You'll notice that your thread has a shiny new rainbow LGBTAI+ prefix on it. You can use that for this thread, but we also want you to use it for new threads you may start here in Friendly Banter.

It's part of our response to user requests about this thread and the fact that there seem to be two purposes that are slightly at-odds with one another. On one hand, you have the function as a support thread for the community, where you can talk about your personal experiences. On the other hand, discussions of LGBTAI+ issues keep breaking out in the middle of this thread, derailing the support function for a while and generally causing mayhem.

Now, you can take those LGBTAI+ discussions to a new thread when they arise and simply apply the LGBTAI+ prefix to it. This will also prevent the "ghettoizing" effect that sometimes crops up where someone starts a thread on an LGBTAI+ topic and gets told to bring it to this thread…we don't want to force everyone into one corner of the board.

I'm back!

How is everyone? I had a minor meltdown Wednesday-Thursday but otherwise I'm like normal. And the cats are fine as well.

I have a tooth that is so bad right now. Not only is it a frequent migraine trigger, but it was one filled and the cavity sits such that everyday mouth stuff causes a circuit to form across the exposed metal parts and zap me! :(

Luckily it is now Monday and the dentist is open >_<

I watched a review by Diamanda Hagan and the Cinema Snob. They are professional Internet reviewers of horrible movies, and while the movie was horrible the review was rather amusing. And included trans activist Zinnia Jones, whom I hadn't heard about earlier. I love reviews of horrible movies.

Zinnia is pretty awesome. Been reading her Freethoughtblog for a while and she's pretty good at writing. She's been in another of Hagan's reviews (The Genderfellator, a film made by trans actors in response to a transphobic film) and been interviewed by Hagan and Omega on Lesbian Talk too. :3

Must correct you, though. Hagan reviews both horrible and decent films, though your opinion on which is which may differ from Hagan's own. ^_^'

Anyway, on-topic...

My wife and I are going to a Beltane festival in mid-May. We've been to this event before, and it's a lot of fun. One thing they have is the adults-only area, called Inner Sanctum (IS). Started at midnight, IS has sex-themed events. (This does not mean orgies! :) ) Last year, they had a burlesque show the first night, and I'm not sure what the second night. (I skipped the second night because I wanted sleep.)

The festival just announced this year's IS late-night events. Friday night is a ritual devoted to Venus. Saturday night, everyone is supposed to go in drag.

For the first time in years, I got twitchy when I read about Saturday night's event. My first thought was "yeah, right. I've spent 7 years being portrayed as a man. There's no way I'm dressing as a woman, even for fun!" It would be one thing if drag was optional; I'd probably go to see how people look. But the impression is that it's expected. (The wording is "[t]his year we encourage you to explore personifying the opposite sex in costume and performance.")

There is a small part of me that is amused by the idea. But honestly, I really don't think I could do it.


(As an aside, the organizers are aware that trans people attend the festival. Earlier on Saturday, there are gender-specific events at IS, and both specifically say trans people are welcome.)

And I now have new friends, in fact a group of girly-girl friends (who are also intelligent and geeky, of course), and I've come out as homoromantic to one of them.

Oh, and I definitely do have some breast growth. Almost enough to fill my bra, in fact.

On the sadder front, one of my ear holes is apparently infected... And my family is still strange.

You're looking very spiffy, Caroline. As for your ear hole, if you don't have anything specifically for it, you can use warm salty water and a cotton bud. Don't poke at it too much, just gently roll the damp cotton bud over any icky bits to clean them off.

Although I was wanting to share something cool with you and the others who were part of that game (sorry, I've lost all my files and stuff regarding it, so we most likely won't be able to pick it back up). So:

So the leader of the pack that originally picked up Keveak's character is trans. She not trans in a gender way, she trans in a faction way: she was originally changed by a Pure pack, so she never had an Auspice. Eventually, she realized what awful people the Pure were, and she defected. Her current pack picked her up and she convinced them to give her a chance, and she convinced the Urdaga elders to do so, as well. When her first alpha died, she almost died too trying to save him, and the rest of the pack, including the then-Beta, were so moved by it that they made her the new alpha. Which is a big deal, when you consider how werewolf society works.

When asked by unfamiliar Forsaken, she calls herself an Elodoth, and she acts like one very well (although she can't remember the actual moon phase she changed under, because the Pure were so intent on taking away her Auspice that they didn't let her see the moon that night).

So, yeah, that's why just about every other pack leader hated her. Many of them don't see her as a Forsaken, they see her as a Pure.

Anyway, I have some sort of product that's supposed to work.

I prefer to keep the earring in, because it's clearly no healed yet and that's what my mother said I should do. But then, I'm not good at these things.

The other day, there was blood and strange liquid pooring out, and the whole area around was sensitive and dark-ish. It's better now though.

Which device and OS? I switched to default browser and it stayed that way, even when I completely close out the web browser program. So long as I don't close the tab (requiring me to open a new page and navigate to the forum again) it's still the default mode.
