynnfoni is missing. She becomes understandably upset, and starts to prepare for an investigation of her own. Lord Summer sends her an invitation to meet with him to discuss the matter, and what it means for the Aeldir, to which she accepts. Upon hearing from Lady Autumn that a deal has been struck with Anceris for locating Cynnfoni, Kellianth is mollified, even if she remains concerned.
    • Lady Spring dictates a letter to Avonlea:
      To High Queen Thalia,

I have heard whispers of a famed jeweler whom has begun creating an item of some rather unique properties, and am very curious as to what it is that this Freia Silvervein is capable of. As she resides within your lands, is using a unique metal found within your regions, and - from what I've heard - has approached you first as to the creation of her latest work, I don't wish to offend you by whisking her away without notice. In fact, with the good graces that your maid Helia Whitstone has with both Summer and Winter, and the Favored Kingdom status we have recently awarded you, it would be rather unbecoming of me to consider approaching this jeweler without your express knowledge.

I am hopeful that we might work out a deal of some sort, where The Queendom will support the Aeldir in paying for this jeweler to come to Tir Amser for a few years. I understand, from my own inspection of them, that you have quite a few Ships that are continuously built. The Rose Courts have recently developed a method that allows our own ships to travel in deeper waters without fear. I would be interested in opening a dialogue by which we might reveal the secrets of this Clinker ship-building method to you, if you were so inclined.

Quite looking forward to hearing from you,
      Lady Spring, Kellianth Beagan

p.s. I've also heard rumors that you might be having a rather nice party soon. If so, perhaps we could discuss this more at that time?
    • Aleuta, in Primus, is formally chosen as the Lady Spring's Best Friend. After explaining to the royal family of the Imperium that this was very important, Aleuta says her goodbyes, and returns to Glaw Novo to be with Kellianth. A new Spring Court Girl, Rhona, has a long discussion with Aleuta, before being assigned as the new Girl in Primus. She immediately begins a several year tour around Primus regions, saving Primus itself for last.
    • Though neither is the winning bid, Lady Spring does successfully deepen the relationship of the Rose Courts with the Prophetess Council of Avonlea, due to the matter of the Jeweler, Silvervein.
    • Freia Silvervein herself receives a message from Lady Spring:
      Master Jeweler Silvervein,

It has been a real treasure to hear of your offer, and watch the known world leaders jumping at your very whim. I applaud your skill, both at negotiations and jewelry-crafting. Should you choose our bid, I will personally see to it that the recompense to you is even more worth your while, once the trinket is complete. If, however, you do end up going with - as my sources tell me, based on our guesswork and what they are offering - the Wandering Clans, we would like you to consider spending time in Tir Amser at a later date. Should your desires be to craft for another nation, please know that the Rose Courts bid to you is not for some trinket - no matter the master piece that it might be - but for you, the Master, herself.

We add our bid to whichever one you choose, and implore you to visit Glaw Novo and teach others of your work. There is, perhaps, much that we might be able to teach you as well.

      Respectfully,
      Lady Spring, Kellianth Beagan
    • After the Unification Celebration of Avonlea, Lady Spring visits Fantastigoria, and officially has her mask added to their records as the Mask of Lady Spring.
    • Lady Spring hears a rumor that there was a child born of the heir to Avonlea and the Dullahan, and makes a mental note to have this looked into.
    • The disappearance of Chesuka from Luska bothers Kellianth. She resolves to find out more about what happened, as soon as other matters are settled.

    • The Dynasty requests permission to expand their religion (The order of the eternal soul) into the neighboring nations! (Nevarri League and Lignummus) They assume beforehand that there will be no issues based on histories and past treaties, though a formal declaration would be appreciated.
    • After several years of setbacks and minor issues the Dynasty is finally ready to join the crystal union with Xeroas as the capital!
    • Lilia is the new ruler of the Dynasty and head of the Emerald Division. She intends to place a large importance on religious expansion to both the east and west; though to the location of those precious tiny dragons in particular.
    • Lilia believes that the assassination of Grand Sheep Jack is the work of the Aeldir, though is is purely suspicion. Is the large nation worried that the southern power might rival them and thus attempt to destabilize them through a conveniently timed assassination? Without the Topaz division, they will be significantly weaker until they can recover.

