Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
Nope. Only two in the family, and I was the small, annoying one. :smallsmug:
However I was also cute (Not at the same time as being annoying)
Never played Civ. And when I've played games until so late it's early, I've generally noticed myself doing it.
I'm on a rampage!
You question Iibar and Curly's *boogie*ing?
HERETIC! FETCH THE LYNCH-MOB!

And in our house the regretting is always of having eaten too much chocolate, and not being done by me.
ION: We finally ran through Ruddigore. Allowing for chorus issues, it's going to be good! Though Dame Hannah somehow managed to break the sword during the Melodrame."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'

I'm counting down to Thanksgiving. Sooo close! I love me a nice big turkey, though everyone knows that it's really the stuffing and the pie that steals the show.
Edit: Mostly, I'm counting down to Thanksgiving cause it's the closest holiday to now. Eh, shoot me, the holiday I can't wait for most is the one that is next, at all moments. Unless it's Family Day. I make a point of seeing as little of my family as possible on Family Day *grumbles about politics*

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
I just requested a whole two weeks of holiday leave from work in eary December. Apart from the UKitP meetup the first weekend of my free time, I have nothing planned.
I might just stay at home and not leave the flat for two weeks.
I predict StarCraft and/or CoD:Black Ops overload during those weeks.

I thought it was a NES controller, too.
Meh, just wait a couple of years. by then keyboards will be obsolete. We'll just telepathically tell the computer what to do.
Or else, the computer will tell US what to do.

The website I was reading got hacked within two clicks of a link. Son of a. . .
[EDIT: A. Only one of my bookmarked sites is down. B. The proportion of folks hosting their own site, instead of cribbing off of a major service like the blog hosts, is down. C. Took down the entire domain, not just the forum.]Last edited by Quincunx; 2010-09-28 at 10:42 AM.

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
And those are the other two I was looking for.
I've had honest guesses from people today both here at work and on FaceBook giving me answers like Ireland, China (really!), Greece, Sweden, Brazil, Germany, Kenya and India.
At least when I posed the question here at work, a budding argument was swiftly diverted and defused.

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
You know, I don't think this will actually happen. There's something to be said for the manual feel of typing in every word.
Besides, can you imagine how many typographical errors will appear on the first stream-consciousness word processor?
I was thinking "You can play ten games at once", actually. Which would be pretty cool if you can pull it off.
NEW TOPIC: Name ten games that, if you could play all at once, you would. GO!

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
Oh hells yes!
Got a mostly-finalised lecture list today.
I have one thing to say:
A four week lecture series on I. R. R. Tolkien is being run this term.
Hell.
Yes.
:extremelylargesmug:
There's other stuff offered too like Introducing the English Bible; Aspects of Medieval Literary Theory; The Economies of Middle English Literature; Learn Old Norse in Eight Weeks; about a dozen Shakespeare classes and -
One of my favourite lectures is running a lectures on The Representation of the Supernatural in Early Modern Drama.
!!
D:
:D
The downside is that it's technically an Mst class.
Should I see if I can sneak in?
But there's one lecture series I'm definitely going to attend.
I. R. R. Tolkien.
You may now be envious.
Bathatar!
Squid bones are lies.

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
<- Envy mode activated.
D: Ack...all I have to look forward to this week is about 160 pages of long, drawn-out text on Qualitative Interviews. And then writing about the bits in-between.
On the positive side though, for my birthday today I hung out in a nice little deli-type luncheon place with my dad. They make nice sandwiches full of delicious meats and stuff. =3 Though they only had The New York Post for reading, which kind of sucked. <.<; Too much sensationalism, not enough news.
AND there's a new book store in town for used books. In it, I saw my absolute favorite children's book, "The Monster At The End Of This Book". Used to read that as a kid aaaaall the time. It's just such a fun little book. =3
If you could do that AND be effective in each game, I would bow down to your gaming prowess, sir.
For my part, I'd probably pick:
Cave Story
Super Mario Bros 3.
Kirby's Adventure
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Metroid Fusion
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Megaman 2
Ristar
Super Smash Bros. (Any)
Minecraft (Recent Bias)

Re: Archonic's Archaic Acronymical Antidisestablishmentarianism Random banter 148
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I don't know that book.... I used to read a book about a puppy who always arrived later at home than his brothers. The brothers arrived late and were sent to bed with no dinner, but he got home later and snuck into the kitchen to eat.
Until one day..... SPOILER ALERT! His brothers arrived home early and ate everything. Poor puppy.
