Re: Random Banter #117
Our day starts at 8:10. First class is from 8:15 to 9:15. Second from 9:20 to 10:50. Third from 11:00 to 13:00, but that's broken up into four half-hour lunch shifts of which you will have one. Fourth from 13:10 to 14:50. School's out at 14:50.
Yeah, our schedules are different.High School Harem Comedy, my original game system!

Re: Random Banter #117
These're good headphones. Making me virtually deaf, but silent to the rest of the world.
I made the mistake of listening to something though with a high falsetto in it though. Pain.
I hate math, but I'm tutoring my brother in it. I kid you not when I say he's learnt more in just over an hour with me than with his teacher (algebra is what we're doing at the moment) has all year.
And I failed math! By my standards at least. Stupid B. And I haven't done any GCSE - wise for two years.
I thank my spongy memory. Prolly.

Re: Random Banter #117
My daily schedule is this:
Registration: 9:00
Period 1: 9:10
Period 2: 10:10
Break: 11:10
Period 3: 11:25
Period 4: 12:25
Lunch: 1:25
Registration: 2:15
Period 5: 2:25
Finish: 3:25
On tutorial days periods 1 to 4 are shortened by 10 minutes and we have a 40 minute tutorial session after morning registration.
Sixth form only have one registration per week and we don't do tutorial. This makes it really confusing when we appear for a lesson and there are a bunch of kids in the room. Sixth form can also go home whenever they don't have a lesson - I have eight lessons a week.

Kaelaroth is angry.
Kaelaroth is in love. That isn't necessarily totally why she's angry, but it's partly it.
Kaelaroth would now like to point out that this is yet another huge crush, and though it isn't the only hormone wrangler she's got going one, right now, it's the biggest she's ever had.
Kaelaroth thought that Facebook style of posting might make herself feel innovative, but, no. She still feels creatively dry.

Re: Random Banter #117
@Fred: Did I say that Math Teacher was a bad one? No. Just that I taught Little Brother a lot, in an easily understood way quickly.
This could mean many things:
1) Little Brother may not be a good student
2) I'm excellent at math
3) I'm a very good teacher when it comes to explaining things
4) The topic may have been easy
5) Thus the teaching methods at the school may be bad
6) A bad teacher
I never said that teacher was bad.
@Dihan: What an annoying schedule. If you went to a college you'd have a one hour tutorial every week and lessons of varying length.
My college has lesson slots, not actual lessons and they go:
First: 9:15 - 10:25
Break
Second: 10:50 - 12:10
Third/AS/ND tutorial: 12:15 - 13:05
Fourth/A2/2nd year ND etc tutorial: 13:10 - 14:10
Fifth: 14:15 - 15:10
Final: 15:15 - 16:10
So I can have a 60 minute lesson second or a one hour twenty lesson fourth. ND students have lessons two hours long each. Same with BTECs and Vocational courses.
Lunch takes place whenever you have a free, you can go home when you have no lessons.
I've never had a mobile.

Re: Random Banter #117
Never had one. Don't really intend to get one. There's no real point. I know where I am and mum and dad know that if I'll be home late I'll let them know.
I've not been late yet.
Yah.
I can read mate.
And do they really close that early? College stuff doesn't close until eight pm or later in the case of a couple of refectories and one library.

Re: Random Banter #117
Yeah, sorry, still stating the obvious here, I tend to do that.
Also, yes, they close that early. The school closes at 4pm to make way for the community centre. Unless there is a parents' evening on or something. Although there isn't much in the library at school, except for the large collection of classic books there (Les Miserables, The Illiad, Little Women, all arrayed in a shelf near where people put their bags, so people never see them. It's shameful, books like those need to be on display, not hidden behind mountains of bags.)
I just have a mobile for emergencies, I don't use it for anything else (except for playing darts)This avatar pierces the heavens and is by Miss Nobody!SpoilerOriginally Posted by Anuan

Re: Random Banter #117
Getting a mobile phone proved to be quite essential once I moved out.
I keep it cheap by not getting a bunch of extra services. It texts and it calls, that's it.
Beats having a static phone at home, at least.

Re: Random Banter #117
My mobile phone plan costs $0/mo plus call costs. That's a post-pay plan (with itemised billing), not pre-paid. It originally cost me $49.95 to buy the sim card with $50 worth of non-expiring free calls. For over a year they sent me bills saying that I was in credit. Now they won't send a bill unless it is over $10 or three months have passed. I usually get a bill every three months for around $10.
The plan I am on is grandfathered, meaning that it is no longer available and I only have it still by virtue that I've never left the plan.

Re: Random Banter #117
I have a mobile phone. It's old, battered, doesn't do anything but make phone calls and I don't even know what the number for it is--there's no point leaving it in case someone calls me, because the battery has the life expectancy of a mustard-coated fly at a frog spawning convention.

I am easily distracted by gadgetry, so if I could afford it I likely would put some useless junk on my phone.
Except for Bluetooth, I'm not THAT big a jerk.

Re: Random Banter #117
It's not as bad as when I was trying to eat my lunch and my mum started reading an article in the newspaper.
Basically, some kids had gone to a local primary school, used the veranda canopy as a trampoline, broke into the Wendy House and left used condoms and human excrement in it. They then proceeded to uproot about 30 newly planted trees.
I couldn't eat after that.

Hey, I know I'm acting out of character here, being overprotective like that. But really, you don't want her acting like me when I was her age!