It is said Lord Summer wishes to personally greet the human King in recognition of his father's fortitude in battle. Lord Summer sends for Helia Whitstone to join him in the Evergale Valley while the regions are seen to.
    • While administering the stability and distribution of the former Geshemefar regions Lord Summer hears of the Avonlean celebration and decides to make an impromptu visit to the Favored Kingdom.
    • Upon his return from his work in the Valley and the Badlands Lord Summer hears of the Grand Temple to Dagdian being built in the Winter Courtlands and orders his ablest craftsmen and speakers for the Old Gods to go and aid in Lord Summer's name. It is poor form to disrespect the Old Gods and with Lord Winter now speaking the Words again ever more watchful were they.

    Spoiler: Actions
    Show
[Military - Put Down Rebellion - 5000 troops - Primus (57)]: The High Queen's stoicism meets the Conferrus' rage with little more than an acknowledgement. After all, Breydice was planning to hand Secundus over to the Kingdom of Berrium anyway. She will not be sad to see it go.

However, the rebellion in Primus itself catches her off-guard. House Conferrus' attempts at rebellion are past the point of no return. Primus' entire political structure is built on having the royal family at the top; the Imperium's own capital region in rebellion is not tolerable. Breydice immediately calls on all available troops to quell this uprising, and personally leads them from the city of Valkyrie.

[Diplomacy - Attend Event - The Unification Celebration of Avonlea]:
    • Recieve Luskan Trade Language from Avonlea
    • Transfer Secundus (59) to the Kingdom of Berrium
    • Gift Moonsilver Weaponry technology to the Kingdom of Berrium
    • Trade Technology: Moonsilver Weaponry (Primus Imperium [HalfTangible]) for Therizin Riders (League of Allied Provinces [Pepper])
    • Agree to join Primus to Dandric Road next round

[Military 5 - Military Specialization: "Pay for Every Step" - Outnumbered on Land]: Sometimes sheer ferocity will succeed where tactics and numbers have failed. And if there's one thing the Primal are known for... its rampant sex and a matriarchy, but RIGHT BEHIND THAT they're best known for ferocity. (Increase die size when outnumbered and using solely land units)

[Curiosity - Trade Route Primaris - Add Quintas (197)]: Quintas is added to Trade Route Primaris, and the previously promised food begins to flow into the region. Lady Eventus, while very much integrating the Honmyo into her own house's culture, has managed to calm the region and provide for them despite her youth. Her house is appeased, as are her people.

[Diplomacy - Stabilize Sextus - Roll (16)]: In messages sent to the various religious heads, House Nocturnus shows the people of Sextus Moonsilver and its strange properties. Tales of the other lands under Primal rule and in their alliance, as well as the abilities of the Aima are used to sway the people. They also promise that the Primus Imperium's goals will surely lead to greater sources of magic than even the mysterious morphing metal and bloodseers.

Each of the tribes, of course, has their own reasons for either joining or refusing to join with the Imperium. The Shem are very much Primal in their commitment to self-improvement through battle, but seem to shy from the more carnal and visceral pleasures of life, as well as the brutality of a good kill. The Aa are just as invested in order as the Imperium, but they willfully enslave their women, and Nocturnus finds this utterly disgusting (though admittedly, the slaves are treated well). The Sul are clever and duplicitious and the most likely to accept women as leaders, but they are also a dishonorable, craven people that think a lust for battle is insane.

The best-case scenario (and also the most unlikely) would be for each of the three great clans to agree to work with the Imperium. This would mean that they would be under the thumb of a foreign power (sort of - Nocturnus would move in to manage affairs directly, and would technically be of their land within a few years) and given their matriarchal nature Primus is unlikely to accept Invictus. But the Imperium allows worship of all kinds so long as it does not supersede imperial rule, and magic to interpret the god's will could potentially be worth the cost.

    If.

    They will kneel.

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show
-Breydice asks the Rose Courts (through Aleuta) not to interfere in Primus' business again. She's letting it go this time because had they not done anything, the child could very well have died.

-High Queen Breydice orders Phelnia Primus to adopt the ruby child, and to care for it as if it were her own. To the surprise of all who witness it, Phelnia immediately bursts into tears and hugs her sister, thanking her profusely. Breydice's face remains as stone, but when Phelnia rises, she names the child Crudice.

    And Breydice smiles.

Crudice is now second in line to the throne, after Phelnia.

-Rumors that Prisca - the midwife to Crudice - would be granted her own noble house turn out to be unfounded. As Breydice points out, a midwife probably isn't going to have developed the skills needed to run land. She is instead brought into the royal palace and kept as one of the royal family's own midwives. The pay is good, at least.

-Varadia has begun fortifying Valkyrie against the rebellion in the capital region.

