    Hyra's spell catches the cleric unawares, and he doesn't dodge out of the way (24 damage). Lanius moves up, firing 3 arrows; two hit, and the other clangs off the priest's armor (2 hits for 12+15+9 = 36). Jessica rebukes the Balor, and Gothmog flinches before the holy power channeled through her (failed!).

    The priest of Pelor flings a great ball of light at the group, then withdraws to the far side of the flames. "My apologies, great Gothmog!"

    The Balor easily shrugs off Merry's spell, lashing out at the wizard with his whip. The fiery thongs wrap around Merry and pull him closer. With his other hand, the demon slashes down at Jessica, his sword-strike landing with a crackling sound. "You dare to seek mastery over ME?"

    Also note for Hyra, Jessica, and Merry: Fire Aura. At the start of each of the balor's turns, each creature within 5 feet of it takes 3d6 fire damage, and flammable objects in the aura that aren't being worn or carried ignite. A creature that touches the balor or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 3d6 fire damage.

    Hyra ends her wall spell, then touches Lanius, curing his blindness. The elf runs forward, firing his bow at the priest, who seems to be able to see him (no advantage/no sneak attack), scoring one hit (17. He ducks behind a pillar (moved back 1 space to put pillar fully between him and priest).

    Jessica dodges, and blinks away the blindness.

    The priest casts a spell and heals himself (Heal, 70hp). His wounds close almost entirely.

    Lanius noticed that the priest somehow had noticed him - so the invisibility wasn't working - time to rely on his innate stealth.

    Dense fog fills most of the temple...but not the area around Jessica. The Balor looms over her, half in and half out of the fog. Fire comes from it, and its shadowy wings, limned with flame, spread as it leaps over her head while striking down.

    Hyra's beam is partly dodged. Lanius gets scorched by the guardian, even though it can't see him. He moves closer, his blindsight allowing him to fire two arrows into Teopixki at close range. Jessica slashes at the Balor, her weapon flashing with light as she smites it (33 damage total).

    The cleric calls upon Pelor, and a bright light cuts through the smoke momentarily. You're not sure what happened, as it wasn't the sound of a spell being cast. A spectral mace appears next to Hyra, attacking her.

    Merry dispels the guardian, then blinks out. The fog expands, rolling over Jessica and the Balor. Flames wash over her ((3d6)[12] fire damage). Taking advantage of her blindness, the demon flies through the fog, landing near the altar.

    Hyra moves to the side, firing a Sunbeam, but stumbles as she lands and falls with a clatter. Both enemies resist the worst of her sunbeam.

    As Lanius fires his arrows at the priest, Gothmog's fiery whip snakes out to attack him.

    Merry reappears in M6 to avoid the Balor aura. He casts Bigby's Hand at 5th level and grabs at the priest with it. It's large, in spaces M-N-4-5. (Priest gets an opposed Athletics/Acrobatics vs Hand's roll: (1d20+8)[18] or (1d20+8)[24] (Hand has Advantage on Medium or smaller targets.)

    If the grab succeeds, Merry uses his Bonus Action to crush the priest for (2d6+5)[11] bludgeoning damage.
