Re: OOTS #857 - The Discussion Thread
the LG is in worse condition then we thought when Z is the one pointing out traps
looks like none of those mummys are going to make it to the order though at that rate
also how does passwall work? isnt he deep underground? shouldnt the spell be more aptly named "emergency escape tunnel"?

Run blindly and maybe you can find the gate. It would start you on the right track.

So this mummy uses guilt as a weapon?
So did mine!I gave up fighting, and stabbing and bludgeoning and stealing and bar-brawls and wenches . . . and it was the worst 10 rounds of my life - Jerry the Country & Western Bard.

Re: OOTS #857 - The Discussion Thread
the wizard finding the trap reminds me a little of the dndnext stuff of the cleric currently being better at finding traps then the rogue. though likely a coincidence.
not sure how passwall works but they are only 1 floor down from the top of the pyramid with V only 1-2 more down from the pit which puts hir at least 20-60 feet above the desert floor

Re: OOTS #857 - The Discussion Thread
Wow, that must be one of the most frightening events of V's life. Having the corpse of one of the people you just killed without knowning about it fall on top of you, and say it was your fault.

Re: OOTS #857 - The Discussion Thread
Description via the SRD:
You create a passage through wooden, plaster, or stone walls, but not through metal or other harder materials. The passage is 10 feet deep plus an additional 5 feet deep per three caster levels above 9th (15 feet at 12th, 20 feet at 15th, and a maximum of 25 feet deep at 18th level). If the wall’s thickness is more than the depth of the passage created, then a single passwall simply makes a niche or short tunnel. Several passwall spells can then form a continuing passage to breach very thick walls. When passwall ends, creatures within the passage are ejected out the nearest exit. If someone dispels the passwall or you dismiss it, creatures in the passage are ejected out the far exit, if there is one, or out the sole exit if there is only one.

It looks like those people last time who were saying the mummies weren't going to be much of a problem have been proven correct.

Two page one's in a row? *does the cha cha*
Glad we're back to V, will be curious to see how he makes it out of there.
And ditto on the "Your Fault" line, best line we've heard in a while. Mummy steals the show!Last edited by Great Dane; 2012-06-25 at 10:44 PM.

Your fault!
How do you deal with the responsibility for genocide. The crow should basically perform a suicide watch :(

Re: OOTS #857 - The Discussion Thread
Great comic. V's whole story arc has become incredibly dramatic.
From the looks of it that lower wall wasn't so thick. Which means there's another level down there, which means V might actually be ahead of everyone else now. If (s)he starts tripping more traps it could be a problem, but I'm more worried that V will be the first to stumble upon the gate and that the IFCC will take some of that soul control time they've been saving up.
Or you spend your entire life working to make up for it and do as much good in the world as you possibly can.

That is quite the choice of words, Draketooth mummy.

Pleasant surprise. Blackwing was great in this comic. I had forgotten that Sabine's actually a rogue... we certainly don't see her use her rogue levels often.

Re: OOTS #857 - The Discussion Thread
Actually, I think Z was being toung-in-cheek, pointing out that the Zombie triggered the trap.
And yes, that last line was wonderfully horrible. Reminded me of Harry's flash back in Ghost Story.Moo!