-Breydice is very grateful to the Kingdom of Berrium for its Rocs. She promises that she will endeavor to find another source of flying mounts as soon as possible so that Berrium can direct its trade to more profitable avenues.

-With the High Queen's killers found and the minor rebellion being put down, Breydice orders that House Nocturnus transfer Secundus to the Kingdom of Berrium. The House Conferrus forces that remained loyal will be allowed to return to Colonia.

-Lady Autumn has Breydice's blood oath of vengeance framed and hung in her room. Breydice's response is to facepalm and mutter "I love you too."

She then has to explain the concept of sarcasm to Rhona before she panics and/or starts planning "the cutest wedding ever"

-Illydae gives birth to triplets roughly nine months after her trip to the unification party in Avonlea: Antimus, Sevadus and Decimius, identical triplet sons. House Decimius raises an eyebrow at this name choice, but ultimately consider it a compliment.

-As Crudice reaches two years old, she begins to show an uncanny amount of intelligence for a girl her age. It's enough to raise an eyebrow, but not incredible.

Expansionist: High Queen Roethye adopted a highly expansionist national policy. While she claimed that she wished to incorporate other tribes and cultures willingly, there is an undeniable buildup of military force and an emphasis placed on invading/occupying other nations. (Die roll increase on Military actions made towards invasions/occupations of unclaimed regions)

[Cultural Identity: Imperial Order]: Fluff: The Primus Imperium - through guile and military might - is very adept at bringing new peoples into the fold. Their rapid expansion has made them extremely adept at making local populations see the benefits of being brought into the imperium, and the direct management of noble houses makes it an attractive proposition. After all, who better to manage one's lands than one who lives there?

And if you don't like your new overlords, you can always depose them.

[Curiosity 5 - Change Resource (Quintas, 197) - Elephants [Minor] ]: House Eventus has attempted to wrangle and capture the elephants of their region, using them as their territory's export in place of what little peyote remains in the territory.

[Curiosity - Exploration - North of Sextus (196)]: House Navus sends explorers north to check the lands between Sextus and the Jade Coalition. At this point, House Nocturnus is not prepared to rule any land because of their succession crisis, but Navus does not plan to take the land anyway.

      Show
A swift messenger craft preceded the Winter Armada, carrying an envoy to the warlord of the region.

To Whosoever Rules, know that the time of your judgement is at hand. The Aeldir are come to claim this land, to subjugate and rule all who dwell upon it. Our coming heralds a choice - you may array your meager force against the might of ages, or you may submit completely to us. To resist us is to consign yourself and the totality of your navy to disaster, to annihilation, for we will not brook the insolence of one so pitiful. Yet to surrender is to purchase not simply your life, but the prosperity of those you purport to rule. Confine your ships to port, lay down your arms, and your men will be permitted to return to their homes while you are given the opportunity to prove yourself worthy of remaining as governor. Choose quickly, for we approach on the wings of storms, and despair that your gods have seen fit to unleash the Aeldir upon you.

    4. [Curiosity] Bid on the Jeweler's Services. Roll=fumbled.
    5. [Military] Raise a Naval Unit in Wormwood
    6. [Military] Raise a Naval Unit in Bladesmire

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show

    • In order to spare the soldiery serious casualties as a result of attempting to conquer a lifeless desert with nothing more than foraged supplies, the South Sea company is contracted to extend existing supply lines to the new territory.
    • The emergence of the New Order of Daen and its very sudden spread to the eastern reaches of the Allied Provinces rocks Krozna's foundations. The city itself has a greater concentration of Daenites than anywhere else in the Allied Provinces, and some of the shifts in the Church's theology chafe against or even contradict the bedrock assumptions of Kroznat society. The changes are subtle at first; a change in the legal definition of the first wife no longer as merely the foremost member of a Patriarch's Harem but as an entity of her own, progressing onto the more radical measure of allowing noblewomen to directly own slaves rather than merely commanding them within her husband's household. Some conservatives lament the shift, fearing that soon Krozna will be indistinguishable from Avonlea or Primus, but these concerns are largely ignored.
    • A representative of the South Sea Company approaches the bargaining table to bid on the services of the Avonlean Jeweler, but is soon outbid and the Company chooses to route funds into more profitable investments rather than paying an exorbitant sum for a trinket.
    • The South Sea Company seems to grow wealthier and more powerful with every passing day, and with the Mirzahib's half-sister as its acting head, has the ear of several provincial lords throughout the former Kroznat League.
    • Caravans associated with the South Sea Company begin vying for stakes in the Federal Mint System, hoping to rise in power and influence by riding the wave. This swells the project budget, and with the Lords of Ambrose pushing for construction to finish as soon as possible the money is put into accelerating the work.

