Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
Three friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened a small florist shop to raise funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, the rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair.
He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not. He went back and begged the friars to close down, but they would not. He asked his mother to go and ask the friars to get out of the business. They would not.
So, the rival florist hired Hugh McTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to persuade them to close. Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he'd be back if they didn't close their business. Terrified, they did so - thereby proving that...
...only Hugh can prevent florist friars.

Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
I have a cat who's Luke after Luke Skywalker...
Go figure. My brother named him when he was 6...I was 8 at the time and called the other cat Charcoal. Luke and Charcoal. He was voting for Darth Vader but I didn't allow it...he used to call Charcoal "Vader" just to get a rise out of me; he'd follow me around doing it till I lost my temper and walloped him and then go running to Mom.
*sigh* siblings...

Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
Having more siblings than most I can vouch that they really do taste great when slowly grilled, smothered in mustard and served on toast.
As for cute pets I think my friends labrador retriever was one of the best.
She had just had a litter of puppies and found his wallet (with a large amount of paper cash in it) on the worktop in the kitchen. She proceded to swipe said wallet along with all of the credit cards and other bits and bobs in it and gave it to the puppies.
She was found chewing a cellphone next to the mangled remains of the wallet.
In a blind panic, thinking he had been robbed my friend ransacked the whole house.
The puppies meanwhile had managed to get inside the sofa, and were busy making a nest out of all of those lovely soft pound notes.
About six hours of panic later they were found curled up, incredibly cute in their nest. Why cannot life be simple? I am simple, therefore surely something that i try to do must also be simple

Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
All my siblings are considerably older than me, so I don't have any great stories of siblings. By the time I had any sense of what was good or interesting, they were already far past me. So I imagine they'd be telling those sorts of stories about me, rather than the other way around.
Also, I've never had any cute pets. Two dogs. I have been owned by a cat, though. I don't think describing it the other way around would be entirely accurate.Formerly known as Judas Maccabeus (a while back...)

Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
Siblings are meh. Especially when you're the oldest. Example:Me, aged eight had just met and fallen in love with C S Lewis' Narnia. I had the box set for Christmas. A dew days into January my darling sister, aged three, found them and preceded to rip the last five chapters of Book Three out of thebook and into tiny pieces.
I was six chaptes from the end.
So, in retribution I threw her doll down the stairs. A button fell off. My sister threw a tantrum and who got grounded? Me. That's right. Five chapters of a book versus a button.
I only forgave her when she did that cute thing toddlers do. She drew a picture and gave me a copy of the book for my birthday. Well, Mum did, but you know.
Siblings: Spawn of the devil and creation of the angels.
They shape you too. I wouldn't be me without them but they're EVIL. Then GOOD. Stupid TN brats.

Damn right Curly, it is worst when you're eldest.
I have a little brother and sister, they're 12 and twins. Everyday they team up to attempt to make my day a living hell, they drive me up the freakin' wall.Last edited by Almighty Salmon; 2007-12-08 at 03:02 PM.

Try being eldest of 9 brothers and 4 sisters. (all to same parents, not twins etc).

I have two older brothers which is better than having a sister. At least they don't steal my clothes and makeup. Krimm does steal my hair ties, though.

On families: My Mum is one of ten living (two died very young) siblings and my Dad is one of nine. I love hearing their anecdotes; and Christmas is always satisfying.

Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
I say middle brothers are more annoying. I have two in the middle and they bug me and bully our sister - the youngest of us. I believe Mum refers to them as Unholy Terrors From Heaven because they're not old enough to assume responsibilty for anything (that's all me) and they ren't the youngest so they can't be doted on or always believed.
They're stuck in the middle and bleeedin' annoyed about it too.

Re: Em's Extremely Extraordinarily Epic Random Banter #91
I have three younger brothers, aged fourteen, ten, and 3 1/2. The oldest has an account on the forums but we frequent different circles...
They're all annoying at times, the 3-year-old less so...he's too cute to be annoying. I'll be living away from home by the time he's old enough to bug me.
the 14-year-old and I get along ok...usually. He's a year and a half younger and our parents have always treated us essentially as the same age, although now that I have my driver's license, I finally have an edge.
The 10-year-old is the most annoying...just today he was humming "Mary Had a Little Lamb" OVER and OVER and OVER in different voices. First normal, then squeaky, then low, then squeaky again, then banging it on the piano as loud as he could...I asked him to stop six times and he ignored me, and then I got in trouble for yelling at him. My dad said "Don't tell him to stop singing - if it bothers you put some music on headphones." I was too annoyed to explain that what I wanted was QUIET.
But yeah, we got on surprisingly well most of the time.
