Anyway, moemon takes a pretty signifant time time + energy investment, at least for parts where I'm not just going around, talking to people, and fighting trainers and reacting. And, in this next week, I'm running low on time + energy to invest.
On the other hand, I will be gloriously free come May 14th, and will probably have a lot more time starting after the 3rd.

It's obvious that Tangela is going to be picked. So whether I agree or not, it really doesn't matter. When you catch the Tangela, I (third?) the motion of naming it Saphire.

Oh, and before I forget, there is another area Tangela can be found. Its this little patch of grass directly south of Pallet town.

I agree with the general consensus, a Tangela named Sapphire.

For the personality, that hikikomori (shut in) idea sounds intriguing, and I also like that tentacle monster bit. Maybe have her be a slight closet perv on top of being isolationist? If the perv angle doesn't work, then having her be a shipper of the other characters could work too.

I've always heard a GLaDOS-esque voice when Mushroom-Mellow talks, since her intro. It's why the robotic font and the strange capitals until she took control (and after she lost it). Spike sounds like either a greaser or a mobster to me, depending on the sequence. He needs a leather jacket, is what I'm saying.

Of course, catching a Tangela may be harder than normal...
Since I can't seem to find any. I've searched these bushes up and down.
I eventually just sit on a rock and take a sip of bottled water that Kai keeps trying to offer people. I think my water supply has somehow navigated to him.


"W-wait! It's bright out there! W-with the sun, and the heat, and the light --"
Other Pokemon: "You're getting out there, and you will like it. We're tired of you always sitting in the cave!"
"...I like the cave..."
Other Pokemon (2):"So do we. Which is why you have to let someone other than you in there."
"W-what about a wall? We could cut the cave in half and..."

A tangela steps into the grass, being escorted by a spearow and another tangela. The second tangela spots me while the first tries to hide from the light of day.
Tangela (2): "Hey, lady!"
"Yes?"
They all scurry in a bit of panic. I guess they were just expecting me to go "Oh, hey, a tangela."
"N-nothing! Nevermind! Don't listen to them!...Can I go home now?"
Spearow: [b]"Lady, could you take her with you? She's such a pain..."[b]
Other Tangela:"Come on, Sapphy. You'll like it -- a quiet, dark pokeball... No one'll bug you for space... Ummm..."
"...Fine...But just because you won't let me enjoy my cave!"\
"I guess I could..."
THe other two high-five each other. I get out a spare ultra ball.

"So your name's Sapphy?"
"S-sapphire...I-I'm not good with people...Nice to meet you..."

Well, that was the wierdest party-joining ever.
After a while of hanging on the beach, I head on back. I have a rock to deliver, after all.

She grabs my bag and pulls out an ultraball.

I didn't want that at -- dangit...



"Ahhh, home again, home again! Maybe I'll stop by for a night in my own bed before we head out."

I stop outside my house and take a peek inside before heading in. Mom is in front of the tv, watching with a bored expression...And I see her bottle of medication tipped over on the cofee table. Even from here, I can tell it's empty...
They're sedatives they gave her during the trial...She was inconsolable, frantic, so they gave her some pills to calm her down, and help her sleep at night. I have some, too...
I always kind of suspected -- but she was never... She always made sure...Not to let me see...
I stand there for what feels like a long time, but is probably only a few seconds. Behind me, I hear people living and moving and living and talking; I hear the ocean pounding.
I want to go in and tell her that it's ok; that I miss her too; that we can still be a family, just the two of us... That it's ok to miss her, to miss the way things were before.
"Mistress? Are you crying?"
And I smile and say, as my mother's said every day since then,
"No, no, don't worry...Everything's...Fine."
And then time goes back to normal, and I end up having Azula take us to Fuchsia.

"Why come back here?"
"Well, I only wanted Rock Smash on you for a little while...So we're going to help you forget it."
"It, and just it, right?"
"...Of course. Don't worry."

"Yes, I remember you from last time."
Ok, maybe she should be worried.

"There, see? Not so bad."
"How wierd...It's like there's a hole in my mind. Mega-trippy."
"Terra, don't."

"Anyway, on to Celadon."
I get out Phoebe.
"Mind taking us there?"
"Of course not. Let's go!"

She hums as she takes us there. I know Azula could, but...I like seeing Phoebe. I don't want her to feel forgotten, you know?

"So what exactly are we doing here, anyway?"
"Well, we're getting you ready, of course. And ChuChu, too."
And to do that, I get to go shopping! Sure, it's for TMs, but the teenage girl in me reminds me that it needs to happen more often.


"Hey, Boss. Mind if I borrow about 1000 coins?"
"Seen something you want?"
"Well, I saw something that I thought'd be useful for Kai to have."
He points it out to me, and I agree enough to buy it, but leave the giving to him.
"Man, you've been working hard. And I figure that sooner or later, you're gonna save our bacon... So here. Thanks"

"...Yeah. Thanks, Man. It's really beautiful...I feel like it's reaching into my soul..."
"Keep that feeling. Maybe it'll even be useful. Feelings sometimes decide fights in big, big ways."
They fisbump.



"Uhh...hey...I've been thinking...Could you get me an extra Ice Beam? In case I accidentally forget?"
"I suppose so..."
I go and buy it.



...And then the whole team freezes, sniffing the air.
"What was that?"
"Something big...I believe it was a signal."
"What was? A signal for what?"
"There was a surge of power to the north just now...I think it is the final Mirage of Kanto, stirring in wakefulness."
"...You mean...Zapdos?"
"It feels like someone's fixing for a fight. Good: me, too!"
And that's when all the lights go off. I step outside into the sun...And realize that *all* the lights are off, all across Celadon. Maybe even all of Kanto.
That's when I realize...That the signal is for me.
Ok, Zapdos. We're coming for you!