    Spoiler: News and Rumours

The Supreme Arbiter has issued the following Imperial decrees:
The Council, after much delegation, has agreed that each of the twenty Noble Houses shall pay the Dv'hk House five hundred head, for the loss of their fourth-born in the ill-fated explorations of the northern seas. The forty Greater Houses are likewise to each offer up one hundred head, a quarter of whom are to be appropriated by the Holy Order for memorial services. May Tl'shk-Dv'hk's name, and sacrifice, never be forgot. So it is written, so shall it be.

As pointed out by Tl'kk-Dv'hk, in discussions with the Council in preparation for his brother's memorial service, the journey back to the Homeland has been agreed upon as too far for comfortable travel. In turn, the Council has agreed to begin construction of a Necropolis in these new lands. Each House is responsible for the construction of their own tombs, including the design, costs, and manpower involved. The Council will, as is traditional, cover the costs of the blessings and rites performed by the Holy Order. Land has been set aside along the coastline of gN'kk for this purpose, with each of the Houses being grated a plot of equal size.

With House Kx'jhl's discovery of a suitable area for Imperial expansion to the south, and no interest of their own in partaking in such a potentially disastrous endeavour, a bidding war has broken out over which House shall be granted the honour of ownership. The bidding war between the Noble and Great Houses dragged on for nearly a full lunar cycle before the Lesser House of Dv'hk stepped in, and outbid all competitors. Twelve thousand head was the final agreed upon price for the title of the foreign lands. This caused some rumblings within the Council, as the Noble and Great Houses were offended at the audacity of the Lesser House. Yet with no House willing to match or beat their offering, in the end, the title fell to House Dv'hk.

A foreign dignitary arrived in port, and was immediately whisked away to see the Council in an emergency session. The Council, celebrating the arrival, spared no expense and threw a lavish party lasting an entire fortnight. After the party ended, the guest was escorted, by a full honour guard, to the port and showered with gifts to win favours. Tales of far away and strange lands are now circulating amongst the Houses, drumming up many supporters of House Dv'hk's planned expansion to the lands nearby to the south. Many members of the Lesser and Minor Houses are pledging manpower to assist in the endeavour.

    - Both nations agree to guard these two technologies carefully. The Rose Courts will not trade the process to create Minted Coins without first discussing matters with the Clans. The Wandering Clans will not trade the process to create Clinker Wood Ships without first seeking permission from the Rose Courts.

    • Lady Autumn is said to have sponsored two small fact finding missions relating to the Old Gods and the Children of the Earth and their 'Uca Jajaka' referred to as 'the New God' among some Autumnal Aeldir. Some believe the Children are worshipping a warped form of Niahlla or Babdi while others seem convinced the Dhuda Lonka have discovered a new god for the Aeldir.
    • Limelight Bayou is found to be nearly as unforgiving to non Gesh as Serafim Rosenbaum implied and so efforts to stabilize the region are spearheaded by loyal Geshem from Cape Silvia.
    • A copy of High Queen Breydice's declaration of an Oath of Vengeance against the Three Crowns is procured by Lady Autumn and framed on a wall in her study.
    • Duke Sand, reported to have complained about his service during the Avonlean Unification Celebration finds himself once more assigned to a backwater mission, dispatched to the recently discovered Rabbit's Foot which had been serving the Luskan Protectorate for an period of time without the knowledge of the Rose Courts. It is unknown what sort of reception an Aeldir presence will receive and so a fleet is sent.

    • With the tribes now fully united by the Cahoosa banner it is determined that the capital should be moved more centrally to the bulk of the territories. Puesto Cahuna is surveyed and the old city of Awatasa in the northern hump of the region's geography would afford itself well to a capital. There are some who note this shift also reflects the Cahoosa capital moving closer to the lands of the other Lords Paramount. That it is being built with a Pale Lady name is only more evidence to this theory.
    • The people of Cahuna are the most prosperous within the Confederation and their seduction of the council and the Cacique made them an easy prediction for a new capital.
    • Despite Atohi's abdication he still remains a heavily influential figure among the council and is still pursuing his own agenda. His plots are especially heavy relating to relations with the other Lords Paramount. Some accuse Salal of being a puppet Cacique though he retains control.
    • The appearance of aid to the Lord Paramount of the North from the Confederation is said to have originated from the old Cacique Atohi.

