The Cabal Captain is first stripped to remove all weapons and then examined for any cyanide capsules, hidden pouches sealed to the skin, bombs inside the man, anything that would allow him to kill himself.

The he is brought to the palace itself, the dungeons more exactly, where he may be interrogated in peace. The tortuerers are told that if the man dies then they will all immediatly be placed in his position, so they better hope they are careful with him.

Only the Empress, the Lioness , and the Intelligence Minister have access.

The head of Intelligence is in charge of acquiring the information, even if they have to pump him full of "Truth Serum"

The others Cabal memebers are treated much better, and simply questioned intently.

Empress Han stands at the head of a crowd, her words being televised to every station that will take the broadcast. She is still dressed in her simple silk suit but that only seems to magnify the signifigance of the speech.

"Today, I was attacked on a mission to promote peace in the Asian Nations. Before I could even begin, I was fired upon by memebers of the KHA security force. The apparently my Dragon commited high treason by attempting to kill or simply wound Arch Bishop Ali.

Then a Cabal Captain shot that Dragon so we could not question her. I just wanted you, my people, and the world to understand this. Whoever is responsible for these attacks have failed. I will not declare a war on anyone just to fill your bloodlust.

I will use everything in my power to preserve the peace that has already been strained by Emperor Umberto's actions. But, I promise to everyone listening... I will find the people who orchestrated this attack and bring them to justice."

Solaris Broadcast News, a vignette of the broader world reaction.

Look, it's clear that something funny is going on here. China looks like the bad guy here, I think. They fired first, and that recording of that voice was an obvious plant. I mean, if it had been KHA why use a recording from a message that very badly damaged your PR a few weeks ago? It only makes sense if it was someone trying to make them look bad. Like Han.

But if they were planning on starting something like that then why have Han right up there and then start shooting?

But they shot first, and had that whole pack lined up to drop in. Tore up the Conclave.

An accident maybe? Or better yet, Cabal operative. They were on the scene damned fast and shot that girl, right in the face. That's fishy to me.

In the KHA there is a-howling for Chinese blood. The Pack storming the Conclave gets almost as much airtime as the Dragon opening fire on the Archbishop. Several minor church members have attempted to start the canonization process for the Sergeants-at-Arms who died.

In China, there is much howling for KHA blood. The creepy broadcast is held up as evidence, and Kyra's 'pre-emptive' defense of the Empress is lauded. The Cabal is in turn roundly condemmed.

To add fuel to the flames Australian ministers announce that they have copies of a planned KHA invasion on their territory from two seperate sources. Not only that, but they've sattalite photographs of the KHA fleet, exactly where the plans predicted they would be. More recent photograph have show that much of the fleet remains around the island.

One Damian South, a rising star in the Australian branch of the KHA church has announced schism, citing these invasion plans. His chuch is now the Reformed Karaginian Church.

"People of China, this incident goes deeper than a KHA plot to attack me or my own plot to discredit them. It makes no sense for either of our parties to wish the other ill. I am working my hardest to ascertain the true source of this tragedy. I do not believe that either of us want a war, espcially that I myself am trying so hard to avoid it.

I would like to apologize to the families of soldiers and others who died in the fighting near the conclave. My men acted as they saw to try to protect their Empress. It is with a deep sadness that this horrible event has caused the deaths of innocents.

I urge you all to remember that peace is the correct answer, and that a war with KHA will simply end in more innocent blood being shed. I want everyone of you to know that I appreciate your support in this time of crisis.

Archbishop Ali, now confined to a wheelchair, makes a televised sermon.

"My brothers in God, I call upon you to listen to truth and reason. Given the injury that I suffered, I think I can say that no one has more reason to be blame the Han than myself. But I do not blame them. I declare that they are free of guilt in this matter. While the Pack went to the Empress's defense more violently than necessary, they did so with the consent of our own Grand Templar. Surely you would not suspect Grand Templar Mangayao, who has never been attacked for being anything but too loyal, of conspiring to undermine our state?"
The Archbishop clears his throat, then continues in an earnest, personal tone.
"I do not know what demon drove the Empress's young guard to attack me. As she is now dead, we may never know. From her words and deeds, I am convinced that she did not intend to harm me, that she regretted harming me, and that some outside force compelled her to do so."
"Neither the Han, nor ourselves, had anything to gain from this tragedy. Because of the sudden alignment of numerous forces in this event; because of the sudden revelation of several secrets intended to harm our alliance; and because of the sudden deaths of several of the people most capable of revealing the truth behind this incident - "
The Archbishop pauses for effect, then finishes in a stern, fire-and-brimstone voice like a young preacher.
"Because of these things, I am convinced that this attack can be nothing but the fruit of a diabolical conspiracy against the Han Dynasty and against our Holy Alliance!"
"I cannot say to you, yet, what nations and non-state actors were involved. Some of the facts have yet to be proven, and the information we have confirmed is highly sensitive. As much as I would like to tell my people, and all the people of all the world, the whole truth at this very moment - to do so would be to betray you. For if I allow our enemies to hear what we now know about them, if I gave them a chance to prepare for the Godly wrath that shall soon descend upon them - " Nearly shouting, the archbishop raises his fists to pound on the lectern. "I would be betraying you like the terrorists who sought to murder me and pin the blame on a friend of myself and of my people tried to betray us all!"
After a moment, Ali continues in a calmer tone. "On a related note, I wish to address the allegations regarding our relations with Australia. It is no secret that we have long considered Australia a powerful rival of ours. Let there be no more secrets among us."
"It is true that a plurality in the High Conclave recently voted to position our fleets around Australia. While I strongly disagreed with their decision at the time, I have far too much respect for the democratic process to attempt to subvert the will of our elected government."
"It is also true that I suspected the pro-invasion forces of being involved with the attack on myself and on Empress Han. I now apologize to those archbishops. For while I cannot yet tell you everything about the conspiracy that faces us, I can tell you that my colleagues were more prescient about the Australian threat than I would have believed. "For secrets cut both ways. And in the interests of truth: I call upon the Australian government to reveal the truth about their environmental policies. The truth about the subversion of their democracy by corporate interests. And the truth about their part in the attack on our most holy Conclave."

