The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
Welcome to The Stick Awards II: Second Edition!
The Stick Awards are handed out to the best strips of all time as chosen by our fellow Playgrounders.
This week we are covering the comic strips 21 through 30.
For full details about the Stick Awards, please check out the main thread here.
To read more about the original Stick Awards, created by Nazzo, the 102nd, please read his thread here.
To vote in this thread, simply state which comic of the ten listed is your favorite. Bolding the number of the comic (Like this) helps it stand out.
Voting for this week will close on June 8th, 4am EDT. Any votes made after that will NOT count toward the totals.
Last week, it was 13 Plot, Ahoy! which was the one who outlasted the rest. Which will it be this week? Only you can decide that.
Ten strips enter, but only one can emerge the winner of....

Some are meh.
Some are funny (see 30)
Some are important (I was really going to vote for the first appearance of MitD)
But 25 is priceless.Do I contradict myself?

I'll concur with 25. "I'm invisible" is fairly priceless, and there are a couple of lovely touches that really make that final panel work -- Vaarsuvius covering zir eyes, and Elan holding his cloak as he runs around.

I love that the nameless random encounters were able to show some agency aside from falling on the swords of the PCs.
"And why not arm this deadly but well-hidden booby trap, goblin friend."
"Done! Now let us flee."
EDIT: Also, the nice little touch of what part the adventurers get angry at Durkon. Roy is mad once the goblins mention recouping the expenses incurred by the expedition, Vaarsuvius is mad once the goblins destroy the powerful magical object, and Belkar is mad once the goblins flee, denying him the chance to harvest their organs.Last edited by oppyu; 2013-06-01 at 04:14 AM.

#25: Armor Begone. The first strip to make me actually laugh out loud, if I'm not mistaken. Still does, really. "How I wish that were true." "Please cast Blindness on me."
I won a thread. Am I pathetic to list that in my signture? Yes. Of course I am.

22. I love beat panels, and here they were just marvelous.

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
This batch was actually kinda unimpressive for me. I'm going to go with 24, though, just because it's one of my favorite gags so far.

I'm going with 22. I really didn't like the whole "I'm invisible" stuff.

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
Agreed that this is kinda a weak batch, although there are some good gags in there. For me, it's a close call between #24, #27, and #28. But as good as "It's a touch spell" is, I think I'll go with what appears to a frontrunner: #24: Do You Hear What I Hear? for pretty much the same reasons as oppyu.

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
As others have said, a bit of a weak batch, but I'll go with 23, for the introduction of the MitD.

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
This week's contenders are not as good as the first two batches, but there are some classics.
I guess I'll go with 26, with 28 as a close second.

26, for Roy's snark.
"Wow, that is such a dumb idea, I feel dumber just hearing it."
"I would rather poke my eyes out with a burning stick than open them right now."

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
I'll go with 24, myself.
Spoiler
So the song runs on, with shift and change,
Through the years that have no name,
And the late notes soar to a higher range,
But the theme is still the same.
Man's battle-cry and the guns' reply
Blend in with the old, old rhyme
That was traced in the score of the strata marks
While millenniums winked like campfire sparks
Down the winds of unguessed time. -- 4th Stanza, The Bad Lands, Badger Clark

Re: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition (#0021 - #0030)
30, I think. 25 was close, as well as 24.
There aren't really any exclusive or original ideas on TVTropes. That's kind of the point.