    The Grand Principality of Anceris
    Grand Princess Alessandra de Altan

A minor state of panic erupts within the Court of the Pearl Throne with the disappearance of the Spring Girl Cynfonni. Not only does this bring into question the possibility of a complete breakdown in Ancerin-Aeldir relations even more than currently, many fear for their own safety. The Opalis Palace was supposed to be the safest building in all of Anceris. For someone to have gotten in and out without anyone noticing... Needless to say, it is understood by all that whomever is responsible is not be long for this world. The Grand Princess herself travels West in the hopes of meeting with the Lady Spring to discuss the best method of proceeding.
Others ignore these events in favour of less apparent developments. The Grand Princess has begun looking far older than her half century would indicate. Though she states it is but a passing illness, many worry that her successor will fail to hold the realm together.

1: [Curiosity] All throughout the Grand Principality and even beyond agents and law enforcement bodies are charged with a mission of the utmost importance: Find the Spring Girl! (And whoever's responsible, but first thing's first.) Roll: 11 Luck 5: 20
2: [Diplomacy] Despite this most shocking event, the Principality's diplomats continue their work, matching the Aeldir figurative blow for figurative blow on the diplomatic stage. Continue pressing claim on Fan'Xabla. Roll: 26
3: [Diplomacy] With Kherson stabilised and Lycarus brought under Ancerin control, attention once more turns to the region between Cerilin and Regnalin. Press claim on 276. Roll: 19 Attend the Avonlean Unification celebration.
Subactions: -Sign the Contract of Courts and Grand Princess.
-Betroth Princess Giovanna de Altan to Archon Baram Asker.
4: [Curiosity] Following meetings with the previously unknown and subterranean nation of Carraigh Dún, arrangements are made to open up trade. Add Lycarus (251a) to the Blackspire Pass trade route.
5: [Diplomacy 10] In a somewhat unexpected move, Alessandra announces the formation of the Ancerin Empire, though she herself does not assume the title of Empress at this time, citing more pressing concerns than holding another coronation. However, she states unequivocally that her son, Vitale, shall be crowned Emperor upon his accession to the Pearl Throne. In short, form a great kingdom.

Nonaction: Retain Orthodox Daenism. Roll: 10.
    Further rolls: All failures.

Truly, I have misjudged them and I call upon you all to seek to educate yourself on the ways of those of Western Lands. Truly, their customs are strange to us, but we must not judge them out of ignorance for indeed they are as noble as any of us and worthy of our respect and friendship."

    Spoiler: News and Rumours
    Show
When Cynfonni disappeared, the city of Azandria was all but turned upside down and shaken in order to find her. A great number of very interesting and often illegal things were uncovered. The unexpected windfall from unpaid customs fees and taxes, as well as fines for the possession of various illegal goods, goes a long way to helping to pay for the massive investigation.

Any and all restrictions and sanctions on Aeldir travel are lifted, though they, like many others, will likely find the somewhat intrusive investigation into the disappearance of Cynfonni somewhat inconvenient and are thus advised to expect delays at ports and border crossings.

Following the Conclave of the Grand Church wherein the Elder Abbot made his announcements, those abbots resident in Ancerin lands gather in the Cathedral of Daen in the city of Azandria for a special synod to discuss the issue. The debate is heated and at times comes close to blows, but at last, a decision is reached. While the Elder Abbot is suspected of falling to the influence of a secular crown, his decisions are in line with the scriptures and Daen, as creator of all things, does indeed have characteristics of both a mother and a father. They warn however, that any attempt to declare Daen as one gender would not be taken well and that the High Queen of Avonlea, who is admittedly a wise and noble ruler, should focus her attentions on worldly concerns and not theology.
Nevertheless, a new stained glass window is commissioned for the Cathedral in recognition of this event. It depicts angels, both male and female, handing down wisdom to the Elder Abbot and the High Queen of Avonlea.

Once peace is assured between Anceris and Tir Amser, the Princess Giovanna departs Anceris with her servants, ladies-in-waiting and guards for the lands of Ambrose to meet her future husband and arrange their wedding. As is expected in Ancerin society she brings with her a dowry of gold and jewels, but breaks with tradition by deciding not to bring furnishings or linens to save space for her books and clothing.

Due to confusion about how trade routes work, my route from last round has been approved to represent what I had originally intended for it to do: instead of regions 270 & 232, my trade route action from last round should be 232, 268, & 269, so that 268 & 269 can actually get their needed resources (wood & food). Thank you, and sorry about the confusion.

