Just downloaded the 1.4 patch, if only because of the creation kit and the nexus mod manager being 1.4 friendly.

It seems to make load screens last longer, on the other hand no longer do I get the minor lagging moments when traversing the over world.

Is there a way to use the CK to decorate my home but just on one save file?

Kinda. When you create or change something you save it as an .esp and then when you start the game you open the data manager (forgot the name but it's in the pop up thingy that comes when you try to start the game) and there you can select which .esp you want to load. So you can edit and save it and then just select and deselect it when you start the game and intend to or do not intend play that save.

It's kinda of a bother if you switch between saves a lot in one session but if you just play that save that session then it's just 2 or 3 extra clicks before starting the game.

So apparently I screwed up somewhere with my installation of the Nexus Mod manager. I have the game properly installed in the Steam folder and everything, but the mods aren't working. I don't know if my settings in the NMM are set properly, where are they supposed to lead to?

Do the mods require the script extender?

The question was asked and not answered so: Yes, the Destruction scaling problems are present across most difficulty levels. So unless you're on Novice, you'll eventually find you just can't do enough damage quickly enough to kill enemies before they kill you. I've hit 27 and I'm starting to find issues with being able to actually kill people.

Of course getting one shotted by a Draugr Death Overlord through Ironflesh and Dual cast Steadfast ward is no longer funny in the slightest.

The fact that I have precisely 110 hit points might have something to do with that though...

But this is on adept (default) difficulty.

That said, Balanced Magic much improves the ability to defeat foes, while also improving the ability to throw magic without exploiting cost reduction. At 535 Magicka, I have the ability to pitch two dual-cast Midas Meteors. Plus a single cast spare. This is awesome.

I also have a mod, which overwrites the change from Balanced Magic giving me a 3x effectiveness on my dual casts, instead of 2.2(vanilla), or 2.4 (Balanced). Still not completely effective, but that's why I use the -Flesh spells.

Alright. So, I need to find a place to get Adept Destruction Spells. Where I can get some?

As for the Empire vs Stormcloaks: I really don't care about their petty conflicts. I have no reason to join either of them. The Empire tried to cut off my head, but that was from some execute happy lieutenant and you get one of those in every army. Besides, an Empire guy saved me in the beginning. When I went to windhelm, I didn't like their "You're either with us or against us," attitude. There are some people who really don't want to fight either for the sake of their families. If you go about threatening them, you're no better than the so called "Evil Empire".

So really, screw their petty war. My war is against the Dragons.

Destruction casting is viable. You need the impact perk for it to work and heavy enchanting to get those spell costs down. Stuff will die slower and slower as you level. However I had little trouble killing stuff at level 35ish where I finished the main quest line as well as some of the guilds.

The other builds just get stronger and stronger as their damage scales better. In fact it kinda gets boring when you are 1hand/stealth build where you can easily sneak up on every humanoid and one shot it. The stronger stuff just needs shield bashes after every power attack.

Agreed; it felt wrong, somehow, to be able to two-shot giants (and three-shot mammoths) at level 38 with a bound bow.

Pray at a shrine, any shrine at all works.
At the heart of all beauty lies something inhuman, and these hills, the softness of the sky, the outline of the trees at this very minute lose the illusory meaning with which we clothed them, henceforth more remote than a lost paradise.

Drink a potion of Cure Disease. They're pretty cheap and available at most alchemist shops, or you can craft them yourself if you feel like it and have the ingredients.

Considering that we just got the creation kit which allows us to DO all those things, I expect everything we just saw to be a reality someday. Either Bethesda or modders will do SOMETHING about everything we just saw.

Mod idea: Giant Mudcrabs have invaded Skyrim! You must capture one of their young, and raise it to fight off all the other Giant Mudcrabs! Only then will you be the true Pokemon Dragonborn master!

...In more sane news, I've gotten some good progress done on the rough outline of my dungeon. So far, I've got a nice ice cave area with twisty passages and huge ice pillars, a short mine area, and a giant volcano shaft that you need to descend down via rickety scaffolding. Next will come some ancient nordic ruins (Older than that!), a giant corpse arena, and finally an epic boss battle in an undecided location. (I have to look around and see what kinds of areas I can make)

Once I get the rough stuff done, I'll upload it and test out the flow of the thing. Then, I'll start adding combat encounters, which will probably require some terrain changes to make for interesting battles. And only then, when that's done, will I bother prettying up the area with all sorts of clutter.

I just did the last part of the quest to reforge the Gaulders amulet (Or how do you spell it). MY GOD THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!! Having to fight the ghost versions of every brother you killed one by one, but them being stronger this time was increadibly awesome. Being only level 24, I had to use every kind of resource I had access to, including lots of potions, and scrolls. SCROLLS! I have never had to use my scroll collection before! And then when the father killed them all at the end and forge the amulet for you, my god I just wanted to push a "Kneel" button and say, "Thank you my lord." Because I was so in the role play mood by that point.
