Faerie and I are down for the Poe tour on Friday, but I have already done the DC thing. I also thought Zeb wanted to take me to his "beer place".

It could have been much better, but it still pretty darn good for a Smithsonian exhibit. Not to mention that there were numerous scavenger hunts and other such sheneniganry being put on by various groups, which added a lot to the exhibit.

Regarding the Poe museum: Friday afternoon is fine with me. It would be helpful to me if we could meet at the hotel or Troll Cave, rather than at the museum; and if Succubus and I could ride with someone else at that point to the museum.
Regarding DC: I recommend, if you go, park at a metro station and take that downtown. The stop you want is helpfully called "Smithsonian". It's in the middle of the Mall, walking distance to nearly everything you'll want to see, and you can get to it via the orange and the blue lines. It beats trying to park downtown, in my opinion.

Essentially, they lied about everything they were going to do for us. So, at Drug Warehouse, we get our vacation renewed on our anniversary date, right? Mine is October 22 and I would get my 7 days back.
Walgreens does it by calendar year, which means their vacation (which is 2 weeks for 2 years for me, aww yeah) starts over on Jan 1st.
What they ORIGINALLY told us was that they would either pay us out for unused vacation or let the unused vacation roll over into next year AND we would get our Walgreens vacay on January 1st.
Aha, not so.
We're not getting paid for our unused vacation, and on Jan 1st we're getting a prorated number of vacation days, depending on what our Anniversary date is.
I get two days to last me a whole year.
Thankfully, vacation is rolling over. So when I get renewed at the end of this month, I get seven days. But I'm using three of those to visit the girl who roleplays as my Loki on tumblr who lives in Texas some time in November.
So, I think I'll have plenty of days left for the June Meetup. Just none for this one.
I'm really sorry that I've not been responsive in this thread lately. Life is happening and at a somewhat staggering pace. Thankfully, that will slow down this weekend so that I can enjoy the meetup with everyone!
Okay, just to nail down some things.
I think our current plan is to meet up at the LaQuinta Inn (where most people are staying), in the room where the continental breakfast is served, at some point after the Poe tourism is over. When is negotiable, of course, but we were thinking in the 6:00 to 7:00 time frame. We have no plans for food, but eateries are plentiful and nearby.
For Saturday, we want to caravan from the LaQuinta by about 8:30am in order to arrive at the RenFest in time to get group rate tickets before the gates open. We'll stay at RenFest until everyone is ready to go, but the gates close at 6:00. Traditionally we don't stay until close.
Saturday night will feature games and camaraderie in the same room as Friday night and will last until concluded or until we are kicked out of the room. We expect this to coalesce around 6:00 or 7:00. For those playing in the Red Dragon Inn: Beer University Edition, we'll probably start some time between 8:00 and 9:00 in the same room.
Sunday is the farewell day and we don't make plans for that day. We encourage everyone who comes to drop by the Troll Cave so we can say proper farewells, though. Hanging out and gaming will definitely happen, so don't feel like you have to wait until you're leaving to come over.

It's low 50s high 40s right now, so pack for chilly as well as for pleasant.

Surgery done and things are going better than expected. I go to post op appointment tomorrow (to remove something, maybe sutures) but as of right now it looks like I am coming to the meet up
