Re: Failing Saves
Gilph is a sentient creature with (at least near-) humanoid intelligence and wisdom, so I would say that the emotion of "love" is easily within his grasp.
Now, the biological relational aspect of making "love" (Ie. Babies) is another matter entirely.

Re: Failing Saves
Two things:
The art is so similar to Giants it scared me for a while.
I got to the last one and actually shouted "WHHHHAAAAAT???? No! Where's the next one?!" so you've done a nice job in keeping me hooked.
Great job!
Only one thing that bothers me, the Warforged's intelligence seems to shift around a bit. Sometimes he speaks relatively normally, but other times he can't tell the difference between Desecrated and Desiccated (sp?).Join the watch or I'll kick your goohuloog head in.

Re: Failing Saves
The jambalaya is a reference to Scrubs I believe. There's an episode where Bob Kelso is angry about something so J.D. suggests he and his wife come over for jambalaya, but when he actually considers it, J.D. switches the subject back. Bob then says "What?" to which J.D. replies "Jambalaya."

Re: Failing Saves
All these Kolbolds remind me of a campaign I was going to DM; there was the fat kobold Mafia and they worshiped the kobold god of Fat.

Re: Failing Saves
Ah, yes. Low Spot DR, even lower spot rolls.
Nothing is more maddening than leaving something important for your players to find with DR of 12, and having them ALL roll 5's or less! Thanks to Ceika (X2), Yeril, Holammer and Dr. Bath for the Avatars!

Re: Failing Saves
This is why you have at least one person pump ranks into spot/listen. Its worth it.

Re: Failing Saves
I thouight bards, rogues and rangers are for spotting and listening. Or anyone who has a good wisdom What a waste for a wizard to put ranks in spot an listen, even more since its cross class. I would never even let my party's wizard do crap like that. They need spellcraft, alchemy and stuff like that so they can identify my precious magic items and potions.
Let the bard/rogue/ranger/whatever do it next time. They have too many skill points to spend anyway.

Re: Failing Saves
Hmm, tensions rise. I love Gilph's huge toothy grins. They seem so unnatural for a warforged, yet they still work. There's potential for tragedy with Gilph's crush - "a priestess would never fall for a warforged barbarian".
Should we even try to stat the characters yet?
We know that the drow bro's are level 3-4 (two magic missiles from Korul) and the party as a whole is low enough level for kobolds to be a challenge to them. I'm guessing that Delrek and Gilph are both Chaotic Good, but I can't get a good read on the alignment of the others yet.
GILPH
Chaotic Good Male Warforged Barbarian 3-5
Str: 18+ (barbarian, flattening kobolds into the floor, chucking kobolds through walls, bashing things hard)
Dex: ??
Con: 16+ (takes hits, Warforged, big n' beefy)
Int: 8 (not a complete idiot, but obviously less than average intelligence)
Wis: 8 (not a complete idiot, but obviously less than average wisdom)
Cha: ??

Re: Failing Saves
I'll hand it to you, Mocking. You're pretty darn close on the stats you've guessed. But I'll be playing the "Easy Writing" card. So I will not be confirming any stats. Sorry.

Re: Failing Saves
I personally prefer to have a set limit on what the characters can do, it makes them more consistent.
Whether or not I inform the readers what those limits are, is another matter

Re: Failing Saves
Thinkimg more about the way warforged can have babies...:
The male can have nanobots that he inserts into the female warforged during sex. The nanobots reach a zone with some spare parts...small parts.they begin assembly and fuse with the parts, creating an embryo. When the female warforged eats some pieces of metal (since they can eat anything...) the embryo starts slowly assembling itself into a more complex being. At the right time, the female warforged gives birth to a baby warforged. it has the same characteristics as a normal baby...except that it can grow itself with spare parts (when he gains the knowledge...which is gained as he gains more understanding of general stuff...much like a normal being).
So, I am oficialy a twisted guy...**** Photobucket ; RIP avatars
