Thought I'd kick it off again


Giant in the Playground Meet-up!

The Date: Saturday the 2nd of August.

Location: The Oak tree Pub, Rosehill Roundabout, Lickey End, Rednal, Birmingham, West Midlands, B45 8UX.

Time: 12:00 until last orders, around 11:00. So that's 11 hours of potential good times.

There will be a variety of games to play, board games, role playing games and perhaps even a card game or two.

There will be a buffet. A couple of weeks before the meet-up we’ll do a head count to help order the correct food quantity.

You know what's been puzzling me recently? When people say "Everyone Welcome" is sounds really good. But when people say "Anyone Welcome" it sounds really bad. Yet, anyone is a subset of everyone.

I'll try my level best to get too at least one day of this, as I missed the last one. I'm going to Paris somewhere around that time thoughy, so won't know for a while.

I work at Aston Uni (Birmingham), I may be able to get them to give me a straight answer on whether we could have a room this time, especially as it would be out of term time.

Also I got a couple of games (older RPG type, one funny one serious) that might be of interest so I don't mind GMing.

I got Dragon Warriors (Steve Jackson & Oliver Stone) and Monster Horror Show (heh slapstick. Think Dire Grannies, Evil Zits and GM pranks galore).

Two points: Dark Dork had BETTER be running another of his excellent games (let's hope I don't die this time!) and can we have a meet down south some time please? Last I heard the plane was as cheap as the train and I'm right next to Southampton airport and happy to ferry people around.

Birmingham is down south. As far as England goes, anything south of Leeds is south.... as far as the UK goes, to meetup midway, we should be somewhere between Newcastle and Glasgow!

Birmingham is too far south for me to be fair, but I'm still doing it... I suppose at a push we could go to somewhere like Cambridge, but I'm not sure. I would quite like a place that has a smallish games store that might be willing to sell some wares.