    NPC ACTIONS
    Rolls

The Vincedom of Hess Tannan (120-122) collapses as tensions between the Copper Vault and the Vincehin reach an all time high. The Vincehin holds the capital and the loyalty of half the army but the Vault Leader, tired of waiting for revenge against the Aeldir, appropriates half the army and moves into the northern reaches of the Vincedom. (Region 122 is considered unoccupied by a recognized king though it retains 3 Military Units and the Military Score of the Vincehin (5). The same applies for Region 121 but with a 1d10 score for the Vault Leader's Military Score. Region 120 is unclaimed and without defense)

What remnants of loyalty to the Geshemefar die with Serafim and Region 97 is left unclaimed, uncolonized, and undefended.

In the Luskan Protectorate Chesuka's gift of the artifact from the people of the Rabbit's Foot (28) causes her to question her authority and position as leader of the people of Twilight and now the Rabbit Clan with so much having gone against her wishes during her reign. The idea of forcing the Rabbit Clan to enter into service to the Rose Demesne when they believed her to be their savior queen prompts her to reevaluate her purpose. Leaving the Protectorate in the hands of her friend Alysha, Chesuka disappears without a trace and takes the artifact of the Rabbit Clan with her, prompting many within the Foot to speculate on her eventual return with a great many fleets to free the whole of the island chain from oppression. Until then however the lands of the Luskan Protectorate are reeling to reorganize. Luska (9) retains its two fleets of naval units and must be claimed or conquered. The Rabbit's Foot (28) is defenseless and open to colonization, claim, and conquest. The Rose Courts have a claim to Luska (9).

With Fantastigoria pulled apart by neighboring powers the last bastion of purported independence in Fan'Xabla collapses as the region is consumed by the competition between Anceris and the Rose Demesne for the region.

The stress of the Nine Crowns Conflict and now the rash of rebellions within the Grey Empire prove too much for the island kingdom and it collapses into turmoil. Yahagmir, the White Isles, and Region 33 each become unclaimed, protected from colonists by one naval unit each. Gorthan itself comes up for claim, colonization, or conquest. Region 27 had been clearly intended for exchange to the Rose Demesne, granting the Aeldir a claim to the region. The White Isles, formerly part of the League of Allied Provinces, grants the LAP a claim to the region.

The Shafar Kingdom erupts once again into steppe warfare between warlords and the kingdom the Boqorka had hoped to forge falls into petty squabbling chiefdoms. Regions 252, 326, and 327 each maintain three land units which, while fractious, are more likely to unite than not against any outside force. Region 325 becomes the Boqorka's capital in exile but only supports one land unit and no organized administration. Region 328 is left unclaimed and undefended.

    Grand Church of Daen
    Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Round 8

    Elder Abbot Frerick
    Diplomacy: 3
    Military: 3
    Curiosity: 1
    Faith: 10

    Population: 500

In the winter months of 116 the Elder Abbot holds a special conclave of the Abbots and Abbesses summoned over the course of the previous years and announces to them his revelation. Daen is the Mother God, the god of women and fertility, and birth, and it is through this right that Daen rightfully claims all life within their dominion. Just as the sky feeds and nurtures the earth so too does Daen feed and nurture the mortals of Arandi. Still optioning not to define Daen as a male or a female themselves Frerick does insist that the teachings of the New Order of Daen, who do see Daen as a matron goddess, are correct and in line with the old texts. With concentrated effort to cull the Grand Church of orthodox hardliners the meeting itself is relatively non volatile and the announcement following it plays well among the now well indoctrinated Abbots retained at the Grand Church proper and the sympathetic followers of Daen nearby who were predominantly Avonlean. What remains to be seen is how the rest of the clergy and congregations will react. (TN: 12 non-action Faith roll to retain orthodoxy)

Following the announcement and hearing of the unity in Avonlea the Elder Abbot personally journeys to Wraith Harbor to witness and condone the High Queen's ability and fortitude. It is believed by some that this, alongside the announcement of the New Order becoming the canon of the Church and the likelihood of one of Avonlea's nuns taking the position of Elder Abbess following Frerick's abdication or death prompts many to see the Grand Church as having become a mere puppet for the Queendom. For some this marks the death knell for the Grand Church as a force for power balancing among realms following the laws of Daen as it had acted in times before.

