Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
Burk is the greatest. Burk is the reason I keep coming back. I celebrate and do a happy dance whenever there's a comic about him.
Tobi is okay, and I keep coming back to see that she's okay, but that's about it. No happy dance for Tobi comics.
Don't take this the wrong way, but to me, Noah comics are just annoying and leave me saying "dang it, why couldn't it be a Burk comic this time?! ".
You have made Burk so awsome that the other character comics are tedious to read in comparison! Either make Burk comics more or Noah more awsome!
Just my opinion.Last edited by Green-Shirt Q; 2008-12-22 at 09:15 PM.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
Burk's personality is pretty much designed to be "instantly awesome"; so I can understand him being most likable.
I actually held a little poll on DA; right now Tobi's most popular of the 3 for some reason.
The big reason Noah's story isn't as awesome as the other two is probably the fact that it's the only one who'se still very VERY much in it's story building phase; rather than the "journey" already going on.
There'll be A LOT of things happening in Noah's story in only a few comics though, I hope all the build up for it will just be worth the wait.
I'll be honest in saying that right now Burk & Tobi's stories are more fun to make comics for; mostly because their events and happenings seem most "character related"
Noah's comic probably has a weak point in the fact that right now it doesn't seem to be about Noah as much; he comes across roughly as important as Eloy & Hevel in terms of presence.
This will all change dramatically in a short while though, there's been plenty of hints and foreshadowing for things that will happen in Noah's story; and I'm pretty sure everyone notices how close to the event where it'll all go awry is getting.
I just really hope that I can make Noah's story on par with the others when I finally get there though.
That being said, each story is supposed to represent the character in several ways; due to the nature of Noah's personality it wouldn't make sense for his story to just "start" like Burk & Tobi's.
But these are aspects of each story that may become more obvious when I pass by 100 pages or so, because it's still far too early to really make any judgement or claim about "the bigger picture".
I'm actually planning to speed up Noah's story from now on by just releasing extra long chapters [like 7-8 panels per page] so that a lot more can happen in a short time, and when all pieces are in place it can slow down again.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
Well if it makes you feel better, Noah's is still my favourite story of the three. Tobi's comes second and Burk is last. I don't mind Burk, but his story doesn't seem to have as much of a plot as the other two.
I glad that he refused, though. At least he's not as stupid as he looks :P

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
I have to agree with Lissou- I love Noah's part. Burk is pretty awesome too though.
Tobi, however... I like the character, but her plot is still too vague for me. In Noah's I can see the hints of intrigue and try to piece things together, but Tobi is just wandering around and interacting with things rather aimlessly (from my perspective) now. There are mysteries, but no hints.

In my personal opinion:
Noah > Burk > Tobi
But I'm still entertained by Tobi's.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
It actually has a lot to do with my intention for Tobi's story/character; although not everything is necessarily purely meant to correlate to the hero directly their journey/story is a strong reflection on who they are.
Either way, for at least 2 out of 3 the next few pages will really really spin the direction of their story around, so if I manage to do it right it'll be going a bit different from now on.
Burk kinda annoys me.
Either way; Page 54!
I made it extra long because it'd be a nightmare for anyone to go through the following segment in just a few 4-panel pages.
Spoiler
Although it's not necessarily the best name for it, as it's semi-plot relevant; there's at least one "easter egg" in this page for the observant watcher.
I'll probably upload page 55 later today as well, I had to sprite for days to get all the characters for these scene done; but now that they're all there it's a breeze to make new pages for.Last edited by Neoriceisgood; 2008-12-23 at 11:27 AM.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
My favorite characters are Noah>Mr. Acorn>Tobi.
Seriously though, Burk comes last. He's funny, but he doesn't have much of a plot around him.
And is this 'easter egg' having anything to do with the fact that you finally make use of speech balloons for the first time?Last edited by The Gremlin; 2008-12-23 at 11:40 AM.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
Nah, it's actually plot relevant to some extend; it's related to the crowd.
I did use text balloons for the first time though! that's true.
[they work well for unimportant "off hand" comments imo.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
It's creepy how all the joy group members have the same white-filled, blank-expressioned eyes.
I'm inclined to say it's someone from Tobi's story... Probably one of her friends. I knew it had to do with the crowd, though. At first I was looking at the guy on the very right in the first panel... He looks kinda like Noah....
OH! That's one of the bandits, isn't it?

That ugly, creepy girl is in the crowd? There's someone standing way at the back in the first panel?
EDIT: Ooh! There's someone ominous standing behind Noah who is wearing black and whom doesn't clap when everyone else is clapping.Last edited by Zanaril; 2008-12-23 at 01:27 PM.

Re: Pixelart Webcomic: Updates Regularly.
Those are 3 noticable figures who may or may not play a big part in the climax of this story arc.
I'll just add a little *cough*joy*cough* as a subtle hint to what I was refering to, though.
That being said; Comic 55!

Nice. I'd laugh if he survived, since it'd be oddly reminiscent of Austin Powers.

I've seen your posts around, and kept meaning to say something, but it was always when I was reading through fairly old threads. I figured you'd check back here to see it there was a new comic, so might notice.
