Sorry for the lagging updates. Between Darkblade's game, life, and coming up with my own game, I find myself forgetting about this game sometimes.

Colesign, it is the Varden doing the attacking. And you'll arrive just as soon as Zsalamael and Soth do.

Because of further boredom, I have made heraldry for more of the knights Some of these are rather simple, but the tool I used for making them was also rather simple, so I didn't do anything too fancy.

Simple is good. Arthur doesn't have access to easily made printing or dying, so simple is very good. I assume these crests are actually on their shields/tabards and the like, so the simpler, the better.

Because your a terrible person who watches populist anime instead of exposing yourself to as much awesome as possible? Because that's about the only way I can think you'd get a vibe of anime, instead of heroic fantasy.

Funny note? I don't watch Naruto. But that's the vibe I get-two villains standing off against the speech giving hero? A fight about to start? Heck, making a choice between the two rather than having the army steam roll him? Sounds more Shonen than you realize.

Point. It's just most common in Shonen. Epic Fantasy usually restricts itself to one major villain on screen at a time, unless it's a meet up. Shonen almost always sends the villains in groups, and Naruto bloody loves pairs.

Tavi built a wall, then so did Rand. No desperate fight as the streets run red and order is lost, no last defense of the keep, losing one floor after another, no last minute finding of an escape, a secret passage and leaving others to hold the line long enough for them to get away, no last minute treachery, a fighting retreat into the wilderness, in the tunnels bellow the city, and all the rest.

That's what Heroic Fantasy should be. And makes for a much more enjoyable game then magic walls.

I hope my RPing of Lancelot's duel with Gregor didn't godmod in these first few moves. Please tell me if it did, and I'll correct it!

Also, if you need any information on the swordsmanship of the Arthurians, which I have based on historical late medieval styles, just ask and I can provide you with a positive wealth of information about European swordsmanship, both armoured and unarmoured, from either the German or the Italian school.

Problem is that some of us are going epic fantasy, others are heroic, and some are even low.

They'll be plenty of time to wage battle with massive thews later on. I assume Cracklord will have some way to match Tavi, Rand et al via Eragon and Sword of Truth mages. Then while the mages cancel each other out, heroic fantasy reemerges.

I'm playing a Black Knight who serves as the poster boy for ignored ephiney's. The only 'good' thing in him is a twisted sense of honor. He's also under orders to make this city fall. So it's going to fall.

No, what Rand did wasn't unrealistic. It actually happens, in canon. Well, sort of. Rand gets a knife hurled at him by his most trusted general in the middle of a conversation; he easily stops it in mid-flight.

In this situation, Rand's far more powerful, and he's on his guard. Totally within his limits.

I don't mean to give Sir Gregor any advantages, but slashing at plate armour with a sword really isn't going to do much

I mean, I suppose a blow with that beast of a sword could do blunt trauma with its mass and momentum. However, I'm pretty sure Lancelot is swift enough to avoid that. He's only wearing 20kg of armour, and it has been seen in re-enactments that a fit, trained man in full armour can catch a fleeing, unarmoured, archer on foot.

Still, should be a good duel.

Well, not slashing wildly, anyway. He's from a different martial school then you, which doesn't necessarily go for a quick kill.

When fighting an opponent in armor, you go for the joints, particularly f you have a shield to protect yourself with at the same time. If you bend them out of shape, or even better score a chink, you can still hack of limbs, cripple or maim.