1.) Replace the Grand Church of Daen with the New Order of Daen (Faith 10) [Faith]
2.) Attend the Avonlean Unification Celebration [Diplomacy]

In a reversal of the fate faced by the Grand Church the House of the Pale Lady finds itself quickly entering the political landscape of the northeast as the Lords Paramount begin to discuss further unification. The House remains attentive and engaged in these political developments and ensures priests and priestesses are dispatched to the realms to ensure religious unity among the people of the four lords. Some say the Veiled Lady is preparing to call on the Pale Lady to bless the unification of the realm when the time comes.

    Ascetic Qorobus Daiy
    Diplomacy: 4
    Military: 1
    Curiosity: 3
    Faith: 7

    Population: 400

The conclusion of the construction of the Temple of Peace is attended by Ascetic Qorobus Daiy and his guest, Enyrre Blackswan of Avonlea. Enyrre is met with the appreciation of people who's husbands and wives were saved by her hand during the Battle for Aneth. Many more attending the Temple's opening however are widows and orphans eager to put the past behind them. Enyrre is invited by the Ascetic Daiy to stay on at the Temple for a while and provide care and aid for the people. With no other demands of her time the former Avonlean maiden agrees and joins the Ascetics at the Temple. While she has yet to formally convert herself she is often found reading the writings of some of the Doctrine's most influential Ascetics.

Qorobus Daiy to little surprise is named as the Caretaker for the Temple though the burden of ownership and responsibility for the Doctrine and its Temples is, as always, shared among all followers of the Nine. While there are those who find Daiy's pacifist and peaceful methods irritating and his sermons to turn the other cheek and to accept with humility all that befalls oneself as the words of the weak many who are tired from war find solace in these teachings. Soon the Doctrine, especially influenced by Day's vision, begins to spread out from the Temple.

    Army

    Navy
    1,000

The results from the investigation into Roethye's death prompts many, notably the Knight Protector's wife, to push for a reinstigation of war with the Three Crowns. To stoop so low as to send assassins after Roethye in desperation speaks volumes to the character and honor of the southern kingdoms. The civil war in Primus however consumed the Imperium's time as well as seeing to troubles at home and so war is avoided though the Knight Protector denounces the Three Kingdoms as cowardly honorless dogs and refuses to permit their entrance into his kingdom.

Desiring to help build up the Primus Imperium the Kingdom of Berrium works to tend to the needs of Primus, capturing and exporting Rocs from the Mercivale to the Primal capital. While the unrest already stirred into a fever pitch by the rogue House Conferrus will need to be dealt with by Breydice through force of arms it is hoped that these shipments will prevent further unrest from developing. It is during this time when news reaches the Knight Protector of Freia Silvervein and her auction for her services relating to the Star Metal. Seeing the potential to help stabilize and prevent further death through mystical means the Knight Protector dispatches a sect of money changers to accompany the official delegation to Avonlea.

Work continues as it always does in the Jade Coalition, improving the Puldine Acreage further with an expansion of their economy. It is hoped that this might allow more trade to develop with the southern continentals for the tribes of the Coalition greatly enjoy the items brought in along the Dandric Road.

Building up the defensive fleet becomes a priority as news trickles in of the might of the southern powers and disturbs the Zol into action. A few protest over a concern of appearing militant though their true fear over where the loyalty of the armies and navies will fall when the Krolzer lies dead is apparent.

In a surprising move owing to the Krolzer's contentment with the size of the Coalition as it stands a dispatch of explorers is sent east along the northern stretch of land. Why or what they are looking for it unknown to the Council.

Though courted by both Aardrosil and the Nifhel, Chief Harod remains supportive of the House of the Pale Lady and its decision for his realm, not the whims of secular realms. The people here are still devoted to the House and especially to Ayasa for while they were defeated by the Nifhel and suffered under their occupation it was brief and it is well known that Ayasa was responsible for their returned freedom. Some do take up the Nifhel concern over having been left to the Nifhel wolves but many point out that the problem there lay more with the Nifhel being wolves than with Ayasa arriving late.

The Chief orders construction of Houses for the Lady across his lands and continues to improve his small realm's strength.

    Population
    146:

    Army
    3,000

With peace now marginally assured by the treaty signed by Theodon and the Crystal Union the resurgent king begins looking out over his realm with a far more appraising eye. The region might still support greater levies, and while Theodon intended to stick to his end of the deal with the Union for self preservation if nothing else he would have been a fool to think a piece of paper alone would save him. He was smart, and more importantly perhaps, lucky but he couldn't expect that to hold things together forever.