KHA-loyal missionaries in Australia are urged to repeat the Archbishop's charges that the Australian government is deceiving its people. The Reformed Church is not criticized, but missionaries attempt to make sure that its ideology doesn't drift away from that of the main church.

Emperor Odin waited. He had been waiting for a while. His guard, a force of over 30 elite soldiers, selected from Thor's Hammers, are standing unmoving in formation around him. They too were waiting. Just behind Odin stood High Commander Thor himself. Though it did not seem possible, he is indeed larger than even Odin. They were watching a plane beginning to land.

"Time to finally meet one of them face to face. This will be interesting. Don't you agree, Thor?" Odin smiled.

Thor merely nodded. "Yes, my Emperor."

He then signaled to the Hammers to be ready for anything. Thor is nothing if not a cautious man.

Eight goggle-wearing soldiers, dressed urban cameo gear, and one hooded man in the same gear show up from the plane, with several large crates. The hooded man nods at Commander Thor, and removes his hood.

The hooded man is an sandy haired, middle-aged fellow, with a short goatee.

He grins up at the gigantic men, his teeth revealing an artificial sharpening of them.

"Jacob. Jacob Langstron. Head of Cabal's Interrogation and Unorthodox Weaponry departments, and the highest ranking fellow they could spare. The rest are working on solving that pathetic KHA debacle.

Now, shall we begin?"

Jacob snaps his fingers, and the Cabal soldiers get to work, dismantling the crates, and removing their contents.

Inside all but one of the crates are five strange-looking guns. The silver guns seem to be the product of an unholy union between a mortar and a machine gun.

In the last crate are a few large (and foldable) targets, along with a few remote-controlled moving targets.

[COLOR="DarkRed"]"These are portable rail guns. Instead of primitive gunpowder, these babies propel their ammunition forward with hundreds of tiny, magnetic pulls along minuscule 'rails'. Much faster, immensely more deadly," here, the officer grins happily, "...and probably more accurate, though when you're firing several hundred magnetically propelled bullets at a time, 'accurate' is a relative term.

However, given that these were just invented for widespread military use, they're still only used in relatively the same way as a mortar. For the demonstration, I'll need an open field, or perhaps even a field with a few hills. And before you get suspicious, my troops are not armed, and even if we wanted to attack you, we'd get cut down by your... Thor's Hammers, were they? We're not stupid. Well, except that Karg dolt that murdered the Chinese woman, anyway."

Jacob waits to give his demonstration until the Asgardians move to an open field or hilled field.

It is not clear what specific incidents Mangayao was referring to. While Mangayao stopped short of calling for a crusade against Australia – as he did in 2142, 2145, and 2146 – the idea is in the minds of many Karagatan citizens.”
Cut to an interview on the street.
Citizen: “Yes, I am very angry against Australia. I believe that the full fleet should return there, to free their people and the creatures of their land.”
Interviewer: “What did Australia do to provoke this anger?”
Citizen: “They keep their people in ignorance and they tried to kill the grandson of the prophet.”
Cut to an interview in a KHA church.
Priest: “Australia is a miraculous land, with some of the most unique and beautiful forms of life in the world. And to hear that the government has not been properly protecting them, well, it’s not surprising exactly, but it is very distressing.”
Interviewer: “What about the Archbishop’s allegation that the Australians were involved in the attempt on his life?”
Priest: “I’m inclined to believe it. The conference was about whether or not to invade Australia, after all. No one knew that Archbishop Ali was in the pro-peace faction, he was very quiet about that. Nations with heads of state always assume that Ali’s a ruler, not just first among equals, so they probably thought he was pushing for the invasion. Of course they’d want him dead, if they didn’t know what a peaceful and saintly man he was. And is.”
Cut back to the studio.
“Whatever the case, relations between Australia and the KHA are the worst they have been in living memory. Some speculate that the only reason Mangayao did not demand a holy war against Australia is because he knows that this time, popular opinion might give the KHA no choice but to accept it.”
“This is Maria Ruiz, Aztlan News Network, signing off.”

