That last panel was so worth it. "In full paint" indeed.

    "Knights in Stanley's Service"

That was a well-played gag. I also like the in-comic recognition that the rules of Erfworld may not apply to Parson, which means that a test of this is coming in the future. Whether or not they do is left to be determined.

Oh, I like Parson's determination and drive here. The K.I.S.S. squad's great, too, but Parson's decision to try to get Stanley to fight the battle according to his strategy is admirable and exciting.

There used to be an rumor that KISS stood for "Knights in Satan's Service." The rumor was used to try to persuade young impressionable kids from listening to the devil's music.

    Ah, OK. Thanks.

So in this reference, Stanley = Satan. Heh. I always imagined him taller. And more red.

And the difference between an Erfworlder and an out-Erfworlder. Wanda broke, Sizemore dispairs, Parson wants the job done. The fierce Bogroll is also something fun, since it is so out of his former self.

Perhaps we'll be seeing a Karmic Death for Stanley when Parson fights him for control of Gobwin Knob.

Or not. It does seem likely that Parson will be able to grab Stanley's position when Stanely flees... if he wants it

Really, what needs to be explained?
They're in full kiss makeup (Love gun era apparently. Simmons costume became a bit more elaborate during the 80s) and they're wielding axes.

It's worth pointing out that from his reaction in this page, Bogroll does seem to actually be siding with Parson, and not just doing his duty.

Totally In-Character for Parson to do this, so I'm just chomping at the bit to see the next one. If Parson does challenge Stanley, and win, what would they re-name KISS? KIHS? KIPS? And would they have to repaint themselves to look like Hamsters? :D

I wonder what it is that a Chief Warlord can do to a caster, and if they have anything to make casters snap out of a blank shock. Because they ARE gonna need Wanda's help.

Also, I kinda doubt that Parson challenges Stanley and nothing happens. After all, Parson DID laugh and shut up on command.

Indeed! And it is exactly that sort of thing that makes all of the 'The good guys have won. Parson has no hope now. This comic is unsalvageable now. Bad storytelling! Baaaaad storytelling!' posts so irksome every time it seems like our protagonist suffers a reverse. There's a lot of storytelling to be done, and a million different ways things can play out, that can't be foreseen... and, even if they DO play out in the way some have foreseen, there will still be a lot of things happening that are entertaining along the way.

Hmmmm... I'm trying to think of how we can get Ansom, Jillian, Parson, Wanda, Vinnie, Sizemore, Bogroll, and the tiny remaining forces of Gobwin knob allied against Stanley and the rest of the world. That would be nifty, in my humble estimation.

If Stanley has a big group of knights sitting around, why hasn't he used them earlier on? He now seems to believe they'll prove usefull, but would it not have been a good idea to tell Parson about the knights? Or is it because, possibly, using the knights has some kind of consequence?

God that was a great comic strip...now I am really praying we stick in GK for a few more to hammer out this confrontation before returning to Ansom, Jillian, and Vinny.

Where does Stanley think he is going with KISS by the way? I know that Gobwin Knob is not yet encircled, but this isn't like running off with his dwagons (unless he mounts KISS) there is a high chance the Archons and Ansom's aerial force could track down and destroy Stanley if he leaves on foot...foolamancer notwithstanding I suppose. Anyway, this should all be very interesting...and you KNOW when Wanda breaks out of her funk she's going to want blood!

These are his highest level units. It's like a pretorian guard. You don't risk them all at the same time unless you really have to. I'd expect them to be Stanley's last stand, after the outer wall and the citadel were breached. I still don't understand what Stanley's up to (I have some guesses but...)

Probably limited mobility. Also as an Elite Guard their purpose is really more in line with guarding Stanley than going out and fighting battles.
