Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
There was one last Villain, and he was rather upset. Mewtwo floated among the few remaining heroes, glaring at their sleeping forms with malice.
They all will suffer. All of them.
"Not unless we have something to say about it"
Mewtwo spun around and saw Oradow standing ready in a fighting pose.
Oh, so you think you can take me? How amusing.
"I can beat you."
Ah, but have you taken into consideration who's standing behind you?
"Do you expect me to fall for that? You're the last one left."
That is correct. But one of us did something before he was KO'd...
Oradow turned around and saw the familiar figure of Mario, but he looked different, and carried a slimy looking paintbrush.
Shadow Mario leaped at Oradow, and the two started fighting while Mewtwo looked on with amusement. After a few minutes of fighting he starting charging up a large Shadow Ball and blasting both of the combatants away.
Two down this night. Good night's work.
"But you forgot something."
Oh? More sheep to the slaughter?
"Yes, but first a riddle for you. What's a Captain's favorite drink?"
Fine. Amuse me before I destroy you.
"FALCON PUNCH!"
---
And that was it. Master Hand came for the resulting trophy, and then the sun rose and the party started.
Summary:
SpoilerOradow was KO'd by the Villains. He was on team Nintendo
Kyouhen was fatally corrupted. He was on Team Mario
Mustiado was Falcon Punch'd. He was Mewtwo
It is now...
GAME SET!
This game's winner is...
The Heroes and Banjo-Kazooie
With the final Villain gone, the disguises forced upon everyone faded away, and they were seen in truth. So few of them were left... Captain Falcon was still there of course, and Kirby next to him. Link strode up to them with Marth close behind. They nodded and set out in search for the trophy hoard. Quicky the one remaining Ice Climber joined the search with Jigglypuff close behind.
It took some searching, but they eventually found it. Soon enough, everyone was revived, couples and friends reunited, and partners found. Soon a grand party was started again (though with an actual watch this time). Everyone related their own story of this game's events and how they prevailed. But everyone was a bit wary, not sure if any new Villains would turn up unannounced...

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
Okay, so NOW you all can finally believe that I was Sonic as I said, right?
Funny how the people I thought were villains turned out to be such. And I was so careful to not appear as too eager to help them just in case they actually were villagers...

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
I would have had the same stance regardless. You were breaking the game, dude. I probably would have been lynched anyway, but I convinced Happy that a win like that wasn't worth having, and Andre independently had the same thought.
Breaking the game = bad.
That being said, the villains gave this a helluva try, all things considered. We had a great comeback to get as far as we did. Good job, Team Evil!

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
Hm. I never broke the game, since I never picked a side other than my own.
Twobit sent the villager network my sheet with all it's information instantly after I died, though, but the villagers had networked through DD pretty well by then anyway so all they got was some neutral names, mostly.
I promised Phantomfox not to break the game by helping either side and I would've kept that promise. The wolves never risked talking to me, so I couldn't help them with a couple names from the network, but that wasn't my fault in the slighest.

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
Survey time!
1) Did you have fun?
2) Did you enjoy your role?
3) Would you play again?
4) Would you recommend this game to a friend?
5) Were the roles balanced?
6) Any suggestions on what to change/improve?
7) Was the Story Fluff entertaining?
8) Did the Narrators do a good job?
After talking with some people, I'm buffing Ike to having Counter be worth -2 points, and perhaps tone down Ganondorf's cooldown a tad. It seemed DK worked pretty well. The Villains didn't scry much, in fear of Krystal finding them out, so is she in need of a nerf?Avatar by Glasswhistle

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
1: Ayup, for the time I was in. My kind of scheming, along with fun RP.
2: Well, 'survival' as win condition isn't that fun but I made up my own win condition and played towards that, so it was all good.
3: Of course.
4: Yup.
5: There are so many factors it's hard to say, but I'd guess they were.
6: Nothing much, unless you wish to make each neutral a specific win condition.
7: Yeah, I have to admit I didn't read much after I died but up until that it was nice.
8: Yeah, some delays aside, it was great.

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
1) Did you have fun? Yes!
2) Did you enjoy your role? It was kinda annoying that I disguised myself as Snake and had him confirmed in the neutral network thirty seconds later. Also, where am I on the cast?
3) Would you play again? Probably, depends on if I have time.
4) Would you recommend this game to a friend? Sure.
5) Were the roles balanced? Not a clue.
6) Any suggestions on what to change/improve? Maybe allow the Covenant Elite to change his disguise? Would make things more interesting.
7) Was the Story Fluff entertaining? Yep.
8) Did the Narrators do a good job? Of course!
Just out of curiosity, how'd you guys get me? I assume it was the PM, but still, Dirk literally claimed an important role! Why'd you guys assume I was evil when I hit him?Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
1-4) Yes
5) No idea
7) I didn't know most of the characters, so I probably missed a lot
8) Not very punctual with updates, but otherwise good.
6) Suggestions:
- Ban in-thread role-claims completely. With a day 1 mason claim, the villains were pretty screwed.
- Night phases don't need to be 48 hours. Yeah, there are a lot of actions, but each player only has to keep up with their own.
- This may be a minority opinion, but I think the game would have been more fun with a smaller player base. Games with 40+ players tend to go on forever.

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
I wish to point out that my kills were directed by the masons, and funnily enough, by Mario, for most of the game(ie, all but my first kill).
Onto the survey...
Survey time!
1) Did you have fun? Ayup.
2) Did you enjoy your role? Ayup.
3) Would you play again? Ayup.
4) Would you recommend this game to a friend? If I had any, sure.
5) Were the roles balanced? Seemed ok to me. But I'm not a good judge of balance, though.
6) Any suggestions on what to change/improve? I'm also in favor of giving the neutrals a real win condition. Survival as win condition is kinda... meh. I've no idea what it could be though.
7) Was the Story Fluff entertaining? Ayup.
8) Did the Narrators do a good job? Ayup.
All in all, I had fun. Shame I killed so many innocents, but thems the breaks

Remember the bandwagon against you on pondshadow's lynch day? You and Mustiado were already high on the suspect list by then, partially thanks to me.

1) Did you have fun? most of the time.
2) Did you enjoy your role? At the beginning the neutral network was fun, then it got slaughtered. I was bored for a while, being certain to win as long as you stay away from the autolynch can do that. Then the good guys started trusting me, and due to my role I was immediately able to make it worth the risk. Honestly, I think being neutral helped me to be more useful to the good guys than I ever have been before. It also helps that I was the stars of two of my favorite games.
3) Would you play again? Certainly!
4) Would you recommend this game to a friend? Sure.
5) Were the roles balanced? being a neutral with an extra life almost assured me victory. Other than that, no clue.
6) Any suggestions on what to change/improve? no
7) Was the Story Fluff entertaining? Yes.

Re: Universal Smash Bros 3: Heroes' resurgance!
I'd like to give the Neutrals individual win conditions too, but it's a lot of work. I'll see what I can do.
I know 'proper' sized games are more easily manageable, but I'm tempted to add MORE roles. Heh heh. The massive size of this is part of it's charm. Perhaps I could increase the rate of play by accelerating the body count.Avatar by Glasswhistle
