Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Heh... Something similar happened to me on my Yahoo account.
I had HALO set up to email me whenever something was posted on our wiki. I didn't check my Yahoo in ages.
Then I checked it.
Just over 1000 unread messages, nearly all of them "XXX Has posted a reply on HALO Emergency Thread."This avatar by Phase.

Wow 1000 e-mails, that's...damn. I've only got like 300 e-mails as it is and I've had this account two years and not deleted any e-mails.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
*blink*
I'm sigging that song now. Just for the theme naturally, but it looks scarily good considering it's dubbed and from that studio.
But who cares about that right now? I've been at the festival since eleven and it's one of the best one I've ever seen. I saw two of the three parades and one of them had Chinese drums and a Chinese dragon in one secrtion.
The other parade had Indian dancers and all the local school were in all three parades and they did so well making their withy floats.
Plus the music was fantastic, there were belldancers in the secondary main street, Latin music in the 'mall', tango dancers (and free lessons) going on till five in one of the gardens and the Mock Mayor dropped his cabbage staff.
And we have another fair.
Not going to it though.
Also: I got both parts of ASoIaF in one book for only £2.29! My day is wonderful.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Let's see... Emails in the past, oh I dunno, say month... Well, let's see shall we?
...Oh well would you look at that? It's none. Who would've thought?
...
I don't even get spam.
I've had my email for about a year; I have less than 20 emails. Most, if not all, of which are newsletters which I had to receive in order to install programs.Last edited by Player_Zero; 2008-06-28 at 10:13 AM.

Psh. Seen the Chinese parade stuff a dozen times while in Singapore, seen Indian dancers same place, seen belly dancers out in the desert here, in a traditional village in the dunes.

Hooray for email accounts that block all messages except the ones that you allow. No spam, no porn, no.... Nasty advertisements... Yeah.
I DO have one to sign up on forums and other stuff, but I never use it, and I check it rarely. Yeah, that one is filled with "_____ Has posted on ______ in the haloitp wikispace".

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
My semi-abandoned Hotmail account contains 8194 messages, of which 4963 are unread and the oldest is from the 6th of August 2004.
My current gmail account, active since May last year, has 387 messages, 0 unread, and no spam.
I don't know how this happens, but I think I need to make more use of the delete function.Last edited by potatocubed; 2008-06-28 at 10:35 AM.

In the year I've had my hotmail account I've had twenty emails.
Most from me to me with work or from a friend who wants me to join Bebo. Cursed devil-site!

Keep up the fight, Curly. The fight against the evil dictatorship of networking sites.
People keep bothering me to get Facebook. I refuse, as it is the devil-talk. Annoyingly there are apperently loads of pictures of me on there. *mutters grumpily* I don't even recall any pictures being taken...
Also: empty houses make odd noises. Very odd noises. *cowers in the corner with a broom* Back! Fie, demons!

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Yep, that's how I see 'em. 'cept I have no friends other than him who want me to join one. So I'm free of all devil-sites.
And I love empty houses. Mine's around 110 yrs old and as my room's in the attic it's amazing to listen to the house. Or its ghosts. Or both.
How old's yours? If it's less than fifty, your house is possessed and needs an exorcism.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
It's Edwardian, and at the very least earlier than world war 1. We found a bayonet when we were knocking down the tumbledown shed filled with asbestos at the bottom of the garden. Quite a few houses nearby were damaged or destroyed in the Blitz, but my road came out relatively unscathed.
The thing is that it's not creaks and groans... more clanks and crashes in the walls. Probably the birds nesting in the eaves, or a sqrrl.
I don't get ghosts. If you were able to hang out in the mortal world for all eternity, why would you shuffle about an old house making silly noises? It defies logic. The stories are usually good though. Nice an' gruesome.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Eeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhhh.
2 hour pre-ball drinking sesh on cider, carlsberg and spiced rum. Ball, intense sambuka/carlsberg/guiness drinking, and a real deep mano-a-mano with my head of 6th form (he's a legend). After-ball pub crawl for an hour and a half, moving onto corona/more shots of sambuca. After-ball after-crawl clubbing, more corona. After-everything random barn party, more spiced rum. Overall, last night I somehow managed to spend £40 on alcohol, plus all the drinks bought for/given to/left alone near me. Feeling it very much so today, but can't stop, mate's birthday I got to go to in a couple hours. Need to top up on the rum.
Also, drunkenly beasting friend's quad around a few fields and country lanes was totally worth the bruises I have from high-speed hedge interceptions.(^")^ ¬<("v)

Note to self: don't drink. Except for two martini and lemons per wedding reception if bought by parents.
Sounds nasty that does.
