Zhou Yu is my best character too, and historical/novel-wise too. Or one of them.

Or that my # key is sticky as in tacky to the touch?
Perhaps your # key has grown tired of always being pushed down and decided that being slightly icky was the best way to fight back.

Zhou Yu was just fun to play, but he sucked against groups (which, in a mook-slayer like Dynasty Warriors is a really bad thing). Zhao Yun, now there was a crowd clearing machine.

Well, tell us what's on it, and we'll order it for you. From stuff you've mentioned I'd say:
    1) The Poisonwood Bible - because it's fantastic
    2) Beowulf - Anglo-Saxons ftw
    3) The Tale of Genji - have I got the right 11th century Japanese novel?
    4) The Romance of the Three Kingdoms

To make more choices I'd need to know more of your list. I am, however, going to be annoying and suggest another one. You've got to read Hong Lou Meng (aka 'The Dream of Red Mansions' aka 'Dream of the Red Chamber'). This is considered to be the pinnacle of Chinese literature. I'm afraid it is a bit 'cherry blossoms fall, everybody dies' but it's also a wonderfully detailed observation of life, love and society in Ming-dynasty China. Sadly I can't find a good online version (I have it in paperback), but maybe Cristo or Hoggy know of one.

Dragonrider: Cowboy space opera - yay!

Griever: A Tale of Two Cities is definitely worth reading at least once in your life.

Player_Zero: I was enjoying storytime, but then I had to go to bed, and following that, work.

Don't have number one. Although I did see it for 50p in a charity shop, so maybe. But I'm saving for Saturday. Reading 2) at the moment (along with six other things); yes, that's the right novel (only got it in romanji at the moment but fiding the English version. And 4) is on my shortlist.

I tried to get into Tale of Genji and Dream of the Red Chamber, and I found them so disgustingly boring I pretty much gave up after the third chapter for both of them. Yes, they really help you understand ancient culture, but they're still dreadfully boring. Given that I read as enjoyment, that's an unacceptable trait in a book for me.
