Re: Simple RAW for Pathfinder Thread VI: Return of the Red Die
A 465 dispute The answer is no, your charge is wasted. Charge Through has an exception to allow you to attempt to overrun to maintain the clear path to your target. If your attempt fails, you no longer have a clear path and you just stop, which is what the text of Overrun says when you fail at your attempt.
Now, if you look at the Combat Trick section of Charge Through and the creature has stamina, you can explicitly change the target of your charge that way.

Q 470, part I: In general, when something says you can pick a spell of a certain level, can you pick a spell of a lower level instead? Or does it have to explicitly state something like “up to X level” or “X level or less?”
Q 470, part II: Can a Psychic with Mnemonic Esoterica use it to access a spell 2 or more levels below the highest level of spell they can cast.
Q 470, part III: Can a Psychic use Primal Spells to learn a Druid spell of a lower level than the highest level of spell they know.My Perpetually-Unfinished Homebrew: Tier-3 Class Suite, Homestuck Races for Pathfinder, Homestuck Races for 5e, Psionic Class Redux

Re: Simple RAW for Pathfinder Thread VI: Return of the Red Die
A 470 For learning spells, there is no rule that allows that. It sounds pretty reasonable and I suspect most GMs will allow it, but the RAW answer is no.
Q 470, part II: No.
Q 470, part III: No.Guide to the Magus, the Pathfinder Gish class.

Does shadow enchantment appears in the mesmerist spell list? according to archive of Nethys it doesn't, according to d20pfsrd it does. my only other source is herolab bundle of content, which says it does
if it doesn't and aonprd is actually the one most up to date, can anyone point me where the errata or faq or such and such that removed it is?

A 471 It wasn't removed, it appears to be a defect on the Archives. I checked both my physical copy and downloaded a fresh copy of Occult Realms and it says it's on the Mesmerist list. I made a bug report to the Archives.

Q473
If I have a scepter of divine providence and multiple pools of channel energy, when I use a channel energy and I want to increase the area of effect with the scepter, can I fuel that increased area with uses from pools other than the one I'm channeling with?
specific example is undead master necromancer wizard 1 / cleric X, can I increase my cleric channel area of effect by consuming uses of the wizard turn undead?

unless stated otherwise in the ability, multiple sources of channel do not stack - see the FAQ on the topic:
https://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9o80
So no, you have to use extra charges from the pool of the channel energy ability you are currently using in order to boost it with the scepterHector Morris Ashburnum-Whit - Curse of the Crimson Throne - IC / OoC

Q474
There is a visible trap on the ground, but the passage the character want to go through is 1 square large. The only way he could go through is to jump over or to go by the trapped square.
Since they can see the trap, is there a safe way to pass by the trap? Enter the square without activating it or having to disarm it?
(Like, for example, go slowly around it, or make a reflex save to avoid it or something like that?)Last edited by Condé; 2024-01-26 at 05:45 AM.

Re: Simple RAW for Pathfinder Thread VI: Return of the Red Die
A 474 That depends on the trigger. The only sure way is avoid it or successfully disarm it. Otherwise, figure out the trigger (hopefully without setting it off) and act appropriately.

What are some ways to expand the Sorcerer spell list (or otherwise give the Sorcerer access to non-Sorcerer spells)? Particularly with Bard spells, if possible?

Re: Simple RAW for Pathfinder Thread VI: Return of the Red Die
Q476
is arcane spell failure applied to spells with swift action casting time? I think the answer is "no", due to no somatic component
Q477
does a character threaten itself? I've in mind a silly possible quirk of order of the star challenge: can a cavalier declare himself as the target of the challenge, and thus gain the benefit of a morale bonus to saves in exchange of -2 to AC ( and big risks under confusion :D)

Casting time has nothing to do with whether or not a spell has somatic components. If a spell has somatic components, it is subject to arcane spell failure.Kaedanis Pyran, tai faernae.

Mortal usher 7th level feature Morrigna wrappings makes it so that a piece of our clothing "can be used as a magic whip that can be wielded even if the mortal usher’s hands are full"
How does this interact with full attacking if we have our normal/usual weapons in our hands? if we wanted to attack with both/all of them

You can attack with all of them, but attacking with three weapons at the same time gives -6 on your primary attack and -10 on anything else, unless you have the Multiweapon Fighting feat.Guide to the Magus, the Pathfinder Gish class.

Re: Simple RAW for Pathfinder Thread VI: Return of the Red Die
Q480: Had a funny idea, wanted to check whether I'm getting it right.
Base considerations: PF1, 3.5 content usually allowed, 3.5 skill reqs for feats/prestiges/etc reduced by 3 to account for PF changes. PB20 (PF version, starts at 10 for every stat).
Arcanist (Peri-Blooded Aasimar) - start with 18 INT, 16 CHA
Traits: Magical Lineage (Fireball) - treat total spell level sum of metamagic-adjusted spell as 1 lower, to a minimum of +0.
second trait not important rn, might also be something useful?
Arcanist Exploit @ level 1: School Understanding (Evocation (Admixture)) - lets me change the element of any elemental (acid/cold/fire/electricity) damage spell to another of the four 3+CHA mod times per day.
Feat @ level 1: Spell Focus (evocation) +1 DC to evoc
Arcanist Exploit @ level 3: Metamagic Knowledge (Empower Spell) - x1.5 damage for affected spell, initially +2 spell levels
Feat @ level 3: Greater Spell Focus (evocation) +1 more DC to evoc
Arcanist Exploit @ level 5: Metamagic Knowledge (Sculpt Spell) - change area to a variety of shapes, initially +1 spell level
Feat @ level 5: Spell Specialization (Scorching Ray or something other Evocation at that point, changes to Fireball at level 6) - treat CL as 2 higher for one spell, can swap the spell every even level
Arcanist Exploit @ level 7: Metamagic Knowledge (Intensified Spell) - damage cap of die/level spells raised by 5, initially +1 spell level
Feat @ level 7: Arcane Thesis (fireball) - +2 CL to fireball, treats every metamagic applied to the spell as 1 spell level lower to a minimum of
At which point, if I'm getting everything right, I can toss an Empowered Sculpted Intensified Fireball (possibly Acidball/Frostball/Shockball, circa 7 times per day by now) at CL 11 for a total of 11d6 x 1.5 in a rather configurable area of effect and at a decent DC, while still using 3rd-level spell slots for it. Is that right?Elezen Dark Knight avatar by Linklele

Re: Simple RAW for Pathfinder Thread VI: Return of the Red Die
A480: This seems more suited for a thread like "optimize a PF fire blaster", really. It's a decent combo, doesn't appear to be overpowered, and there's more tricks you can add to it.
What you appear to be doing wrong is that you can't do this trick "circa 7 times per day" because you have only four L3 spells per day.Guide to the Magus, the Pathfinder Gish class.
