Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
Frelling annoying one at that. It used to be enough for the reader just to be able to pick out a non-native speaker's cadence and apply it to the relevance of the post to the topic at hand. Sure, on occasion you'd also condemn a child who didn't care about adding to the topic at hand but just wanted to post, but no great loss if you ask me. Now with parroting, the forum reader will also have to have a memory for what has been spoken before. Just imagine if one of them gets hold of one of our droning RB time loop conversation posts. Either we will be forever spammed or forever rid of that conversation. Which will we choose?

The spam bots are getting belligerent.

Even a spambot hates spambots. What is the world coming to? Can't we all just get along? Spambots are people too.

So, we were getting fit for The Hobbit and my head has a circumfrence of 2 feet. As does Gandalf's. According to the Costume Department, we have the biggest heads that they've ever had.
I have a big head.
Man, the theatre is fun.

Dear lord, you're as big-headed as I am.
It is that. On the subiect of which, NUGSS auditions good. I get much less nervous about them, because I'm much more used to them.
However, due to various people not turning up, apparently they actually don't have enough women to cast the show. Given the number of women in the society, this is pretty ridiculous.
As our director said, the only other option is men in frocks, and the scary thing about that is how many of them would iump at the opportunity."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
According to my commercially produced hat pattern, which unlike most sewing pattern sizing* still seems to correspond with "real world" sizing, a 23" head is both a "large" and the largest size they offer. Pffft.
*There's a very effective argument that sewing pattern sizing is actually a measure of one's shoulder size. When's the last time you took any measure near your shoulders? Yep, thought so.
. . .that is pretty smart though.

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
What? Shoulder size?
Like the circumference or width of someone with their arms flat against their sides at the shoulder?
This feels like I'm more confused than I should be by this term.

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
Use Amazon's "Look Inside" feature to read the First Pages of Fitting Finesse, which explains it. . .and better than I was about to do, because I thought it corresponded at a different point on the ruler. I'm using a pattern two sizes too large for the front shoulder. Whoopsie. (If you're sewing, take the front AND the back shoulder measurement. For example, with my shoulders sitting so far forward, I should cut a size larger in the back to cover all of that curve. A "forward shoulder" is the joint itself further towards the front than your earlobe.)