He had never intended to expand, in fact he'd never particularly intended to truly rule but with developments as they were it seemed only right now to secure a true kingdom. The Braumus Empire may have collapsed into nothingness but it had left something behind, Theodon. While he doubted and sought not to restore the Empire there was still much he had learned in his time as a soldier in service to the Imperadus. Chief among these lessons was the power of land. Land was the key to the people that furnished an empire and borders were marked by the natural shape of the lands. If he wished to truly do more than survive as a plump warlord sitting in his castle waiting for doom to find him he would need more land. He would need a true kingdom.

    Fluff Post

Spoiler: A Letter to the Three Crowns
    Show
I do not know which of you assassinated my mother. But the Jade Coalition and the Kingdom of Berrium have found enough evidence to know it was one of you. And you attempted to frame the Satsujin for your crime, while claiming that you respected my mother as a military general.

    This is not acceptable.

Let me make myself clear: My armies are not marching on your lands, nor will they. We are under treaty, and I will keep that treaty for the sake of the League, Colonia, and the Doctrine of the Ninth Peace. I do not plan to launch an invasion the moment that peace ends, either.

But there is no penance you can pay that will make up for your lies. Nor any that will assuage my own wrath.

At the bottom of this document, you will find my seal, made in blood. On that blood, I hereby swear an oath of vengeance. This is directed to whomsoever amongst the Three Crowns slayed my mother, High Queen Roethye Primus the Proud:

So long as the Primus Imperium exists, we will never be a friend to you.

Your people are not welcome any longer in my lands. Your diplomats have been sent home, and my own are hereby recalled. The Prevaz Highborn I still posses have tripled in price. Were their ransom not part of the treaty of the ninth peace, I would have executed them.

The Imperium has been VERY generous to you under the circumstances of the Six Crown Conflict. You attacked the League unprovoked. The Imperium stepped in to aid its friends, and when you failed to defeat us in battle, you deigned to sink to the tactics of a coward. Killing an enemy general on the field of battle is one thing, killing them in their own bedchamber is another. What I should be doing is grinding your entire nation into the dusts of history, and scattering them to the winds.

Instead, when you came to us with an offer of peace, we took it. The terms in the treaty were very favorable, with your greatest loss being one or two territories. Knowing now that you even got our High Queen out of the deal, you made off like a bandit.

    So.

Until the coward that sent assassins after Roethye in her own bed lays dead on the stone of Valkyrie, that is the last time Primus will be so generous with your people.

Give me an excuse to wipe you off the map, and I will, with a relish. If you ever step out of line, you will never know the air of peace again. I will grind you beneath my boots as an ant. Not even the gods will spare you from my wrath.

I WILL SEE WHAT PASSES FOR FURY AMONGST YOUR MISBEGOTTEN KIND!!!!

High Queen Breydice of the Primus Imperium

    • Acting at the request of Councillor Valdiri of Noricum, the Master Architect sends several wagon trains of drimma to the Chiefdom of the Perin Tundra, with an offer of assistance in their rebuilding projects in recognition of their valiant defense of the House in the face of overwhelming force.
    • There is much excitement in the Clan Hall over the news of the recovered starmetal in Avonlea; it being one of the rarest of the First Architect's creations, any drimma smith would pay a chest of gold simply for the privilege of watching it being worked. After some debate, an offer is sent: In exchange for her services, the Clans will build Freia an estate, with workshop and forge made to her specifications, and provide a dozen master's to act as her assistants for the duration of the crafting.

Spoiler: Contract of Clans and Courts
    Show

The Rose Courts, in keeping with friendly terms with the Wandering Clans, agrees to a trade of recently developed technologies. The two nations trade their respective Clinker Wood Ships and Minted Coins production processes, under the following terms:
    - The Wandering Clans acknowledge Rose Court claims to the Babdi Ocean (so named by the Aeldir, but recognized by many other races as a the 'Central Ocean' or 'Center Sea'), and will not operate Clinker Wood Ships within those waters
    - Both nations agree to guard these two technologies carefully. The Rose Courts will not trade the process to create Minted Coins without first discussing matters with the Clans. The Wandering Clans will not trade the process to create Clinker Wood Ships without first seeking permission from the Rose Courts.
    - Delegations from each nation will be sent to the other, to help instruct on these two processes, and keep to the accord.

[Curiosity] - In light of recent events, the council of elders suggests it would be a good idea to explore more near by land and see what resources they may hold. Zin'Aii agrees, and sends an exploration team to some still undiscovered near by areas. Explore area East of region 244.
