Setting a fire without a physical form is possible, but much easier with a body. Too bad Mainframe is so literal that it hasn't realized that any method of destruction would suffice. It would find it much easier to simply turn off the cooling fan and overheat the computer circuits at each cloning tank.

Magtok isn't trying to be rude, he's simply got so many thoughts juggling about in his head, wondering how and when to explain all of this to Elly, concerns as to how much, if any of Happy is still in that shell he met a moment ago, whether Rein will prove to be a bigger issue than he seems, fears of Cynthia being retributively being eaten alive by zombies who don't worry where they step, and much more.

Assuming Magtok sent a signal to Mainframebot offscreen (presumably giving it the same story about everything being a simulation), Mainframebot will arrive. It begins dismantling the cloning chambers and carrying the parts to the boiler room. Unsurprisingly, it finds plenty of flammable materials about the cave to use as accellerant.

Once the fire is going and Mainframe is satisfied that it has sealed off the boiler room from venting into the Aux, it begins working on repairs to weaponry.

Somewhere, it doesn't matter where, really, a portal opens. It could be anywhere you look it to be, but it does. So anyone might see it! A gaping, gasping mouth, huge, toothed, flaming, spewing out hordes of teeny-tiny little fiery imps, each shrieking and stumbling to get out and invade the Nexus as fast as they can, each desperate to get towards the "real world".

And they're hungry. The first gaggle swarm onto a nearby signpost, devouring it in short, sharp, fire-fuelled gulps, reducing it to cinders and dinner, while behind 'em, swarms start to devour the cobbled roads.

And the people on them...

Decker, about 7 feet tall in her goat headed cloven footed devil form, is drawn to the area by the hell aura of it all. {diabolic} "Hey... guys? You're early. The party isn't scheduled until the players involved get tired of hunting demon cultists for a few weeks. Knock it off and go back home!" {/diabolic}

If the imps come from her hell, the one where The Iron Queen Persephone does endless battle against the Storm Demoness Lilith, they might recognize her as the daughter of a high ranking devil.

If they come from a different hell... they might recognize her as dinner.

With shrills of excitement and glee, the myriad imps attempt to swarm Decker - while still getting as far from their portal as they physically can.

The ones that aren't Seren or Plum walk away.
"Going to begin things now."
Like prepare a funeral for that one person left here, be represented on the mainland, and if they can deal with how creepy it is, examine those missiles.

Arlem drifts out of a flower shop, smiles ever so slightly at the weather, and -wait, there's some sort of fire-portal thing in the sky.
Now that he thinks of it, maybe he should help that person-thing being attacked by tiny fire-imps down the road.
But then again, it can probably handle things itself. Best to keep walking, wait for the moment, and have his knife and a bit of water ready just in case.

Val takes a deep breath, running her hand through her hair, and ponders what to do next, not quite sure. Aside from trying to figure out how to go about thawing the unfortunate chap in the other tube, anyway.

And a tricky thing that is. Machine's ruined, and they need him to warm up fast, and then restart all his vital organs.
So Seren gets out his phone and calls Tom to see if he can handle that part. "...uh-huh. Yeah, we'll keep her away. You can? That's great. Just put the travel expenses on the government account. See you tomorrow; bye!" Phone clicks shut.

"We didn't expect to find someone alive." Plum comments, watching the Lt.

[Woods]

A young man runs through the woods grinning merrily as though he wasn't being chased by several armed thugs. But at this moment this isn't the case, for he is being chased and the men seem angry.

He wears a large brimmed hat with a green feather sticking out of it. He seems to be enjoying the chase but the men get closer and closer, their longer legs closing the distance. But then he comes to some downed logs from the storm that passed recently. He leaps over them nimbly but the larger men have trouble and trip over it. And then as they try and follow him down a steep and rocky slope they trip and fall as he gets farther and farther away.

And when his lead is enough where he is just out of sight he clambers up a tree grinning as he watches the men run past oblivious to the fact that they are no longer chasing anyone but their own imagination.

The boy giggles when they are out of earshot and leans back on the tree branch relaxing for a bit. He wonders what he is going to do next.

Val watches the phone call with moderate interest, then nods to Plum. "It is a complication. But it's likely a good thing we found them, otherwise who knows how long it might have been before somebody stumbled across them..."

"Maybe never." Plum says, frowning. That would have been so sad.
"But we did, so no sense worrying." Back to a smile.

Val nods, and returns the smile. "Be it fate, time, or the acts of deities, we're here and we found them. Hopefully we'll be able to find a way back to their time for them, too."
She doesn't add that such a course would likely allow her to return home, as well...since she's no longer so sure she wants to head home from here.

[Recaiden]

"Hopefully. We thought 'I'," Plum stumbles over the now unfamiliar turn of phrase, "could get a message sent back, something about how we got to our world, and tuning it. Maybe we can send them back the same way?"

Seren keeps studying the malfunctioning hibernation chamber.

The malfunctioning hibernation chamber appears to have the freezer working fine, but the bits that keep the mind from shutting down/going insane/whoknowswhat, seem to have, well, shut down.


"You can do that?" Val asks, curious. "That would work, I think...and would be pretty neat..."

[Recaiden]

Well, it should be as simple as waking them, then, and maybe a bit of electricity and heat.
"We're told it can be done, anyway." Plum shrugs.

Val's growing enthuiasm just as quickly deflates.
"It was a good idea, though."

What did she expect? Plum is a historian, not a trans-dimensional physicist.

"Well, I'm sure we'll figure it out, however it works," Val says, nodding firmly. "...hm. I wonder..."

"I was wondering if the nuclear warheads could be converted to somehow provide power for the portals. Swords into plowshares, and all that." Val sighs. "We probably don't have the equipment for that, though."

[Recaiden]

"Welll....yeah. We could probably do that now, reassembling all our magics. In a few hours." But the very idea is clearly disturbing to them. And if a mistake were made...

Indeed. While there likey wouldn't be an island-shattering ka-boom, radiation poisioning is a nasty way to go...

"Probably better just to get rid of them," Val says, noticing the nervous looks.

"Yes." Six nod, and Plum sits in a corner to sleep while they wait.

Assuming the AuxCave is still as unprotected from divine magic as it was last time I checked, then Happy, eyes blazing with purple fire, manifests within there, dropping the bones of George about the area as she appears, as if from a fog.