Jacob Langstron nods, still grinning, at the Asgardian leaders after the ride, and has his troops set up the targets.

Then he arms himself with one of the rail guns.

The stationary targets are quickly blown away in a near-invisible, immensely quick burst of fire.

Jacob cackles darkly as the remains of the targets are swept away by his soldiers.

"Emperor Odin, I'll have you note, those targets were alloyed- titanium. Either that, or a particularly strong strong of steel, I don't really pay attention to metallurgy."

The brutal soldier snaps his fingers again, and the troops bring out the moving targets.

One, two, three, four, five seconds, and ten small, but clearly durable flying targets are blasted into pieces. Ten more seconds, and the same number are destroyed.

Jacob, clearly having fun, cackles again.

"You see, my Emperor? No current weapon can match our PRG, or portable rail guns! And I assume you have been made aware of our... other deals with you Asgardians? Imagine a force of soldiers equipped with all those benefits...

My apologies if I speak out of turn, but how you NOT take our deal? All you have to do is accept us as your major military suppliers, and give us what we want. Here, take these."

Jacob hands the rail gun to Thor, and hands another one to Odin.

"If you do not want the deal, simply cut us down, and take the guns anyway. I can promise that we will not cause riots or declare war on your mighty Empire. We can find other customers easily... You'll get some of what you want anyway."

Odin and Thor looks the weapons over for a few seconds. They seem pleased at what they are holding.

The Emperor then walks up and fires several bursts of rounds at some distant trees, seemingly for the sheer sake of causing some destruction with this new toy. Thor is satisfied with shooting up some test-dummies.

Odin can't suppress his enjoyment, and laughs long and loud.

"How could we possibly pass up such a perfect opportunity? We have more than enough reason to strike a deal with you now. Unlike my fellow Triumvirates, I for one recognize the need for superior firepower, regardless of whether or not you are fighting a war." He then proceeds to shoot the crap out of a bird flying over the field.

Thor nods in agreement.

"Let us go over the details of the deal." He hands back the PRG to a Cabal man, and then looks over a paper he fetches from inside his coat. "I believe you wanted a facility in former Russia, just outside our border, and an exclusive military contract with the Asgard Empire. Do you have anything you wish to add?"

Commander Jacob Langstron smiles at the Asgardian's antics, and waits for a moment that they aren't looking over their new weapons, to shake their hands.

"Indeed, your information on the deal is correct, Commander Thor. We do not have anything to add to the deal. Thank you for your time, Emperor. Commander."

As the deal is accepted, the Cabal troops leave as quickly as they came, leaving the rail guns with the Asgardians, and promising more of the same.

The Solaris Alliance has steamrolled into Chad. When called by the international community to 'stop this madness' they responde only with offcial statements declaring the Chadian government 'criminally incompentent' and provide the UN government report cards as further evidence.

The NRE has solidified it's control over it's new conquests.

The Kingdom of Thialand has announced that it will hold open the Straits of Malacca 'by force, if nessesary' but will other wise remain neutral in the event of any KHA war.

One new topic of conversation is the amount of shipping accidents happening out in the South Pacific/Pacific area. Many ships, mostly those flying Chinese, KHA, Brazilian or Asgard flags, have mysteriously disappeared.

The plutocracy in Argentina has apperently reached the breaking point. There is fighting in the streets and some bombing of government offices. The countryside is a patchwork of rebellion and the slums of the cities are warzones.

A new nation has approached the UN and requested a recognition of sovernigity.

The Radium Revolution

The Radium Revolution.
After the nuclear war, survivors in Russia banded together to recolonize and rebuild. Bruno Kretzkichev, the leader of the Revolution, one of many of these tribes, oversaw the repopulation from his 'office' just outside of the Moscow fallout zone.
Bruno set his best scientists to find a solution to the radiation poisoning afflicting his people. The result was a device called the deradiator that removed the harmful effects of radiation, leaving behind a clean, whole body. But in some occurences, other mutations occured. Some people could run faster, had superstrength, or other such abilities. Or died from the shock, a quicker, cleaner death than cancer mayhap, but more sudden.
What was left of the air force flew over Russia, deradiating most of the Moscow area. From the ashes arose a new land. New Moscow, otherwise ignored by the world at largem became a city of learning and knowledge. The people were happy and worked like mad to repair their country. The New Moscow region is nearly back to full operating capacity. With a fair military and spy network, excellent science and happy population, the Radium Revolution now feels ready to stride onto the world stage.
The Radium Revolution controls most of Russia, all but the part owned by Han.

Firstly, I wish to express the Union's concern for both China and the KHA, and hope that any conflcts can be resolved peacefully. In our current situation we hope to aid you in your investigations into the matter. These actions were a great affront to the peace and security of all our nations, and as such must be investiagted and solved as soon as is possible.
We also wish to thank Asgard publicly for their great aid in our economic development. Our manufacturing capacity is now of much more acceptable quality- we hope that our own expertise has aided you as much as you have us.

We have plenty enough building supplies on hand, but what we lack is the machinery needed to manipulate said products. Our streets are filled with rubble, and our buildings few.
