    Butyeah.

My best friend is in the process of badmouthing Sucker Punch too. That movie was not just about the action scenes, just cause YOU were totally zoned out in all the other scenes and thus missed the point...
I should give Hitchhikers Guide a chance, I've just been put-off by reviews and haven't actually read it.

As for Sucker Punch, that just looks ... Trope Overdosed (I think that's what I'd call it)? I don't go to see something unless I know I'm going to like it. Which I often can figure out.

Basically, it has the most beautiful cinematography, wonderfully chosen and used music, the plot held up good enough, better than you'd expect, the writing was actually quite decent, and all the acting was top notch. The characters are all empathic, the villain is sooo easy to hate, the sexuality is played at a constant level, so it just becomes part of the movie, and you don't notice anymore, and the action scenes are, obviously, amazing. BUUUT the true gem scenes of the movie are in the non-action scenes.

I would definitely recommend seeing it.

I've seen like, 10 minutes of the movie. I should read it first though, shouldn't I?

EDIT: HERP A DERP, I was still on Hitch-hiker.

Don't read it, DEFINITELY don't see the movie, the original radio show is MILES better than both.

I listened to the original radio show, but for the second part of it my copy messed up halfway through and I never got to finish

But I love the books, and the original mini-series, and the movie was alright. I'm really not sure what order I'd say to experience it in.

I can see how the last 2 were let downs although in ways So Long and Thanks for all the Fish is one of my favorites in the series. Mostly Harmless while a good book disappointed me after the first 4.

I must be a glutton for punishment though as I intend to return to the gym this afternoon; working out this time should be interesting.

    We can be awesome together!
I also have matchstick arms; though I am stronger than I look (which is excellent for times when physical ninjaing is required).

This is so badass and epic; someone really needs to make a movie or tv series about this!

On a related note, I probably should start running around a bit to get the strength back to my legs. The winter forced me to draw back on the speed a bit for safety reasons, and with a lower speed came a lower required leg strength. I hope the snow and water and sand on the roads will be gone soon so that I can go fast again without having to worry about losing my grip or getting dirt sprayed up on my legs and back.
If your house is amply sized to accommodate, you could do some jogging indoors, or maybe even jogging on the spot :).

How, exactly, would this work? No, wait a minute... *rewatches a few episodes of Scrubs* Yeah, no, I can get behind that, definitely.

I am every movie-maker's/author's best friend. Someone who will only partake of such media in order to enjoy them, so I enjoy them pretty much no matter what. Very few things have I gone to see that I felt didn't live up to expectations, which means I am a terrible reviewer, since I've seen everything mentioned/badmouthed - except for Sucker Punch and the hitchiker's radio show - and loved it all. Oh well.

    Ruination! Utter ruination!

I had a Japanese midterm today. I had a 34.5 out of 35. Which is not going to affect my grade negatively, since it's rounded up. However, I did miss a brush set the teacher promised me if I got a perfect score.

So, I have to study really hard for the final. And maybe remember what kitchen means next time.

Yesterday we played a pretty fun game in our civic class. We were doing it for three hours and managed to play 2 game turns. It was an advanced security politics game where we played five imaginary countries (but not without real life counterparts) and tried to achieve our own goals, which for our country ("C"-something. They were letter-themed) happened to be "not being blown up by terrorists and crumbling nuclear powerplants".

However, it felt a bit stretched when the evil dictatorship ("Bati") and those fighting for the return of the people who were violently massacred and driven to exile from said dictatorship ("The Radiant Blue Road") became best buddies, and when the separatists in the land of the many kinds of people ("Amaso") not just threw down their arms, but actually joined forces with their former enemy, while at the same time we were going to get a nuclear meltdown in turn three while we were hit repeatedly by the aformentioned Radiant Blue Road and struggled to create a stable working economy.

That's.. interesting. The most fun thing we ever did in any of my similar classes involved watching random movies that were barely relevant to the actual course material.

Not just (or even necessarily) water. It's a (commonly water- or alcohol-based) solution that leaves a polymer behind when it dries. It stings a little going on, but otherwise, it's awesome.

I'm going to raise a voice for the non-sticky non-sticky-something-net that prevents bandages from sticking in wounds. These nets are completely awesome too.

But, you know, in some part of the space-timeline, you'd actually consider yourself lucky if you were wearing good work clothes in such an incident.

In some other part, you'd consider yourself lucky for just having a thermos full of piping hot masala chai. I mean, Ötzi probably wouldn't have complained...

Ice mummy is judging my petty middle-class problems! Damn his eyes...

You do have a point though. Better hot spills with good work clothes than naked.

Those would be called Melolin in Sweden, I reckon. They have the antiseptic goo on them as well, don't they? Brilliant stuff.

had my weekly session of being tortured by my team leader tonight (gym session). I have realised that I might need to find extra weights to put on the machines that are in the gym at work for some of the exercises I do.
Mainly the seated row and the leg extensions.
Slightly unnerving to see the weight bars on the machines go up to 20, and you have no problem churning out several sets at those levels.
    Needs further investigating.
