Default Looking for ideas for a high-magic themed restaurant.

    Hi,

my players will visit an restaurant during the next session.
I want to have as much magic as possible and looking for ideas.
Like maybe fire elementals cooking the food in front of them.

Thanks for the ideas and have a nice day.

    - Dishes that play with temperature in otherwise impossible ways - steaming hot icecream, drinks chilled down to the point where they should cause bodily injury but augmented with a few drops of resist cold potion.
    - Molecular gastronomy, but using Transmutation magic to achieve the ends - everything from the crude (stone to flesh = boulders to steaks) to the pointless (here's a salad you can inhale as a vapor!) to really clever subtle things like transmuting something before cooking then releasing the transmutation to achieve a bread-like rise, or a specific pattern of holes, or whatever.
    - Dishes that exploit Prestidigitation to present flavors that can't be produced naturally - stuff remembered from dreams, or cross-associations which the cook experienced under the effects of psychedelics and then used magic to turn into 'a flavor', etc. Very high end could be someone doing a mind dive on the patron to make dishes that taste *exactly* like their childhood memories.
    - Dishes with animated or interactive components implemented via illusions (or for the darker, edgier areas, through transmutation - 'we Awakened your meal to sentience so you can enjoy its suffering' sorts of stuff)
    - Health food++ - magical foods which grant buffs, cure diseases, erode long-standing curses, even slowly change the shape of the customer's body (the fat in *this* dish won't go to your waist!)
    - Mental manipulation stuff, like a meal designed to mess with the customers' sense of time so even if it only takes them 30 minutes they feel like they had 8 hours of relaxing over a constant stream of food and drink (a full day's rest, on the go!).
    - Foods intended to serve a truly diverse clientele - stuff for entities that consume rocks, thoughts, magic, belief, virtue, song, etc.

Table of feasting (stronghold builder's guidebook pg.84; casts Heroes Feast 3/day). For bonus high magic, the table could also be an intelligent item; it's its own benihana chef

    Venger's Korraneleus d'Orien had a fun idea...

They arrived at their destination a frighteningly short time later. None of the restaurants Korraneleus suggested were still extant, so he reluctantly took his grandson’s suggestion about where to dine.

“You’ll love it,” he said. “It’s this charming little place called ‘The Empty Plate.’ The chef comes and manifests false sensory input on you and you have whatever you like.”

Korraneleus wasn’t sure quite how to respond to that.

*The interior is a non-euclidean space

*all the meat comes from a single cow that they keep slapping regenerate on

*The plates and tables right themselves if knocked over

*Cooking method: Zombie cows walk through a big furnace

*all the food is pre-prepared and stored with the stasis version of shrink item

*the restaurant is in a big cavern, the chef knows stone to flesh and all the food is made out of meat carved from the wall

    EDIT:
*The tables and chairs have no legs, they just float in the air

*the fire in the stove is a fire elemental

    *chef is an awakened rat

*You don't come to the restaurant, it comes to you. Or maybe just the door does and its a portal

*none of the tables or chairs or napkins or plates ever get dirty, no matter how much grease and ketchup get smeared on them

Not only a fire elemental / gennasi for the main course, also an ice elemental / gennasi to prepare your desserts.

An illusionist could create a desired ambience.

All the lighting would be magical and permanent and the walls and floor could be built by creating the materials so e.g. it could be made of wood but you don't see seams between boards but one continuous area.

You are served by magical creatures (elementals? Imps? ...).

By trigger (e.g. one full circle on the rim of your glass with a finger) you can refill your drink.

If everything is achievable by magic I would suppose there are interesting options:
    - it could be a small restaurant where one magic user is doing all the necessary stuff. You pay a fixed amount per person and you will get a fine meal. Imagine a small Japanese ramen bar with that one perfect recipe of ramen
    - it could be extravagant and be a place for high society to enjoy everything you can think of. It could be more of a show than a restaurant.
    - Maybe the main attraction is the once per day use of a fancy artifact that is placed prominently in the center of the room on a pedestule.
    - maybe it doubles as / is part of a place of worsbip for a deity of magic.

*literal food of the gods. Nectar, ambrosia, amrita, peaches of immortality, golden apples etc.

*Instead of preparing the fugu properly thay let you borrow a periapt of proof afainst poison

*you can eat and eat and eat and not get full or get fat

    *decanters of endless ketchup/mustard/barbecue sauce/ranch dressing/etc.

*all the salt is inported directly from the quasielemental plane of salt

    *the napkins are magic scrolls

*Thanks to flesh to stone all the walls and maybe the tables and stuff are made of ground beef

*they slay the cow in front of you with finger of death

*they slaughter *and* cook the cow in front of you with flame strike

    EDIT:
*similar to the above the produce the dried meat with horrid wilting

A +6 Everdancing dagger that went into business for itself sounds like a terrific NPC.

*They use the clone spell and you eat yourself
    *gentle repose-based meat storage
    *water turned into wine tableside
*they boil water by casting fire spells underwater
*through the power of magic healthy food now tastes good
*the water at your table is holy water
*magic heavy bard performance on stage

The only person who actually eats is a highly trained food critic, while all the customers use telepathy to enjoy the food via his finely honed senses.
