ASSASSINS V: The Rings of Power

It is thirty years after the last Assassins game. There have been reported sightings of the former Grand Inquisitor, Firemeier.

The Tower of Inquisition had been torn down. The people of Aemoh had tried hard to forget those terrible nights, so long ago. And now he was rumored to have returned. There was a deathly unease hanging over the people of Aemoh.

Queen Trixie did her best to investigate the rumors, and discover the truth of the matter. But to no avail. Her most loyal guard, the Brotherhood of Thufir, found nothing.

Then a new rumor began to spring up. A rumor that not only had Firemeier trained new assassins, but that he'd found the mythical Rings of Power to suppliment them.

After two months of finding nothing, Queen Trixie made a happy announcement. People of Aemoh, I am pleased to announce that the rumors of Firemeier's return are just that, rumors.

But even as she says this, one of the Brothers of Thufir steps up behind her, and slits her throat. The people are appalled further, when he lifts her up, and leaps from the balcony to assure both their deaths.

Again, the Assassins have returned.

25% majority rule: Votes are done in red text. Once a 25% majority has been reached, rounded down, whoever has the most votes after 48 hours is removed from the game. If no 25% majority is reached, the mob cannot gather sufficient numbers to lynch anyone.

Tie Votes: I liked the tie votes rule from Convoy V so much, I've decided to try it again. Tie Votes result in No Lynch.

Striking Through Votes: Please strike out old votes, when changing to another. This helps out the narrators when counting the votes. When I tally the votes, if you do not do this, I will count your first vote.

Autolynches: We will be autolynching players only if they do not point for 3 days straight. Of course, if you let me know that you will be gone for more than a week, we will give you a pass.

Helgraf's Scry Interference: If two characters with a scry ability look at the same player, both will get "Interference" as a result.

FC's Rule of Narrator Invocation: If you claim that the Narrator made a mistake, and the Narrator is asked about it, the Narrator will answer honestly. So don't use the Narrator's name in vain.

Assassins- There will be one Assassin for every five players. Except, at the beginning of the game, only two Assassins are active. There is only 1 night kill, per night.

You are the beginning Assassins. Your job is to kill the Royal Guards and take the throne for Grand Inquisitor Firemeier.

After an Assassin is killed, one of the remaining sleepers is PMd, letting him/her know that she is in fact an Assassin.

The Assassins will all be picked at the beginning of the game. But some will be sleeper Assassins. Not knowing what they are until one of the active Assassins dies.

If a sleeper Assassin dies, he will be PMd letting him know that he was a sleeper. But it will not be mentioned to the players.

If, the Assassins attempt to kill a sleeper Assassin, the Assassins lose the night kill, and it is announced that a sleeper has awakened.

If there is more than two assassins awake at any one time, then another is not awakened until...

a) He's targeted at night.
b) All but one assassin is lynched during the day.

Sleepers scry as villagers, until woken.

Murska (Beast)- Once again the Master Assassin, Murska stalks his prey. Will this vengeful spirit ever be laid to rest? Or must the royalty always fear his return?

You are Murska the Beast, Spirit of Vengeance, eternally seeking those who have wronged you, even though they are long dead themselves.

If lynched, you may take one of your killers with you into the afterlife.

You start alone in this world. You have no Night Action, until you are put in contact with the other Assassins.

1) If an Assassin or any Sleepers are part of the group who lynches him during the day, they will not die from his power.

2) If an Assassin tries to kill him during the night, they will learn his role, just as if he was a Sleeper.

Rings of Power

There will be a # of rings of Power, depending on the number of players.

Each Ring of Power has limited power, and starts with half of the Assassins/Sleepers. If a Sleeper is wearing one, they won't know it until awakened.

When a Sleeper is killed, the ring will be lost until an awakened Assassin dies. This ring will be randomly found by anyone still in the game, with a small chance of being lost forever.

When an awakened Assassin dies, and he wore a ring, the ring will be randomly given to one of those who killed the Assassin.

1. Golden Ring of Thalleus the Brazen: During the game, this ring allows its wearer to absorb up to four single attacks (total, not per day). During the day, and only once per game, he can then turn the Rings stored power back upon any one player of his choice.
2. Crystal Ring of Natalia the Shy: This rings passive power allows the bearer to hear a tone when she or he's about to attack someone within his own guild (a sleeper Assassin). The wearer can then target a second player the same night. (This is only once per game.)
3. Emerald Ring of Calli the Dragonrider: Day-Baner ability. May be activated for up to three days (max), before shutting down. The number of days activated = the number of days the ring needs to recharge. Once the player has been attacked, and baned, the ring disappears.

It depends on how many players I get for this. They will mostly be one-time use items.

Example ideas: Day bane, Beast, Extra Night Kill, Scry, Total vote counts as double, Tie-Breaker vote.

I may think of some other ideas before the game starts. I promise to list the rings of power during the Game Start post.
