Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Perhaps it's just an illusion that he's smart. Maybe he invented some spell called "Thinking image: Creates an illusion of yourself that only you can see, and that will take the most logical course of action in most cases as it has a wisdom score of 12. You have to make a DC 15 Profession (Staying in sync) check every round to do whatever the thinking image is doing." After all, he did stay in sync with that henchman guy pretty long, so he should have some ranks in that.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
That would still be intelligence which is still Wizard-necessary, he's most likely lacking in Wisdom severely

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
A small update for today. I started writing character descriptions for a friend, and I figured that they would make a good addition to the thread, so I added them. Expect to see more characters in there popping up sooner or later.

A good summary of the characters without revealing too much.

Character summaries are cool, but not a proper substitute for the real thing!

That's the good thing about using spells on invisibles. They get no concealment and you get a 60-ft. range margin of error!

ZARAH CHANGED THE BANNER! why? I liked the last one

78% of DM's started their first campaign in a place other than a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature. Were a minority here, people.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
I've always wanted to update it with something a little newer for about a month now, but couldn't come up with anything I liked. With the addition of the characters section, I figured I'd just go with a simple title banner.
Besides, given how much crap is piling up in that main post, I wanted to replace the banner with something a little smaller.[ There was a signature here. It's gone now. ]

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
You know, you are going to have to add Frank and Andil to the characters section.

I miss the old banner. This new one is kind of boring.
It feels like a part of me has died inside.

Don't get our hopes up FoE, it's not nice of you
But I too liked the old banner more. But it's a matter of personal taste, I guess.Adrie, half elven bard. Drawing by Vulion, avatar by CheesePirate. Colored version by Callos_DeTerran. Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
The new banner is more or less a placeholder until I can make something I like more. Unfortunately, what I want to do can't really be revealed until after I introduce some new characters. And yes, I will be adding more characters into the bio section, once I get some more time to write them up.
Anyway, here's today's issue:

Just the one magic missile? That doesn't make sense...
Also: Neato spell effects, really fun to draw

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
two... three... four! Four different cliche's for this sort of battle proven to be absolutely false.
1. When the villian says he's been holding back, he's just bluffing.
2. When the villian strikes first, his attack is obvious and easy to block.
3. When higher level fighters (or wizards, as the case may be) are distracted, the plucky novice will get in the crucial blow.
4. Getting the villian to fight "someone your own size (/specialization)" always ends badly for the villian.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Very cool Shadow Evocation. Not so cool Magic Missle. But then, the old standby has never looked quite right in any OOTs-style comic I've seen.
Good strip, though. Attack the hero's girlfriend? That's first-rate villainry.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
It was done in Photoshop, quite easily I might add. It's just a black outer glow around a layer of the lightning shape.
Also, I realize there's only one magic missile. Technically, there should be 5, but it looked far too cluttered in such a small space with that many missiles. So I kept it simple. Think of it as the last of the train, or something.[ There was a signature here. It's gone now. ]

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Undead are immune to both [fear] and [mind-affecting] magic, and Adrian could easily make himself immune to either one with a variety of spells, magic items, or class features. Adrian is apparently badass enough that taking him out for as long as it takes to get to Keriss and cast Revivify(and that's why I figure it's not Finger of Death or Wail of the Banshee, since Revivfy mimics Raise Dead and [death] magic-caused deaths need a more powerful spell to reverse) is probably worth a 9th level spell. While Phantasmal Killer might do the job, Weird has a higher save DC as a 9th level spell, which is important since it allows 2 saves.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Is it judging you if I tell you I like it? Nice! How about one of my favorite Ranger, Keriss?
And, can someone give me a down and dirty (not that kind of down and dirty, unless you're into that sort of thing) explanation of what Weird and Shadow Evocation do?Last edited by HUMVEE Driver; 2008-04-08 at 10:42 PM. Reason: Added questions
